Walker Of The Blue Sky

Chapter 126: Ch 126: The Disk (2)

Chapter 126: Ch 126: The Disk (2)

When the first pattern was completely filled with space-attributed energy, the disk suddenly exploded with resplendent light. Immediately, distorted waves swept over as the surrounding space rippled like water. Emrys felt a pull, as if the disk was trying to draw him into another dimension.

Not just Emrys, Mu Bailing also had the same sensation. It was just that the pulling force she experienced was at least two times less than what Emrys experienced.

Unfortunately, as soon as the pulling force appeared, it disappeared as well.

"What happened?" Mu Bailing asked with a frown on her face, not understanding why the spatial distortion and sensation of entering another dimension disappeared so quickly.

Emrys, on the other hand, was completely sweaty. He first wiped the sweat from his forehead before speaking, "This disk consumes too much energy. I am still too weak to manipulate a large amount of space-attributed energy. I have already reached my limit and was able to light up only one of the patterns, and that was just for a short while."

"When will you be able to fully activate it?" Mu Bailing asked, her curiosity and concern evident in her voice.

Emrys took a deep breath, considering his current capabilities.

"It’s hard to say," he replied. "I need to further strengthen my space-attributed body and enhance my control over the spatial energy. This will require more time and practice. The disk’s demand for energy is immense, far beyond my current abilities. I don’t know when I’ll be able to fully activate all the patterns on the disk, but I know that activating one pattern needs me to reach a higher level of mastery in both my connection with spatial energy and my cultivation."

"I see." Mu Bailing nodded, understanding the situation.

Emrys thought of something and said, "I don’t think just the reaction of this disk is enough to make you willingly risk your life to save me, right?"

"In a normal case, that is true," Mu Bailing replied without thinking for even a second. "But my master allowed me to keep this disk, and after that, she disappeared. You could say that this disk is the last gift I have from my master. Anything related to this disk is definitely worth putting my life in danger."

Only now did Emrys understand why Mu Bailing took such a huge risk to save him?

Observing the disk in his hand and feeling the constant tremble of his first Soul Mark, Emrys could not help but ask, "Can I keep this disk?"

Mu Bailing frowned deeply hearing this. She looked at the disk in Emrys’s hand worriedly, feeling scared that Emrys might not want to return the disk to her.

Seeing her like this, Emrys waggled his head, "I will not take this disk for free. I can exchange it with another item if you want."

Mu Bailing shook her head in denial, saying, "No, I don’t want to. For me, the value of this disk is priceless. I won’t exchange it!"

Emrys sighed. He understood that the disk was the last gift from Mu Bailing’s master, making its existence deeply sentimental to her. Since she did not want to exchange it, Emrys did not force her.

However, it doesn’t mean that he had let go of the idea of obtaining the disk for himself.

No, he did not.

It is just that he felt now was not the right time. So, he decided to first look for the Skyfire Heartseed instead. Along the way, if he can find a treasure that will catch Mu Bailing’s attention, he may be able to exchange that treasure for the disk.

Currently, he has two Mysterious Sky Fruits. He planned to consume one himself. As for the other, he decided to keep it for the time being, thinking it might come in handy in the future.

He would not consume both fruits because Ye Yun had told him once that the Mysterious Sky Fruits only work the first time after consumption. After that, no matter how many of these fruits are consumed by a person, they will never advance in the Twelve Steps again.

Emrys returned the disk to Mu Bailing, who hurriedly took it back. Perhaps she has a storage device but the disk disappeared in her hand. Obviously, it was kept in the storage device by her.

Sensitive to the space energy, his attention was immediately attracted to the ring on her right hand’s index finger. This ring was that storage device.

Emrys sighed in his heart again. Due to losing his backpack, Emrys was facing a huge problem of storing things somewhere. Keeping the Mysterious Sky Fruits in the pocket constantly is not a correct decision. It’ll be better to somehow obtain a storage device.

He wanted to ask whether Mu Bailing had another one of the storage rings or not, but he refrained from asking because he already owes her his life. By saving her this time and helping her restore the lost vitality, he’ll completely pay her back.

He doesn’t want to owe her a favor again by asking for an extra storage ring she might have in her possession.

"What do you plan to do while I’m gone?" Emrys asked curiously, carefully folding the map and keeping it in his pocket.

"I’ll wait for you here," Mu Bailing spoke and continued, "I can feel that I don’t have long to live. I think I’m only left with slightly more than a year to live. I hope you come back within this period of time with Skyfire Heartseed. Otherwise, I’ll die here!"

She was in a position where she could go and look for a way to live herself. Due to losing her life force, she has aged a lot not only in terms of appearance but also in terms of strength. She was no longer as powerful as she was before. She is weakened.

"Then be careful!"

Emrys advised to which Mu Bailing nodded. Emrys also noted the fact that he has about a year to return to this cave.

Taking a last look at the cave and Mu Bailing, Emrys left, leaving to start a journey to find a Skyfire Heartseed and bring it back.
