When the Wind is Sweet: The Fairy Tale of Mr. and Mrs. Lancaster

Chapter 303: Kissed Into Confusion

Chapter 303: Kissed Into Confusion

Faye Turner’s breath seemed to slow for half a beat in that instant!

Her eyes were filled with shock!

The man kissed her lips, also showing hesitation and internal struggle for a moment, then completely surrendered to his domineering yet passionate kiss.

Adrian Lancaster didn’t know how to explain yesterday’s events to her, so he turned all his words into this kiss.

He kissed her, repeatedly, fervently, and passionately pressed his lips against hers.

Faye’s face flushed a syrupy red, her breathing gradually becoming erratic, and the man’s slender arm encircled her back, pulling her into his embrace.

The other hand clasped the back of her head, kissing her softly, yet with a fierce determination.

Male hormones enveloped her, and Faye felt like she might be kissed to pieces in his arms.

At this moment, her mind went blank, nearly losing the ability to think, she was completely surrendered...

This kiss lasted a full three minutes, a genuine expression of Adrian Lancaster’s feelings. His heart, which seemed like a black hole before, was suddenly filled, no longer feeling so empty or painful.

The kiss ended, Adrian Lancaster’s nose gently touched hers; he could feel her breath somewhat panting, and her eyelashes quivering lightly.

It was as if he could hear her heartbeat, pounding like a little deer running amok.

"I’m sorry." He cupped the girl’s heated cheeks and said sincerely, "I will handle yesterday’s matter properly, give me some time."

Faye lowered her head and eyes, her thoughts complex, with an illusion that maybe he loves her too.

Her brow furrowed lightly, her heart in a bit of chaos, unable to fathom what he truly thought.

Or perhaps, what kind of emotions did he have towards her?

Adrian Lancaster smoothed her hair before releasing her, started the car again, and took her to the hospital.

Along the way, he didn’t try to hold her hand again, nor did he break the silence by speaking.

And Faye tried to calm her emotions, repeatedly telling herself not to develop any illusions.

He said before that he wouldn’t fall in love with her.

Thinking of Sienna, her heart ached even more... The more she reminded herself not to fall, the deeper she seemed to sink.

Love is just uncontrollable like that.

When they reached the hospital for the pregnancy check-up, Adrian Lancaster was very, very attentive. He let her sit and rest, handling all the paperwork and queueing himself.

His anxious and caring demeanor was seen by Faye, yet she still found him unfathomable.

Did he want to be photographed by the media?

Explaining through actions?

She remembered the last time they brought Rachel Sherman to the hospital, it was photographed.

Perhaps she overthought; he would make a good father.

But would he make a good husband?

Would Sienna appear again?

Until the afternoon, the editor-in-chief at Rachel Sherman’s news agency was still restless, considering strategies. Not only was he worried about losing his job, but also concerned about facing huge compensation claims.

He might even end up in jail!

He had no idea what actions President Lancaster would take, as there had been no orders, making him anxious every second.

"Rachel! Can you think of a solution, please?"

The editor-in-chief pulled her into the office again, "President Lancaster is so angry because he still cares about Mrs. Lancaster. You’re friends with Mrs. Lancaster, can you help plead for mercy?"

Rachel was equally exasperated, "I’m so stressed out because of you, resorting to any means for traffic, and now things have turned out like this. I don’t have any solutions left."

"Isn’t that how media should be? Should have a spirit of adventure!" The editor-in-chief was also anxious, but didn’t regret yesterday’s decision.

After all, as long as this crisis was safely passed, the matter would be over, and the traffic earned meant money.

"Rachel, give Mrs. Lancaster a call and ask if President Lancaster will shut down the news agency!" He was waiting anxiously, as if there was a sword hanging over his head.

"I won’t call." Rachel replied softly, but her attitude was firm, "If it’s not related to work, please don’t involve me again."

With that, she turned and left, feeling utterly frustrated!
