Chapter 113-Finally-Our wedding

Lea's POV

I stood in front of the grand mirror.Today, I would marry Jake, the love of my life, and the father of my Kai. Our journey had been anything but normal but it had brought us to this breathtaking moment.

My dress was a masterpiece, a custom creation by one of the most renowned designers in the town. The silk fabric clung to my figure, adorned with intricate lace and delicate pearls that sparkled as I moved. The train flowed behind me like a river and the veil was draped over my shoulders, waiting to be lifted.I felt goosebumps at the thought.

"Lea, you look like an absolute dream," Lisa said, fussing with the final touches on my veil. She stepped back, her eyes bright with unshed tears. "Mr.Rodger is not going to know what hit him." I laughed, trying to steady my breathing. "You think?"

"I know," she replied, giving me a reassuring squeeze on the shoulder."Wow, Lea. You're stunning. Seriously, Jake's going to lose it when he sees you."The door opened and my maid of honor,Mercy walked in, her eyes widening in awe. "Lea, you look like a goddess," she whispered, hugging me gently so as not to disturb my dress. "Are you ready to become Mrs. Jake Rodgers?"

"As ready as I'll ever be," I replied, my voice trembling but I tried to steady myself.The music outside signaled the start of the ceremony. I took a deep breath.This was it.

My heart swelled with love and gratitude as I thought of Kai, who would be walking down the aisle with us. My little boy, the symbol of our love...Just then, Kai peeked into the tent, his little face lighting up the moment he saw me. "Mommy, you look like a princess!"

Tears welled up in my eyes as I knelt down to hug him. "Thank you, sweetie. Are you ready to walk me down the aisle?"Kai nodded enthusiastically, his small hand gripping mine tightly. "Let's go, Mommy!" I stopped just before we were about to step out. " What is it? " Mercy asked, looking a little concerned. " Umm, shouldn't we wait for Phill and Mrs.Rodgers? They haven't arrived yet. Have they? ” Mercy took my sweaty hands in hers and wiped them. " It will take them some more time. I was just on a call with them. Mother asked us to go ahead. They will join us for dinner. The weather conditions are terrible. They are waiting for it to settle down a bit before they can take off. Don't worry. They will be here. " I nodded. I shouldn't be overthinking. It was my big day.

Jake and I,had decided on an open venue .It was more like us. It was a quaint,distant place,stretching out before us, adorned with flowers and twinkling lights.All eyes were on us, but I only saw Jake at the end of the aisle, waiting for me.

When we reached him, Kai handed me off to Jake, who took my hand and squeezed it gently. "You look amazing, Lea," he whispered, his eyes locked on mine."Are you planning on killing me tonight? "I must have looked so stupid blushing without complimenting him back. "And you look incredibly handsome," I replied, feeling the butterflies in my stomach take flight.

The officiant began the ceremony, but all I could focus on was Jake. His eyes never left mine,an unspoken promise of forever.Jake leaned in,"Lea, I can't believe we're finally here. After everything we've been through, I feel like the luckiest man alive to be standing here with you." His hands rubbed my back and it sent a warm ripple down my core." I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you,"tears pricked my eyes as I whispered back.

We stood there grinning and smiling like high-school lovers as the ceremony moved to the next stage. The officiant asked the age-old question: "If anyone here knows of any reason why these two should not be joined in holy matrimony, speak now or forever hold your peace." A heavy silence fell over the crowd, punctuated only by the distant sound of birds chirping. I glanced around, relieved that no one seemed inclined to object.Not that I expected one.But just as the officiant was about to continue, a hand shot up from the middle of the crowd.

Waves of gasps went around as I saw the flowers drop from Mercy's hands. As the figure slowly stood up, I felt Jake's hand go around my waist as he pulled me closer. Mercy let out a little cry as she whispered beside me, " Percy!!! "

My eyes immediately went around looking for my baby. " Kai! " A yell left my mouth but then I saw him right in front , running towards me. I ran down the stairs as my veil ripped off. I didn't care about anything else. I hugged my boy and picked him up, trying to soothe him as he looked so perplexed.

And then there was pandemonium all around me. I could see all the guests running for their lives, yelling and screaming. I saw Jake and Mercy jump down from the stage, their eyes glued forward in horror. I heard Mercy raise up her hand and scream as she ran towards me and Kai, "No!Percy, nooooooo!You can't do this! ” I turned around just in time to see something like a gun in Percy's hand. But before I could understand what was happening, something sharp hit my forehead.Kai fell from my hands as my head yanked back and I fell with a thud on the cold hard floor.

The chaos and noise all around me started to rapidly fade away. Only images of the moments I spent with Jake flashed before my eyes as if watching a movie which had been fast-forwarded. A smile tugged at my lips and then everything went pitch black.
