Why do I keep attracting Villainesses?

Chapter 21

Chapter 21

Chapter 21.

This woman is crazy, and now she wants me to be her body pillow?

"Are you going to make me wait?" Her voice turned cold, and I flinched. When her voice got like that, it meant I was about to get hurt if I didn’t move.

"No, mistress. Please forgive me." I apologized before doing what she said. I lay down on the cold rock, right in front of her.

"GAAUH!" I almost screamed when I felt her wrap her arm around me from behind. She pulled me close until my back was against her chest.

"Don’t even think about getting up before I do, do I make my self perfectly clear?" My body shivered when she whispered into my ear. Her voice was low and dangerous.

I couldn’t believe it. She was actually spooning me just to make sure I didn’t run off.

It felt completely wronged. I was supposed to be her servant, not her stuffed animal. I lay there, stiff as a board, staring at the cave wall.

This witch didn’t care at all how awkward I felt, even if it was weird to be held by someone smaller than me.

She wasn’t that small, really, but I was much taller than her now. Still, her grip was like iron.

I knew that if I tried to move, she’d wake up instantly and probably do something terrible to me. I was stuck.

Again!!!

’ Damnit!’

’Please let this nightmare end soon...’ I prayed silently, holding back my tears.

It wasn’t fair! Each time a good opportunity came by, she would always snuff it out, even now!

Just when would she let me go? A week? A month? Maybe years!

Just thinking about it was slowly driving me insane.

But in the end, I closed my eyes, trying to ignore the sound of her breathing and the coldness of the cave.

Her body was warm and helped negate some of the coldness, so there’s that.

I was a man who used to have a life and friends.

Now I was a half-shark pet for a crazy sea witch, being used as a pillow in a cave full of bones.

Life really had a funny way of ruining everything.

Eventually, the tiredness from the day and the big meal started to catch up with me.

My eyes felt heavy, and even though I wanted to stay awake and plan my escape, my brain was shutting down.

I fell asleep in the arms of the woman I was supposed to hate, wondering what kind of mess I’d wake up to tomorrow.

The next thing I knew, the dim light of the cave was shifting.

I didn’t know how long we had been asleep, but the mistress was still holding onto me.

I stayed very still, hoping she was still out cold. I could hear the faint sound of water dripping somewhere in the tunnels.

It was peaceful, in a creepy way. I tried to slowly move her arm, just an inch at a time.

My heart was beating so loud I thought it would wake the dead.

But as soon as I moved even a tiny bit, her grip tightened. She didn’t even open her eyes. She just pulled me back and let out a soft sigh, as if she was just adjusting her position.

I sighed too, but it wasn’t a happy one. I realized then that escaping wasn’t going to be as easy as just waiting for her to nap.

’ This can’t be real! She’s definitely awake, right?’ not being able to see her face, I let my thoughts wonder.

I looked at the piles of shark meat we hadn’t finished.

There was still a lot left. I wondered what she planned to do today.

Would we go hunting again? Or would she make me do some other weird chore? Every moment was a mystery with her, and none of the answers were ever good.

I just wanted to see the sun again. I missed the feeling of dry air and the smell of the city.

Down here, everything smelled like salt, blood, and fish.

Feeling vexed, I started thinking about Artria and Gerin, my ditch attempt at an escape plan.

’ I wonder how those two are doing right now.’

I hoped they made it back to their village safely with all those fish.

They had seemed so terrified of my mistress that I wondered whether they’d still come out after that incident.

"Cursed child," Artria had called her. What did that mean? Was she an outcast? Did she do something so bad that even the other merfolk were scared to mention her name?

’ Who knows...’ I said to myself.

It would explain why she lived all alone in a cave full of skeletons.

I looked down at her arms that were still wrapped around me. Never did I expect to hate being held by a beautiful woman like this.

The same hands holding me were the same ones that easily tore a shark in half.

She was a monster, plain and simple. And now, thanks to her, I was becoming one too.

I looked at my hands, which were human right now, but I knew that underneath the skin, there was something else waiting to come out.

The thought of becoming a full-time monster made me shiver.

I didn’t want to be her "dogfish." Which I guessed meant dog down here.

I wanted to be a man. But as the mistress squeezed me a little tighter in her sleep, I realized that for now, I was exactly what she wanted me to be.

I was her loyal, shark-bodied servant, and I wasn’t going anywhere until she said so. I closed my eyes again, trying to find a little more rest. If I was going to survive another day with the sea witch, I was going to need all the energy I could get.

As I drifted back into a light sleep, I imagined I was back on the surface, sailing into the sunset with a boat full of fish that I had caught through normal means, with a net and a rod, not with my teeth and claws.

It was a nice dream, but I knew that when I woke up, I’d still be in this dark, cold cave, trapped under the arm of a woman who was as beautiful as she was terrifying.

My life as a web novel extra was definitely not going the way I thought it would. Instead of a simple life in the background and a mountain of gold, I had a pile of bones and a very clingy mistress.

"Just my luck," I whispered to the empty cave, before the darkness finally took me again.
