Chapter 169: Ch 169: Spatial Blade (2)

Chapter 169: Ch 169: Spatial Blade (2)

As Emrys continued to inject Space Energy into the blade, the intensity at which the blade vibrated grew stronger and stronger.

The Scaled Lungfish squinted its eyes, feeling a sense of threat from Emrys’s blade. Its gaze turned icy, and it roared in anger. in order to attack with an energy ball, it has to first gather enough energy. Gathering enough energy takes time.

It seems Emrys was also gathering Space Energy which is taking time as well. In order to interrupt Emrys, the Scaled Lungfish swept its huge tail horizontally. The air around it was compressed to the maximum before exploding. The tail swung towards Emrys, bringing along a terrifying force with it.

Emrys snorted coldly. He was already on high alert and knew the beast might do something to stop or injure him. The moment the beast acted, Emrys turned into a lingering shadow and disappeared. He didn’t fight the Scaled Lungfish face-on.

Instant later, he appeared right above the beast’s back. It was a perfect opportunity to strike. Moreover, the blade in his hand had already charged up to the maximum, vibrating at a frequency that actually caused an illusion to appear which made it seem as if the space itself was distorting around the blade.

Seizing the opportunity, Emrys activated his Spatial Blade ability, slashing the blade through the air with a swipe of his hand.

Shua~

A thin, almost invisible blade of silver light shot out. One moment, this silver blade light was just released by Emrys, the next moment, it easily passed through the beast’s body, slicing the land on the ground.

"Howl!"

The Scaled Lungfish howled in pain as the Spatial Blade passed through its body. It did not feel anything, but its instinct told it that Emrys’s previous attack was very terrifying. This creature still had the lingering fear in its heart and retreated, trying to escape back into the lake.

That attack made the Scaled Lunfish horror-struck.

That sensation, that feeling of death, it was horrifying.

Emrys did not stop the beast from running. He silently kept the blade and observed the Scaled Lungfish escaping.

But then...

Thud!

The beast had only just reached the edge of the lake when its bottom half was separated from the body and fell down. The remaining half of its body made it to the lake before crashing right into the water, sending waves to the shore.

Howl...

A hiss of agony came from the mouth of the beast. It wriggled a few times before it abruptly stopped moving.

If anyone were to look at the cut that separated the beast’s body into two halves, they would find that it was clean, so clean that not a single drop of blood fell out of its body. A weird silver energy was completely blocking the blood from flowing out. Most importantly, this energy was not only blocking the blood from flowing out, it had actually invaded the beast’s body, slashing the beast internally.

As the beast died, the space energy slowly faded away, and it was only then blood began to spray out of the beast’s two halves and dye the lake’s water red.

The Abyssal: (⊙_⊙?)

He could not be more astonished. Most importantly, when Emrys unleashed Spatial Blade, even the Abyssal felt the sensation of death.

But then, it heaved a sigh of relief. At least, the beast was now killed. It was saved. All it needed to do now was recover quickly and then take away the Nether Water Herb that was still somewhere deep down the lake.

As for Emrys, the Abyssal was not worried. It did not believe that Emrys would know about Nether Water Herb. This Herb is something that he got to know about accidentally, and it is impossible for others to know.

Had the Abyssal known that it was he who gave Emrys this information "accidentally", it would not know whether to cry slowly or loudly.

Crackle~

Suddenly, crackling noises reverberated into the air.

Emrys frowned and looked at the blade that had started cracking. In the next moment, it shattered into many pieces.

The blade broke?

Emrys squinted his eyes, but he soon understood the reason.

The blade was unable to withstand the intense frequency at which the space energy made it vibrate. In simple words, the blade was not durable enough to endure the pressure of space energy and shattered into pieces after a single attack.

"No wonder the Spatial Blade is an Origin Skill that manipulates Space-attributed Energy into the form of a blade before being unleashed. It must be because no physical weapon can handle the energy’s intensity. The stronger my opponent, the more powerful the attack becomes. If I tried to use an actual blade to execute the Spatial Blade, the weapon would likely shatter with each use. I can’t keep replacing blades every time I use the skill."

Emrys sighed in his heart but he was not disappointed. In fact, he was feeling joyful inwardly.

This was the first time he unleashed the Spatial Blade skill, and this skill did not disappoint him. It has to be known that he did not fully unleash the potential of this skill due to using a physical weapon instead of directly releasing this skill.

Shaking his head, Emrys walked to the deformed sword that the Abyssal lost during its battle with Scaled Beast long ago, picked it up, and then approached the Scaled Beast.

At first, Emrys thought that it was just a deformed sword, but only after holding it in hand that he understood that this sword was not ordinary at all. He could feel a dark and disturbing energy, although minute, exuding from the blade.

"Abyssal Energy?"

Emrys immediately recognized this energy.

How can he not when he also has the attribute of Abyss?

The abyssal energy was trying to invade Emrys’s body, however, dark mist immediately surrounded Emrys’s hand and calmed the sword. The blade instead sent a wave of emotion to Emrys directly and started to eat the dark mist around Emrys’s hand. This dark mist was filled with Abyssal Energy.

Mist of Abyss?

The Abyssal saw this scene and could not help but frown. It did not expect Emrys to use something that belonged to Abyss.

Indeed, although the dark mist was filled with Abyssal Energy, it was not pure Abyssal Energy. In fact, it was called the Mist of Abyss that came out directly from Emrys’s Dark River.

However, Emrys didn’t know this. He thought this was Abyssal Energy. That’s all.
