Chapter 303: Ch 303: The Archway Connected To Abyss

Chapter 303: Ch 303: The Archway Connected To Abyss

The moment he stepped inside, the space around him changed. A strong force locked the entrance behind him. It was a spatial barrier that blocked any way out. However, Emrys did not panic. Instead, he smiled.

"This is supposed to trap me?" he muttered.

To others, this barrier would be unbreakable. Even powerful beings would struggle to escape. But Emrys was different. He had the authority of space. He could feel the barrier, understand it, and even control it if he wanted to. In fact, he was confident that he could break the barrier with just a snap of his finger.

Still, he did not break it. There was no need. He had come here to move forward, not to leave.

He turned his attention to the path ahead. The cave was dark, but faint divine runes glowed on the walls, lighting the way. It was a pity these runes were affected by the aura of Abyss. They were contaminated, which became the main cause behind the eerie aura in the surroundings.

He walked deeper without any fear. The deeper he went, the stronger the aura around him became. Then there came a moment where this eerie aura felt heavy, pressing down on him like an invisible force.

Emrys stopped. He felt difficulty in walking forward. But there was no way he would stop here. He took a step forward again.

The moment he did, the ground under his feet shook slightly. Then, without warning, a strange power rushed toward him from all directions.

This power was different from anything he had felt before. It was cold and sinister. It did not attack him directly but surrounded him from every direction.

Emrys narrowed his eyes.

"This power... It feels like Abyss."

Yes, the deeper he went, the more sinister his surroundings became. The aura of Abyss also increased in concentration. Emrys would not be surprised even if Abyssal Creatures were to appear here.

Fortunately, nothing like that happened.

Emrys was having difficulty in walking ahead. The pressure on his body was increasing by at least twofold with every step he took.

In the end, Emrys decided to become closer to the abyss. Perhaps, that way, he would feel no obstruction in his path ahead.

Dark mist emerged from Emrys’s body and very soon, Emrys’s entire being, including his silver hair and golden eyes, turned dark. A sinister atmosphere formed around him, and he felt more like a monster than a human now.

Emrys’s entire appearance changed, and it was all due to the Dark River and...the deformed sword.

"It seems the deformed sword did not just devour the Mist of Abyss, it also affected the Mist of Abyss in some strange way."

Emrys took a deep breath and then focused.

Indeed, as he had expected, after this simple transformation, the pressure he was enduring suddenly disappeared. In fact, the aura of Abyss seemed to have sensed its kin, it started rushing at Emrys, wanting to drill into his body.

However, Emrys didn’t want that to happen, so the aura of Abyss could only float around him.

Emrys’s target was the Archway. So, he continued forward, however, this cave didn’t seem to have an end. In the end, Emrys could only resort to using another method.

He released his spiritual sense. His spiritual sense moved deeper into the cave like a wide network.

As his spiritual sense traveled, he felt many strange things. The deeper parts of the cave were filled with the aura of Abyss. It was thick and heavy, almost like a dark fog that covered everything.

Then, his spiritual sense touched something strong. It was a powerful but dark. Furthermore, it felt different from anything else in the cave.

However, Emrys was still familiar with its structure.

It was the Archway.

The structure of this archway was similar to the one in his possession, however, there were still some differences. The main differences lie in the patterns covering the archway, and a giant door attached to it.

Taking a deep breath, Emrys stepped forward.

Just one step and he disappeared, appearing right in front of the archway. He felt no resistance from the surroundings. In fact, he sensed the Archway calling him. For some unknown reason, he felt very close to this archway. It was as if he had seen it somewhere before.

Then again, he was sure he never saw an archway like this. This was the first time he was facing an archway that could lead to the abyss directly.

Of course, it has to be activated before it can warp people.

Emrys observed the giant door attached to the archway. It was a stone gate covered in divine runes, but these runes were twisted, and corrupted by the Abyss. The gate looked old as if it had existed for countless years.

"To activate this archway and open the gate to the abyss, Gerald willingly used the Celestial Horizon and the four worlds as sacrifices. Fortunately, I discovered everything in time. Otherwise, this universe would have suffered greatly."

Emrys sighed and then extended his hand to touch the archway.

Woosh!

The instant his hand came in contact with the archway, something happened.

Somewhere deep within Emrys, somewhere where Emrys himself could not see, it was so dark that not an inch ahead could be seen. In the heart of this darkness, a single point of deep red light was glowing ominously.

This was not an ordinary red light. It was in fact a complete space that appeared more like a mini world. This space was not that big; it was only about tens of thousands of miles.

If someone were to step in, they would immediately have a foreboding sensation. The landscape inside this space was bathed in blood. Right at the center of this bloody space, a man was suspended in the air. His body was pierced and wrapped in eight blood-red chains inscribed with mysterious runes. The constraint brought about by these blood-red chains bound him completely, preventing him from making any movement.

Most importantly, one end of each of these chains was connected to the sky while the other end was connected to the land below.
