Chapter 420 - 223: Settlements in the Dream Realm_2

Without this Scythe, the Dream Death God’s power would be halved. The problem was that the Dream Death God’s strongest attack involved pouring special Energy into the Scythe and then hurling it. With perfect control of the Scythe, unexpected effects could be achieved.

This situation made Alka immediately withdraw from the Dream Death God state, while the black Scythe held in the chest of the shadow Death God shattered with a mirror-like effect. The Mirror Surface receded into Alka’s face. A large amount of pink mist gushed out.

However, when Alka revealed his true face, the dream giant immediately froze in place, then turned and fled in terror. Its state was just like the Dream Death God seen before, as if it had encountered a natural enemy.

Yet, this shadow giant’s escape speed was far worse than that of the Dream Death God. Even though it tried its best to flee, it remained within Alka’s attack range. Alka threw spears one after another, quickly penetrating the giant of light and shadow.

The shadow giant continued until it could run no more. But even then, it still showed no intention of resisting, continually shrinking back. The emotion of fear was completely exposed; even though its life was severely threatened, it still had no intention of fighting back, its mind solely focused on escape.

When Alka arrived in front of the shadow giant, the black light and shadow on its body even began to disintegrate, and the emotion of fear spread madly outwards.

Alka frowned deeply.

Is it really necessary? To be this scared.

The mist spears penetrating the monster’s body began to crumble, transforming into pink mist that enveloped it. Roars of intense fear continued to echo, but its fierce struggles were unable to break through the pink mist’s envelopment until it was completely covered.

This was Alka’s first time in the Dream Realm taking down a monster that clearly possessed some intelligence. The last Dream Death God had escaped too quickly. Looking at the huge pink mist ball, half a meter wide, Alka couldn’t help but feel a bit of anticipation.

Yet the pink mist ball continued to compress, soon shrinking to the size of his palm—even smaller than the previous pink mist balls.

Looking at this tiny pink mist ball in his hand, Alka frowned, then absorbed the cloud of mist on its surface. Though the sphere of mist was small, the mist it contained was abundant. It took him quite a while to fully absorb it into his body, revealing the object inside.

Alka pinched the small round bead, only the size of his pinky fingertip, between his thumb and index finger, holding it before his eyes. This was a black Pearl, almost entirely pure black. When moved swiftly, one could see a distinct black trail behind the Pearl.

Seeing the Pearl, a smile appeared on Alka’s face. With each trophy he acquired, he could understand its function. This item was a typical energy block; simply put, it was filled with Dream Realm energy.

Alka crushed it and threw it into his Dream Bubble. Then he also entered the Dream Bubble.

The shattering of the black Pearl released a large number of golden orbs of light, which rapidly poured into the crystal. In an instant, a corner of the crystal was completely filled. Then, these spheres of light and shadow Energy began to scatter and fly about within the crystal.

The golden energy from such a small black Pearl was more than Alka had gained in several months in the Dream Realm of the Advance Route—even twice as much. This energy gain brought a smile to Alka’s face.

Indeed, the Advance Route really is a poor place.

But when he thought about the limited uses for this energy, Alka’s smile gradually faded. Even with the Mirror connection reducing consumption, this Energy could only create six Lightning Rods.

There’s still a long way to go.

Then Alka returned to the outside world again, clearing out the Dream Realm monsters around the others’ Dream Bubbles one by one. These provided quite a few materials; he crushed some of the less useful items into Energy.

Looking at the Dream Bubbles scattered around and the various light-and-shadow monsters coming and going, There are so many monsters here. And in the future, those on the ship may awaken more frequently. I must find a way to protect everyone’s dreams. The Dream Realm becoming lively has both its pros and cons.

Yet, as of now, Alka had no solid ideas.

Sighing lightly, Alka rebuilt the detection device. He then recalibrated it, inputting the parameters for the Dream Bubbles of the surrounding terrestrial creatures. This would prevent the detection ripples from scanning the Dream Realms of ordinary beasts. Now, the feedback ripples would only detect the Dream Realms of intelligent beings or similarly powerful creatures.

Ripples began spreading outward.

Circle after circle.

Alka quietly waited in place.

According to his previous estimations based on distance, if the range of these detection ripples in the Dream Realm were translated to real-world detection distance, it would be approximately 60 to 150 kilometers. The fluctuation was significant, and this was based on real-world proportions in the Advance Route. Alka didn’t know if there would be differences in the Endless Sea, but he suspected there would be.

After all, this place is chaotic enough; nothing that happens here should be surprising.
