Chapter 240: Ch 240: Attempt To Open The Mysterious Box

After winning the auction for the Celestial Jade Tablet and the mysterious box, Emrys paid for everything using all the money he had left. But even that wasn’t enough to cover the entire cost. So, he took out two more treasures, each valued at around the same price as the B-3 rank sword he had put up for auction earlier. These treasures completed the payment, allowing Emrys to obtain the items he had bid for.

Once the payment was settled, Emrys left the Gale Pavilion Auction House with Andrea, Laura, and Caruso. He looked calm and relaxed, but Andrea, Laura, and Caruso were still shocked. They couldn’t believe how much wealth Emrys had spent in just one day. It was a staggering amount, even for those who were used to seeing treasures and riches.

As soon as they stepped outside, Emrys stopped and turned to the three of them. Without hesitation, he took out three more B-3 weapons, similar in quality and strength to the one he had auctioned. Each of these weapons was exquisitely crafted and their energy signatures glowed brightly in the night.

"I’m giving these to you for helping me with the auction," Emrys said, smiling faintly.

Andrea, Laura, and Caruso were stunned. They didn’t expect Emrys to reward them with such powerful weapons. B-3 rank weapons were not something that could be found easily, even in the Infinite Soul Star. Usually, only Glowing Red Star Soul Masters could wield them, making them rare and highly sought after.

"Take them," Emrys insisted when he saw their hesitation. "It’s just a small token of appreciation."

Seeing Emrys insist, the three of them accepted the weapons gratefully. They had seen the value of similar B-3 rank weapons during the auction earlier, and they knew how precious these items were. It was clear that Emrys had a deep treasure trove.

Back when Emrys entered the mysterious space where the Arkhaven Warship was hidden, he found numerous weapons and treasures from skeletons who used to be powerful cultivators from the Qi Cultivation World. These included several items of similar grade. It can be said that Emrys currently has a vast reserve of resources.

Even now, after giving away three B-3 weapons, Emrys still had a few more weapons and treasures in his possession.

After partying ways with Andrea, Laura, and Caruso, Emrys returned to the hotel.

Inside his room at the hotel, Emrys sat on the sofa and took out the Celestial Jade Tablet. He placed the jade tablet carefully in front of him and started to observe it. The Celestial Jade Tablet looked ordinary at first glance. It was smooth, oval-shaped, and about the size of a person’s palm. Its surface was a light shade of green, resembling delicate jade. However, the moment he touched it, a slight warmth spread through his fingertips.

This warmth was not just a physical sensation, it also seemed to resonate with his soul. At that moment, Emrys felt as if the flow of time around him had slowed down a little, but that feeling went as soon as it came.

As he continued to inspect it, faint lines of light began to appear on the surface, forming intricate patterns that were both mesmerizing and mysterious.

He focused his mind, trying to sense the energy within the tablet. Immediately, he could feel a deep and powerful force hidden inside. This force wasn’t chaotic or wild; it was calm and steady, like the passage of time itself.

Emrys narrowed his eyes as he tried to understand more. He carefully traced the patterns with his fingers, feeling the energy flow beneath the surface. The tablet reacted slightly, and he felt a faint pulse of energy traveling up his arm and into his body. For a moment, he thought he could hear the ticking of a clock somewhere far away, but when he looked around, everything was quiet.

After thinking for a while, Emrys shook his head and silently put the Celestial Jade Tablet back into his dimensional space. It was not the time to utilize the power of time by using the Celestial Jade Tablet. He still has several things to do, and he wanted to complete them as soon as possible, and then ascend to the Spiritarium.

Emrys took a deep breath and took out the small nondescript box. Then he focused on this mysterious box. It was not very large, just about the size of a small book. The surface was smooth and unadorned, with no markings or symbols to indicate what was inside. Yet, as soon as he held it, he felt a strange energy radiating from it.

As he held the box, he could feel his three Soul Marks stirring within him. Each of them was reacting to the box in its own way. The Soul Spirits also opened their eyes wide. They screeched and roared loudly. Emrys could not tell if they were afraid or excited. Perhaps they sensed something within the box that he could not.

At the same time, his Cosmic Essence Core also reacted. It trembled and vibrated heavily, as if something within it was stirred and wanted to come out.

Of course, there was nothing inside his Cosmic Essence Core.

Curiosity took hold of him. Emrys decided to channel his Soul Force into the box, hoping to unlock its secrets. He closed his eyes and focused, feeling the familiar warmth of his Soul Force as he gathered it. With a gentle push, he directed this energy into the box.

As soon as his Soul Force touched the surface of the box, it trembled slightly in his hands. A surge of energy radiated outward, filling the room with a strange light. Emrys opened his eyes in surprise. The box seemed to shudder and react to his Soul Force. It even pulsated with energy like a heartbeat. At the same time, he felt as if the box was alive and aware of his every action.

However, despite the box’s reaction, it did not open. Emrys tried again, pouring more of his Soul Force into it. This time, the box shook more violently and a bright light flared up, illuminating the entire room. He felt his Soul Spirits stirring even more, their roars echoing in his ears. Still, the box remained closed. No matter how hard he tried, it just wouldn’t budge.

Emrys was frustrated and annoyed because the box was not opening.

Then he took a moment to collect his thoughts and wondered, "What is this thing?"

It was clear that this box held something very important. The way his Soul Marks and Cosmic Essence Core reacted to it and the way it reacted to his Soul Force made him believe that it could be a powerful treasure, a very important one at that.

He took a deep breath and focused again, this time channeling a steady flow of Soul Force into the box. He imagined a key unlocking a door, picturing the energy flowing smoothly and steadily. For a brief moment, he thought he felt a slight gap but then the box simply trembled again without opening.

Even after several attempts, when the box did not open, Emrys realized that opening the box with only Soul Force was impossible.

Then, Emrys decided to try opening the box using his Cosmic Energy.
