When the Wind is Sweet: The Fairy Tale of Mr. and Mrs. Lancaster

Chapter 377: Pepper

Chapter 377: Pepper

The store manager snapped back to reality, took the card again, "Alright, please wait a moment!" then turned and left.

Without waiting for the girl to say thank you, the man parted his thin lips, "An ambassador for a prestigious jewelry series can’t even afford a dress, how embarrassing is that?"

She didn’t get angry at all but instead smiled and said to him, "Thank you, President Lancaster, for your generosity!"

Sienna listened to this exchange, and her mood darkened. Was this girl the ambassador of the eternal love series?

Adrian Lancaster took back the card handed over by the store clerk. He didn’t say goodbye to Kylie Fletcher and turned to leave.

After just two steps, he collided with Sienna Dawson’s slightly resentful gaze.

These former lovers met eyes once again.

Immediately, Adrian Lancaster’s face turned cold, his gaze withdrawing. He lifted his steps to leave, not even giving her a sidelong glance.

Staring at his retreating figure, Sienna felt an intense, tugging pain in her heart!

He had blocked her phone number!

She wanted to step forward and grab him but didn’t know what to say.

The resentment in his eyes was so deep, so strong that she couldn’t see a trace of affection.

Just then, Kylie Fletcher, carrying a bag and wearing high heels, walked out of the clothing store in a good mood, even humming a tune.

Sienna snapped back to reality and looked at her, feeling utterly terrible, stepping forward to block her way.

Kylie stopped in her tracks, her willow brows knitting together in confusion, "Who are you? Why are you stopping me?"

"The position you hold now was originally mine." Sienna’s voice was cold, her heart filled with jealousy.

Kylie didn’t understand, "What position?" Then she lowered her head to look at the ground beneath her feet, "Did you lay this brick? Fine! You can stand here!"

She promptly shifted her steps and continued on her way.

"Stop playing dumb!" Sienna shouted at her retreating figure.

Kylie’s expression changed as she paused and turned around—was this someone looking for trouble?

Their gazes met, and Sienna looked at the girl’s pretty face, recalling the scene earlier of her linking arms with Adrian Lancaster and having him buy her clothes!

Sienna suppressed the anger in her heart, "The position of the eternal love series ambassador was mine, but because of some issues between Adrian and me, it ended up in your hands."

Kylie rolled her eyes, showing she had no time to deal with her, then turned away and left!

Sienna, unable to take it, quickly chased after her and grabbed her wrist, "Stop right there!" Forcefully halting her steps, "You don’t believe me, do you?"

"Are you crazy?!" Kylie flung her hand away, glanced her up and down, and eyed her sideways, "I emerged through fair competition! You didn’t even make it to the finals; there were only nine people on the last day!"

"Do you know why there were only nine people?" Sienna was extremely displeased seeing Adrian accompany her to try on clothes.

"Ask Adrian Lancaster about that! It’s his company’s business!" Kylie retorted, "Nobody on the street knows me, but you also can’t degrade my level! Don’t ramble on with me here!"

Having finished retorting, she flicked her hair and left in her high heels.

Sienna glared at her retreating figure, her eyes practically spitting fire. What was that?! Just like a little pepper!

She was infuriated!

Faye Turner as Mrs. Lancaster wasn’t easy to mess with, and even their ambassador was so arrogant!

At this moment, at Adrian Lancaster’s other property, a hillside villa where Caleb Lancaster resided, security was tight.

The begonias in the yard were blooming beautifully.

The fresh autumn breeze blew past her ears, and Faye Turner wore a thin jacket as she sat in the yard analyzing medical records.

Several folders, an open notebook, a fountain pen, and a highlighter lay on the small round table in front of her.

She carefully analyzed them, marking her points of doubt.

Not far behind her stood four bodyguards dressed in black.

The breeze lightly brushed against her, the sunshine warm and mellow, and because of her presence, even the begonias beside her seemed to bloom more beautifully.

About an hour later, she placed all the analyzed medical records into the folder, closed the notebook, got up, and walked into the villa.

"Madam." Someone at the door greeted her respectfully.

She smiled at him, "I would like to go check on Father."

"Alright, please follow me."
