When the Wind is Sweet: The Fairy Tale of Mr. and Mrs. Lancaster

Chapter 306: Watching Him Perform Quietly

Chapter 306: Watching Him Perform Quietly

"As long as you divorce, even if Dylan can’t find a job, it doesn’t matter. We can leave Argent." Vivian felt quite good, chatting about the future with her.

She advised again, "Why keep a man who doesn’t love you by your side? You’re still so young and beautiful."

Rachel felt she had gained a lot from this trip; she glanced at her watch and asked indifferently, "I will consider the divorce. Is there anything else you want to say?"

She actually said she would consider a divorce!

This made Vivian’s eyes light up, she was very pleased!

She put down her cup, grabbed her bag, and stood up, "Then I won’t bother you anymore, Rachel! I’ll be waiting for the good news!"

After saying this, she left happily.

Rachel was left sitting in the chair, holding the bank card she had been given, scoffing. The money on this card was joint marital property.

Not only does she want this money, but she also wants to recover all the money Dylan spent on this woman over the years.

Rachel didn’t know with what kind of mood she returned home.

In the taxi, she leaned against the chair, letting the wind that came through the window mess up her hair.

But it couldn’t blow away the worries in her heart.

Just as she entered the house, she was shocked by the bustling atmosphere inside.

"Come, come, Rachel is back, hurry up and wash your hands for dinner!" Her father-in-law, showing unusual enthusiasm, welcomed her warmly today.

Her mother-in-law was holding June, also wearing a rare smile, "It’s time to eat!"

Someone was busy in the kitchen; Rachel thought someone had come to help with dinner, but then remembered it wasn’t anyone’s birthday.

While she was puzzled, Dylan came out carrying two dishes.

He was wearing an apron, a joyful smile on his face, "Rachel, you’re back? Hurry and wash your hands to eat, today your husband is cooking personally!"

Rachel had no idea what was happening.

It made her feel as if she had traveled back three years in time.

If she hadn’t just seen Vivian, she would have thought she was dreaming.

"Why are you still sitting around?" Her mother-in-law was a bit impatient, "Dylan has cooked the meal already, you’re just waiting to eat, hurry up and wash your hands!"

Rachel snapped back to reality, turned to put down her bag, and then went to wash her hands.

Turning on the tap, the cold water splashed on the back of her hand, leaving her almost breathless with confusion.

When she returned to the dining room, Dylan held out a bouquet of roses to her, "Honey, this is for you, hope you like it!"

Rachel froze again, she reluctantly reached out to take it, completely clueless about his intentions.

"Not even a thank you?" Her mother-in-law was anxious, "As a man, the pillar of the house, he has done all this, what are you unhappy about?"

Indeed, the house hadn’t felt like this for a long time, it had been lifeless for so long.

Dylan signaled to his mother, "Mom, stop talking so much, it was my fault last time for hitting."

"But she called someone to have you beaten up too, isn’t that even? What’s right or wrong?" As a mother, she always felt for her son.

Rachel turned around, placed the flowers down, and took her daughter from her mother-in-law’s hands.

Dylan helped her pull out a chair, "Let’s eat, let’s eat, first put June in the cart, let her sit for a bit, she’s being good today."

As he spoke, he took the child from her arms and placed her in a nearby stroller, Rachel noticed a new toy hanging on the cart.

Her father-in-law chuckled and said, "Dylan brought this home today, June loves it."

Rachel’s expression remained calm, she didn’t say anything.

The meal was awkward; Dylan kept putting food on her plate, but she wasn’t happy at all.

Despite the abundant feast on the table and Dylan’s constant smile, the feeling made Rachel feel unfamiliar, even sick.

All she could hear was Vivian’s voice and the photos she sent.

"Let me report, I didn’t come home last night; I went to Jadepoint with an old friend and today personally handed in resumes to several companies, results will come soon." Dylan said while eating, reporting to everyone.

Rachel silently ate her food, quietly watching him perform.

After the meal.

Dylan said, "Rachel, I have something to tell you, shall we go into the room?"

Her mother-in-law looked at Rachel worriedly and warned, "That’s enough, couples quarrel at the head of the bed and reconcile at the foot, stop showing attitudes."

Rachel didn’t say anything, she followed Dylan into the bedroom, and then Dylan closed the bedroom door.
