Chapter 307: A Slap Raised Without Warning
Chapter 307: A Slap Raised Without Warning
Entering the room, Dylan Shaw looked at Rachel Sherman, who was clearly displeased.
He dropped the smile he’d worn all afternoon and let out a heavy sigh, speaking to her calmly, "Rachel, I promise you, I’ll sever ties with the woman outside. Let’s start over?"
Rachel stood by the bed, simply looking at him.
Images of those saved bedroom photos on her phone flashed in her mind again, each one a sharp sword.
"Go ahead, what exactly do you want to say?" After many years together, Rachel had some understanding of him, "Just say it."
In the past two years, Dylan had become very arrogant; he definitely wouldn’t settle down again.
Seeing that his wife saw through him, his brow furrowed slightly as he began to organize his words, thinking about how to start the conversation with her.
Actually, the truth was—
Not only could he not find work in Argent, but in the neighboring city too, any company’s HR department would shake their heads after looking at his ID card, not even glancing at the resume.
He never expected that President Lancaster would cut off all his paths completely.
He saw that Rachel had interviewed President Lancaster and realized how useful her network was, and how powerful this connection was.
The whole world knew President Lancaster never accepted exclusive interviews and was very averse to them.
Because Rachel managed to interview President Lancaster, Dylan decided to return to the family.
Seeing him momentarily speechless, Rachel smiled, having already guessed his intentions.
She bent down to pick up June’s jacket and diapers from the chair, casually tossing them onto the bed, sitting down in the chair.
"Tell me, where did you go last night?" Rachel asked calmly, lifting her gaze.
This was the first sentence she’d spoken to him since she came through the door today.
Facing her gaze, Dylan replied without a change in expression, "Didn’t I report just now? I went to Jadepoint with friends to look for a job."
"I got off work at five." Rachel asked calmly, "But I came back at six thirty. Guess who I met today?"
Dylan was puzzled, "Faye Turner?"
Rachel didn’t respond, simply opened the photo album on her phone and brought up the photos sent by Vivian Sawyer today.
She then extended her hand, showing the phone screen to him, "See for yourself."
Dylan squinted, took a few steps forward, and bent over. When he saw the photos clearly on the screen, his face changed dramatically.
Rachel sat in the chair, calmly observing his expression, though her chest was tearing apart and bleeding internally.
There was a few seconds of silence in the room.
This sudden evidence left Dylan momentarily speechless. Vivian Sawyer, that fool! What was she up to?!
"Let’s get a divorce."
Rachel retrieved the phone, speaking in a mild tone, "I’ll give you freedom and hand you over to her. Don’t argue with me, June stays with me, and the family property is split equally."
Dylan never thought the words ’divorce’ would come out of her mouth!
So effortlessly and with such conviction.
"Are you joking?" Dylan laughed, though there was a hint of anger in the laugh.
He stopped holding back, "Isn’t it normal for men to fool around a bit? It’s human nature! People have emotions and desires! You didn’t cheat because you’ve been at home with the baby for the past two years, you’ve shut yourself off; you just haven’t met someone who matches your soul yet!"
Rachel stood up and slapped him quickly!
Smack—!
She slapped his face hard, turning it to the side and leaving him utterly stunned!
"You’re sick!! Seriously sick!" Rachel was furious, "Is confusion normal and clarity a sin?!"
"Rachel." The man covered his burning cheek, grit his teeth turning, his eyes filled with viciousness, "Don’t think about getting divorced! My parents are old and can’t take the strife. If you don’t want to live properly, don’t blame me!"
He held back today and didn’t hit back!
After finishing, he stormed out of the house!
