Chapter 304: President Lancaster’s Sense of Responsibility
"You..." The chief editor looked at that back, truly having no way to deal with her. The contract was already signed, and she was now a full-time employee.
Just after leaving the chief editor’s office, Rachel Sherman’s phone rang. She took it out and saw an unmarked number.
But she knew who it was, because this person had called to provoke her before!
Every digit in that number felt like a piercing thorn!
She stared at the caller ID, found a secluded spot, slid her finger across the answer key, and put the phone to her ear.
"Hello." Vivian Sawyer’s voice came through, "Do you have time? Can we meet? I have something to say to you."
"What is there to say between us?" Rachel asked coldly.
Vivian laughed, "Of course there is. We have a man in common, Dylan Shaw. How could there be no topic?"
Just as Rachel was about to hang up the phone, Vivian quickly added, "I’ll be waiting for you after work at the 3rd booth of The Daily Bean Café next to your newspaper office. See you there, I have something you want."
After speaking, Vivian hung up the phone.
Rachel held the phone, standing still, feeling as if all the blood in her body had frozen, then started to boil!
An oppressive irritability made her extremely uncomfortable!
Why did she have to disgust her like this?
She was just waiting for President Lancaster’s lawyer friend to return to the country so she could file for divorce. Thinking of Vivian’s intelligence, she was somewhat worried about Dylan’s judgment.
Rachel thought it wouldn’t hurt to get more evidence from her to make Dylan leave with nothing.
So, she decided to attend the meeting.
Adrian Lancaster had just finished a prenatal check-up with Faye Turner and drove back to the Prestige Group, where the entrance was already surrounded by reporters.
As the Lamborghini stopped, those reporters swarmed like fighting over a sweet pastry.
Inside the car, Adrian Lancaster slightly furrowed his brow. Seeing the security unable to hold them back, he couldn’t help but feel a bit irritated.
There better not be a stampede, it would be bad if his wife and child were hurt!
So, Adrian didn’t get out of the car immediately but took out his phone and dialed a number, sternly saying, "What’s the situation?! Allowing so many reporters to besiege us! Don’t you know how to disperse them?!"
"President Lancaster, we thought... you would need to explain something because the public opinion is escalating."
Adrian Lancaster angrily hung up the phone.
Quickly, dozens of security guards came over and dispersed the reporters.
Adrian Lancaster opened the door and got out of the car. He circled around the car body with a calm and handsome face and opened the passenger side door.
Faye Turner had already unbuckled her seat belt and got out of the car under his protection.
He took the opportunity to put his arm around her shoulder, shielding her from the reporters as they entered the lobby, "You head up first, I’ll deal with this."
Faye stopped and looked back at him, noticing a hint of tenderness in his eyes.
She glanced at the reporters outside, about thirty or forty of them, each holding a microphone, and some with cameras, looking at him like wolves.
"Go on up, I’ll handle things here," Adrian Lancaster’s voice was gentle, releasing his hold on her shoulder.
Faye nodded and stepped inside.
Adrian Lancaster put his hands in his pockets and prepared himself before turning to walk outside, standing at the entrance of the lobby.
Seeing him about to speak, the reporters pushed forward desperately! The security guards tried hard to hold them back!
"I don’t understand why you’re so interested in my personal life!" The man’s posture was tall and striking.
"No questions needed, I’ll answer on my own!" He looked at the reporters with gentle eyes. Although there were security guards blocking them, the crowd suddenly became quiet.
