Walker Of The Blue Sky

Chapter 239: Ch 239: The Mysterious Box

Chapter 239: Ch 239: The Mysterious Box

As time went on, the bidding for the Celestial Jade Tablet continued to rise, albeit more slowly now that it had reached a level where only two or three individuals could continue increasing their offers.

In the end, Emrys secured the Celestial Jade Tablet for 25 trillion credits.

Andrea, Laura, and Caurso stared at Emrys with wide eyes, as if they were looking at a tycoon. They knew Emrys was powerful but hadn’t expected him to be rich as well—crazy wealthy, at that.

Generally speaking, the last item of the auction was usually the most valuable. However, the value of the Celestial Jade Tablet was something no one thought another item could match.

Emrys thought the same. Most importantly, he was still not sure whether the Celestial Jade Tablet was the item Elysia talked about or not.

The auction continued, and items were sold one after another.

Very soon, the sword Emrys put up for auction also surfaced in front of everyone which shocked the crowd. It is because this grade of sword is not easy to appear in the Infinite Soul Star.

It has to be known that this sword was a B-3 Weapon, but its value was almost comparable to a B-2 Weapon that only a Glowing Blue Star Soul Master is qualified to hold, and Glowing Soul Masters is the strongest in the entire Infinite Soul Star.

This fact alone made the value of this weapon only slightly less than that of the Celestial Jade Tablet.

People went mad to buy this weapon, and it was sold for 18 Trillion Credits.

That night, the final item of the auction finally surfaced. This item was a small nondescript box. The auctioneer’s voice took on a serious tone. "Ladies and gentlemen, the final item of the Grand Auction is an unknown treasure brought here by the organizers. We don’t know its origin or purpose, but all Soul Masters sensed a powerful energy signature radiating from within this box that actually stirred our Soul Marks."

Emrys frowned slightly as he stared at the small nondescript box. Though it seemed ordinary at first glance, a strange aura radiated from it. This energy not only stirred his Soul Marks but also caused a strong reaction from his Cosmic Essence Core. He shuddered almost in disbelief. The Cosmic Essence Core belonged to the Cosmic Cultivation System, while Soul Marks came from the Soul Cultivation System. Both systems were entirely different. Yet, this box’s energy was somehow making elements from both systems in his body react in a crazy manner.

Emrys’s mind raced, trying to figure out what could possibly link these two distinct cultivation paths. He took a deep breath and narrowed his eyes, feeling a sense of unease and excitement.

What could this unknown treasure be?

"Since this treasure can affect every Soul Master’s Soul Mark," the auctioneer explained, "it means that it’s directly connected to Soul Marks and is capable of influencing, evolving, or even increasing a Soul Master’s strength. It may have other effects that we are unaware of, and only the one who wins this bid will get to discover them. We have never encountered anything like this before, and it’s possible we’ll never see it again in the future."

His words caused the entire hall to buzz with excitement. Low voices filled the compartments as everyone tried to guess what kind of treasure this could be.

A treasure that could directly enhance Soul Marks was incredibly rare. Some people hurriedly contacted their higher-ups, eager to participate.

The auctioneer then announced with a smile, "The starting bid is only 5 Trillion Credits. There is no fixed limit to how much bid an individual has to increase. Oh, if anyone doesn’t have enough money, they can still continue to bid accordingly. Later, they can pay with valuable items."

Everyone started crazily increasing the bid for this unknown item. In the shortest time possible, the bid for this treasure reached as high as 10 Trillion Credits. Emrys was not the one to back down now that both his Soul Mark and Cosmic Essence Core had reacted crazily to that simple box. He also started bidding.

As for money, it no longer mattered. He has many items in his hand and can pay using them.

As the bidding continued, Emrys noticed that other powerful individuals were also becoming more interested in the box. Some were even sending out their Soul Senses to probe its mysteries. But as soon as their Soul Senses approached, the box would release a repulsive force, preventing them from getting a deeper look. This only fueled the curiosity of everyone present.

A wave of noises filled the auction house. Many were wondering if this item could be some sort of unique treasure that defied conventional understanding. Some speculated it might be an artifact from a long-lost civilization, while others believed it could be a rare item that could break through cultivation limits. Nobody knew for sure.

Emrys clenched his fists, trying to calm the tumultuous energy in his body. He had seen countless treasures and artifacts even though he had not lived for long, mainly when he was in the Eternal Paradise, but never one that could simultaneously resonate with both Soul and Cosmic energies. This was unprecedented.

He began to recall Elysia’s words.

Was this the item she had mentioned?

It is most likely!

After all, it was she who sent him to the fragmented Cosmic World. It was also she who wanted him to start cultivating in the Cosmic Cultivation System.

An item that could make both his Soul and Cosmic Energies react was indeed something extraordinary. A treasure that could bring about changes in both cultivation systems could be the key to reaching new heights.

He also became curious about this item’s origin.

The bidding started at 5 trillion credits, a hefty price considering no one knew what the item was. Still, the price rose steadily, indicating just how much value the bidders saw in the mysterious box. Not even a minute passed after its price reached 10 Trillion Credits when the bid reached 12 trillion credits in seconds.

Emrys watched intently. He had spent a significant amount on the Celestial Jade Tablet. Even though he had a few trillion credits left, it was clear that this item’s price would far surpass that of the Celestial Jade Tablet.

No wonder it was put as the last item of the Grand Auction.

When the bid hit 15 trillion credits, Emrys pressed the bidding device again, raising the bid to 17 trillion credits.

Noise ran through the crowd of people present in all the compartments. After all, the bid was increased by two trillion credits by a single person in one go. It is not a small increase.

Although everyone in the Gale Pavilion Auction House was shocked, not many backed down. They continued to increase the bid and this process continued for the next fifteen minutes.

The price of this unknown item reached as high as 36 Trillion Credits.

Now, other than Emrys, only one other person continued bidding, pushing the price up to 38 trillion.

The entire auction house was silent.

Even the auctioneer’s breathing had become deep.

Emrys stayed silent for a moment. His mind was set. He didn’t want to let go of this box. He could feel that it held something important. Gritting his teeth, he pressed the bidding device again, raising it to 40 trillion credits.

The already silent hall felt more like a void at that moment. Even the last remaining bidder hesitated and no longer increased the bid. After a few tense moments, no further bids came.

Seeing this, the auctioneer announced the winner as his voice rang out: "Sold! For 40 trillion credits, to the bidder in compartment AX303!"

Since it was the last item, the auctioneer personally announced the final winner instead of letting the bidding device show it.

Even with Emrys’s strength and cultivation, he didn’t realize he was holding his breaths. He let out a deep breath and felt that he had done it. He had won the item. What could be inside this small mysterious box that had caused such a huge reaction in his body?

As the auction concluded, it was finally time to settle the items and make payments. A few representatives from the Gale Pavilion came forward, carrying a few items along carefully.

A few of them were won by Andrea, Laura, and Caruso. Two were for Emrys.

Emrys accepted the Celestial Jade Tablet and the mysterious box with both hands, feeling a strange warmth emanate from it. At the same time his hand touched the mysterious box, Emrys felt the Soul Spirits belonging to his three Soul Marks awakened, eyeing the box intently. Even the Cosmic Energy had started crazily surging through his body. The Cosmic Essence Core almost went chaotic.

Taking a deep breath, he directly kept the two items in his dimensional space instead of putting them in his spatial ring.

Emrys knew he would have to take his time to unravel the secrets of this peculiar treasure.

Finally, it was time for him to pay for the items he took away first.
