Chapter 241: Ch 241: Celestial Horizon
Chapter 241: Ch 241: Celestial Horizon
Since the Soul Force didn’t work, maybe using Cosmic Energy would open the box. Hoping for Cosmic Energy to have a different effect, Emrys closed his eyes and focused, gathering his Cosmic Energy. Then, he channeled it into the box, letting the energy flow steadily through his fingertips. As soon as the Cosmic Energy touched the surface of the box, something incredible happened.
The box immediately started to glow with a dazzling light. This time, it was much brighter than before. Simultaneously, a deep humming sound vibrated through the air and filled the room. The energy from the box surged outward like a wave, shaking the ground and walls around Emrys. It felt as though the entire room was trembling under the pressure of the box’s reaction.
The bright light pulsed in a rhythm and the box emitted a strong force that even pushed Emrys back slightly. He stumbled but quickly regained his balance. He could feel the Cosmic Energy inside the box swirling and shifting. It was like a powerful storm trapped within a small space. The energy was so intense that even his Soul Spirits, which had been screeching and roaring earlier, fell silent.
Unfortunately, despite this powerful reaction, the box still didn’t open.
Emrys furrowed his brow in frustration. He had never encountered something like this before. He couldn’t understand why the box was not opening.
While he was trying to open the box, he could feel that the phenomenal reaction was coming from the box itself, instead, it was coming from something sealed inside the box.
Gritting his teeth, he decided to give it a try again. He gathered even more Cosmic Energy and sent another strong stream into the box.
Surprisingly, the reaction this time, however, was much weaker than before. For some reason, the earlier strong reaction didn’t appear. The light around the box was much dimmer and the vibrations in the room were not as strong. This reaction was almost similar to that of Soul Force.
"Why?"
Emrys wondered why the reaction leveled down so much. The reaction earlier was obviously much stronger.
Why is that?
Not being able to find a reason, Emrys shook his head while inhaling deeply. He could tell that the box held a great secret, but it wasn’t going to be easy to uncover it.
"Why won’t you open?" Emrys murmured, staring at the box. He tried to think of another way to unlock it, but for now, he decided to stop and conserve his energy. He knew that forcing it wouldn’t work, and he didn’t want to damage whatever was inside. He needed to find a different method to open this box instead of using just raw power.
For now, he put the box back in his dimensional space and started to rest.
Tomorrow, he was planning to enter the Celestial Horizon.
.....
The next day, Emrys left the hotel and flew in the direction that was attracting him from the moment he returned to the Infinite Soul Star.
He was flying at a full speed.
It has to be known that Emrys was currently a Mystical Mist Soul Master. In other words, his strength has already surpassed the limit of what a person could cultivate in the Infinite Soul Star.
His speed here could be imagined!
He was too fast, but even with such incredible speed, it took him two whole days to arrive in a deep valley.
This valley was located in the southernmost part of the Infinite Soul Star.
This valley was hidden from normal detection, surrounded by towering mountains and dense misty fog. The atmosphere around the valley was unusually heavy, as if it contained ancient and powerful energy. The closer Emrys got to the location, the stronger the pull became, guiding him toward the center of the valley.
After two or three minutes, Emrys landed gracefully on the ground. His eyes scanned the surroundings.
The valley was eerily quiet, with no signs of life. Yet, something about the place here felt alive.
As he walked deeper into the valley, Emrys could sense that the energy was not just calling to him but testing him, as if determining whether he was worthy of discovering whatever lay hidden here.
His Soul Marks throbbed slightly, reacting to the unseen force within the valley.
Very soon, Emrys arrived in front of a huge wall. This was no ordinary wall; it was made entirely of thick thorny vines that twisted and intertwined tightly together. The vines were pulsing with a vibrant energy, making it clear that they were not just plants but a barrier of some sort.
Emrys examined the wall closely. Surprisingly, he sensed space force behind this thorny wall, and that force was the very thing that had drawn him here. The vines seemed to be alive, reacting to his presence as if they were aware of him.
Without hesitation, Emrys reached out, sending a wave of Soul Force into the vines. The vines trembled in response but didn’t open. Their resistance was formidable, almost as if they were testing his strength.
Emrys could tell that only a Glorious Golden Star Soul Master could erupt with enough strength to break these vines.
Earlier, Emrys was only using a fraction of his Soul Force. This time, he didn’t hesitate to attack the thorny vines, shattering them instantly.
What appeared behind these vines was a huge crack in the air in front of him. This was a spatial crack that connected two different lands together. This was also the path that can lead a person to the Celestial Horizon.
"It is time!"
Taking a deep breath, Emrys stepped into the spatial crack and instantly disappeared.
The moment he reappeared, he found himself standing on a vast battlefield.
The land in front of him stretched endlessly in all directions. It was covered with deep cracks and scorch marks, as if countless battles had taken place here over many years. Broken weapons and shattered pieces of armor were scattered across the ground, and the air was thick with the smell of blood and ash. The sky above was dark with swirling clouds that seemed to hang low, casting an eerie dim light over the scene. Flashes of lightning were occasionally illuminating the battlefield, revealing the remnants of large structures that had been destroyed, leaving only ruins behind.
This seemed to be a battlefield that had been here for countless years. What is more, a war was being fought here at this time as well.
Emrys could see countless powerful Soul Masters engaged in fierce combat. Each one of them radiated incredible power, and even the weakest among them were Mystical Mist Soul Masters. Their energies clashed and collided in the air, creating shockwaves that rattled the ground beneath their feet.
These Soul Masters were facing off against enormous Soul Beasts. Every Soul Beast here had terrifying strength and size. Some had multiple heads, others had bodies covered in scales, and still others had wings that blocked out the sky as they flew overhead. The Soul Beasts were roaring and howling. Their attacks were shaking the very earth and injuring Soul Masters.
Soul Masters were not to be left behind. Their attacks also dealt heavy damage to Soul Beasts.
"What is going on here?"
Emrys raised his brows in shock. He didn’t expect the first thing he would witness after appearing in the Celestial Horizon was a big war being fought between Soul Masters and Soul Beasts.
Because he could see countless Mystical Mist Soul Masters and even Celestial Spirit Soul Masters, there was no need for him to ask someone, he was certain what this place was. He was sure this was the Celestial Horizon.
The battlefield was in complete chaos. Flames, ice shards, beams of light, along with Soul Attacks shot through the air as Soul Masters unleashed their abilities against the Soul Beasts.
The ground trembled under the weight of their power and the sky was filled with the sounds of explosions, roars, and battle cries. Some Soul Masters fought in groups, working together to take down the larger Soul Beasts, while others fought alone, their faces set with determination as they battled their enemies.
The entire scene was overwhelming. It was filled with only chaos and destruction.
"Roar!"
While Emrys was watching the battlefield in shock, he was suddenly attacked by a massive Soul Beast.
Without even glancing at the creature, Emrys reacted instinctively and threw a powerful punch.
"BOOM!"
His fist struck the beast’s head with incredible force, causing it to explode like a watermelon, scattering pieces everywhere.
"Soul Devour!"
The instant he attacked, he reacted and activated his skill to devour souls. He focused on the beast’s soul, absorbing it before the opportunity slipped away. This quick action ensured that the devouring process was successful. Otherwise, he would have failed.
One rule for devouring a soul is that he must act quickly and devour the soul immediately after killing someone or injuring them heavily to the state where they can no longer put up any sort of struggle.
As he consumed the soul, he felt his Soul Cultivation strengthen, a rush of energy surging through him.
Along with the power came a flood of memories from the defeated beast. Images and sensations filled his mind, offering glimpses into the creature’s life and experiences.
