Chapter 1055: How Could There Be a Path to Immortality in This World? (63) — Penglai Treasure Vault

The sword's name: Green Lotus Sword Song

Suspended in midair, the sword slowly approached Qin Chuyu. Its slightly trembling blade, the soft hum it emitted, and the wisp of sky-blue sword light all seemed like a guide, drawing out the nearly dried-up spiritual power from within Qin Chuyu’s body, causing it to flow again from every part of her.

Her injuries remained.

But the sword intent she had once cultivated through a secret technique from her sect was now resonating.

Qin Chuyu instinctively reached out and grasped the approaching hilt of the Green Lotus Sword Song.

Zheng——!

The sword's resonance echoed from all directions.

At the same time, wisps of bluish smoke began swirling around her. The gentle blue smoke spread out from Qin Chuyu as the center, instantly radiating out over a hundred meters.

Slice!

The smoke acted like the sharpest blades, lightly brushing over everything and slicing through it — not in straight lines, but with soft, curved cuts like threads. Before Tai Yinzi, a multicolored light shield suddenly appeared, blocking the smoke — yet the smoke and the shield's collision emitted intense sizzling sounds.

Tai Yinzi shivered.

Gaia had changed... At some point, thin, iridescent wings spread from her back like a cicada’s. The six wings fluttered gently like catkins. Her ornate dress had tightened into a combat suit clinging to her skin. Black blades extended from both her wrists, and her legs transformed into streamlined armor.

Her violet eyes were now filled with countless overlapping diamond patterns.

【Danger detected】

These words came softly from Gaia’s mouth... Tai Yinzi was momentarily stunned.

Though he had only met Gaia twice, he immediately sensed something was off — she was serious.

But… Green Lotus Sword Song — that was their master’s sword!

Qin Chuyu looked at the Green Lotus Sword Song in her hand with mixed feelings — a sense of joy and sorrow. The moment she grasped the hilt, it pierced directly into her soul.

She seemed to hear a man’s soft whisper in that instant.

Qin Chuyu bit her lip, then gently swung the sword. The swirling bluish smoke, as if drawn by a force, rushed back into the blade.

The massive stone pillars within a hundred meters had already been sliced apart and collapsed to the ground with a thunderous crash.

In that moment, Gaia moved.

With a flap of her wings, she shot forward like a bullet, blades in hand — so fast that Qin Chuyu lost track of her.

But the Green Lotus Sword Song in her hand suddenly pulled with a strange force, guiding her arm to swing upward.

Boom——!

That was Gaia’s wrist blade clashing with the Green Lotus Sword Song. A visible shockwave rippled out from the impact point.

So heavy!

Qin Chuyu felt her hands go numb. She nearly lost her grip on the sword. The impact even forced her knees to bend slightly.

If this continued, even if the Green Lotus Sword Song could fight Gaia, her body would give out first!

If her master’s sword was here... then where was her master?

She couldn’t waste time here. Qin Chuyu quickly calculated in her mind.

“Gaia! Stop!”

Unexpectedly, Tai Yinzi shouted this command — and Gaia actually stopped mid-air and retreated.

However, she remained in battle mode.

【Source of danger detected. Suggest elimination】

“Enough of that crap! I told you to stop, so stop!” Tai Yinzi snapped at her.

Gaia’s violet pupils flickered. Her gaze fixed again on the Green Lotus Sword Song.

【Source of danger detected. Suggest elimination again, honored Subordinate Permission Holder】

“That’s my master’s sword! You dare touch it, and I’ll destroy you!”

Clearly, he couldn’t really destroy her — but Tai Yinzi’s expression was now grim. Gone was his usual mocking attitude.

Qin Chuyu frowned slightly.

Gaia stared at Tai Yinzi, but he met her gaze without flinching.

A moment later, the wings on Gaia’s back slowly retracted. Her ornate dress returned, and she gently floated to the ground.

Tai Yinzi, still wearing a grim expression, walked step by step toward Qin Chuyu.

Her expression was also complex. Tai Yinzi stopped before her — then suddenly dropped to his knees and kowtowed.

“Rebellious disciple Tai Yinzi pays respect to Master’s sword!”

Dong, dong, dong — three full kowtows.

After that, Tai Yinzi stood up again, his grim expression unchanged.

Qin Chuyu said nothing, though her lips moved slightly.

Tai Yinzi sighed and asked in a low voice, “Third Sister, why is Master’s sword here?”

“I don’t know.” Qin Chuyu sighed and shook her head. “Green Lotus Sword Song seemed to be drawn here by the sword intent of the Green Lotus Sword technique I practice.”

Tai Yinzi remained silent for a moment, watching her expression shift several times before biting his lip and saying, “Master disappeared mysteriously all those years ago and never returned. Even though you expelled me, I didn’t resist. Master named you sect leader — I never denied it. I wasn’t happy, but I accepted it. But…”

Qin Chuyu snorted coldly, “Master was gone, and you broke into his cultivation chamber trying to steal secret scrolls. Of course I had to expel you.”

Tai Yinzi shook his head. “Let’s set our grudges aside for now… Tell me, why did Master really disappear back then? You sealed me for five hundred years — are you still hiding the truth? Why did the Green Lotus Sword Song suddenly appear here? Can you really say you don’t know?”

Qin Chuyu smiled bitterly. “I truly don’t. Ever since I arrived in this place, I’ve constantly sensed traces of Master’s sword intent. But I’ve never found him. As for the Green Lotus Sword Song, I don’t know either. It’s just been here all this time.”

“Green Lotus Sword Song was a life-bound sword, forged with Master’s essence. He would never abandon it!” Tai Yinzi’s face changed slightly. “Could it be that Master…”

Tai Yinzi suddenly remembered something Gaia had said… Her reaction to the sword was strange — almost as if she had encountered it before, maybe even fought against it.

Had she fought his master?

Could Master have fallen… in battle with Gaia?

Tai Yinzi abruptly turned to Gaia, his face clouded over.

“Gaia, tell me honestly… did you fight the owner of this sword? Where is he now?”

【No traces of the individual’s life can be detected within the active range. Conclusion: deceased or has left.】

“So it’s true...” Tai Yinzi clenched his teeth, staring at Gaia with murderous intent. “You’d better pray I never find out you had anything to do with my master’s death. Otherwise… even if I have to quit being this damn envoy, I’ll take you down myself!”

【No traces of the individual’s life can be detected within the active range. Conclusion: deceased or has left.】

“You dumbass!” Tai Yinzi cursed. “Then tell me—why did you fight my master in the first place?!”

【Memory data missing. Unable to answer.】

“Damn it!” Tai Yinzi growled. “You really are broken! Your brain got fried or what?!”

Unexpectedly, Qin Chuyu suddenly asked, “Is this Penglai?”

Tai Yinzi looked at her in surprise. Qin Chuyu continued, “Master once said he found Penglai. He said he’d be back after visiting it once… but then he never returned. That’s all I know.”

【This is the Penglai Treasure Vault.】

Gaia spoke slowly. 【All life forms that enter the Penglai Treasure Vault automatically gain purchaser rights and may buy any item within the vault.】

Hearing this, Qin Chuyu frowned. “So this place really is similar to the Club… except…”

She glanced at Tai Yinzi again. He irritably snapped, “Don’t look at me! I don’t know anything! I’ve only been this damned envoy for less than a year. I’m clueless! And here, I’ve lost contact with the Boss—I don’t know if I’ve been restricted or if this place blocks the Boss’s perception! Weren’t you the one who bought yourself into humanity through the shop? You should know more than me!”

“This place feels out of place with your Club, yet it’s still similar… strange, I can’t explain it.” Qin Chuyu shook her head. “But since Master’s Green Lotus Sword Song appeared here, there may be more clues about him. What are you planning to do?”

“What else? Obviously—”

A sudden flash of red light plummeting from the sky interrupted Tai Yinzi mid-sentence.

After the light paused, a teenage girl in a baseball cap appeared, holding up a curvy foreign woman in her hand.

Su Zijun and Jessica!

As she landed, Su Zijun immediately spotted the Green Lotus Sword Song in Qin Chuyu’s hand. Then she looked around, her gaze quickly falling on Tai Yinzi standing next to Qin Chuyu.

“Black Soul?” Su Zijun frowned.

But she didn’t linger on him long. Her eyes swept the area again… pausing briefly when she saw Gaia. Her expression grew more serious.

Then her attention shifted to Wang Hu.

He was tied up on the ground by colorful light bands.

Su Zijun opened her mouth in surprise. “Huang Baifu? You’re here too? Oh right, you were transferred… but you don’t look too good.”

Wang Hu—Huang Baifu—was indeed in a strange state.

Lying on the ground, he had been silent for a long time. There was no demonic energy detectable from his body, but the tiger king stripes on him had somehow turned gold, and his vertical pupils had mutated into silver.

Huang Baifu slowly stood up, seemingly floating. Still no demonic energy could be sensed from him.

But the light bands wrapped around him were suddenly torn apart… and in the next instant, a massive wave of demonic energy exploded from him like a tidal wave.

The energy took physical form, shooting up like a giant beam into the sky.

Within that beam, Huang Baifu’s pupils had turned fully silver!

“White Tiger Divine Beast Transformation…”

Qin Chuyu’s expression turned serious. “At this level, that’s already an advanced Divine Beast Transformation. I didn’t expect a White Tiger descendant in this era could achieve this. Looks like I underestimated him.”

White demonic energy surged around Huang Baifu like lightning. He began walking toward Gaia—his target.

Su Zijun pulled Jessica back a few steps.

“Master? You know this… this guy?”

Su Zijun calmly said, “His name is Huang Baifu, heir to the White Tiger clan of the Four Celestial Spirits from Divine Land. Though called an heir, he already leads the entire clan. He’s the illegitimate child of the previous patriarch, but his White Tiger bloodline is incredibly strong. However, his Divine Beast Transformation is unstable and causes him to lose rationality.”

“Sounds intense…” Jessica murmured, increasingly exposed to the supernatural but still unable to make sense of this strange world.

Su Zijun didn’t respond. She just pulled Jessica further back. “The situation’s unclear. We don’t know who these people are. Let’s just watch. Huang Baifu has lost control twice before—once nearly crippled his own father, and once beat the Azure Dragon clan so badly their former leader had to step down. He’s still hanging on the pillar of shame.”

She shrugged, “The old lady isn’t here. Unless he stops on his own, no one’s going to intervene. I’m not about to play hero.”

That really is her style… Jessica sighed but obediently stayed behind Su Zijun. In a battle like this, she wasn’t even a cannon fodder.

Light particles began to rise from the undead in the tomb.

They spread out, illuminating the chamber.

Luo Qiu stretched out his hand, and a tiny light settled in his palm, melting away like snow.

He smiled gently.

Suddenly, footsteps echoed behind him.

Hands folded in front, head slightly bowed, walking gracefully was Miss Maid from the Club, You Ye. Behind her followed the ever-curious Da Zhe.

“Master.”

“Boss!”

Luo Qiu smiled slightly and looked at Da Zhe. “You seem well.”

Da Zhe chuckled. “As long as you don’t throw me back into that hellhole, I’ll stay healthy forever!”

Luo Qiu gave a soft laugh.

“You seem to be in a good mood,” You Ye said softly. She stepped up to him and took out a handkerchief, carefully wiping dust from his palm—likely from contact with the Terracotta Warriors.

“I’ve heard quite a few interesting stories.”

Luo Qiu looked up at the glowing specks in the tomb and murmured, “Even at the end, the last bit of light—though faint—can still shine with strength.”

The undead finally turned to dust, collapsing one by one… purified.

You Ye whispered, “Master, you’ve spent too much time.”

“It’s fine. It wasn’t a drain.” Luo Qiu’s voice was soft. “I just wanted you to see this moment. Isn’t it beautiful?”

As the glowing lights rose, the scene resembled a firefly-filled summer riverbank—so stunning that it stilled the air, leaving the place in hushed wonder.

Da Zhe sighed… thinking maybe he should just go off and fight some monsters in a corner. This level of sweetness could kill someone.

When the final glow faded from Luo Qiu’s palm, he said softly, “Let’s go.”
