Chapter 1054: How Could There Be a Path to Immortality in This World? (62) — Green Lotus Sword Song

“Master, this mountain is really strange. We've been flying for so long, but we’re not getting any closer.”

Above the clouds, two figures were flying swiftly toward a mountain peak breaking through the mist.

Their high-speed flight had torn a long rift through the clouds.

Suddenly, the two figures came to a halt.

A closer look revealed that only one of them was actually flying—the other was being carried by the collar the whole time.

They were Su Zijun and Jessica.

After arriving at the scene of the Jade Dragon Pillar almost simultaneously with both the Daoist and Demon sides, they were transferred to this place by the power it released. They had been flying for quite some time.

The towering mountain became Su Zijun’s immediate target. She guessed that not only she, but probably everyone present at the time, had been transported to this place.

Rather than wasting time searching for others, heading toward such an obvious landmark might lead to encounters.

What Su Zijun didn’t expect was that they couldn’t fly over the mountain.“Tch. Are we forced to walk? What a time-wasting design,” Su Zijun muttered irritably—she preferred simple, direct, and overwhelming approaches.

“Master, there seems to be something over there,”

Suddenly, Jessica pointed ahead to the left. Su Zijun followed her gaze, frowned, and then flew over, still carrying Jessica.

The airflow scattered the clouds, revealing a faint cyan light hidden within.

They quickly approached the source of the glow.

“What is this…” Jessica stared in shock at the source. “A sword?”

Indeed, it was a sword.

The sword looked ancient, nothing like modern craftsmanship.

It stood vertically in the sky, hidden among the clouds—seemingly having existed there for a long time.

Su Zijun reached out for the hilt, but the moment her palm touched it, the sword suddenly quivered, and she instantly withdrew her hand like lightning.

Jessica widened her eyes. In just that instant, her powerful master’s hand was already covered in blood, dozens of cuts slashed across her palm.

Su Zijun looked down at her injured hand, stunned. “Such sharp sword intent… Interesting.”

She let out a cold laugh as her bloody hand rapidly healed.

Then, Su Zijun reached out again. This time, her palm was coated in a layer of dark red demonic energy.

When she grasped the hilt once more, the ancient sword trembled again—but this time, Su Zijun didn’t let go. “Just an old sword. Can it compare to the Xuanyuan Sword? Behave yourself!”

But rather than calming down, the sword grew more violent!

A burst of green light flashed from the blade, and countless sword auras shot outward indiscriminately.

Su Zijun was startled. She momentarily lost her grip and was once again flung away by the sword.

“Master!”

Jessica cried out. When Su Zijun turned around, she saw deep, bone-revealing wounds carved into Jessica’s body by the unleashed sword energy.

“Tch!”

Su Zijun clicked her tongue, quickly pulling Jessica back. A deep red barrier enveloped them both.

The sword aura storm eventually died down.

The ancient sword quieted, though the surrounding sword aura didn’t disperse. Instead, it formed a lotus shape, encasing the sword at the center.

Simple demonic energy seemed useless against this sword…

Su Zijun frowned. She could sense that the sword aura didn’t hold killing intent but rather a kind of pride.

“A proud spirit in a sword… Your master must not have been ordinary.”

Su Zijun exhaled slowly, growing fonder of the sword. “But your master abandoned you here. What are you still waiting for? Whoever your master was, I doubt they’re much stronger than me.”

She took a deep breath and reached out once more.

But this time, it wasn’t demonic energy on her hand. It was a strange power that terrified Jessica—yet Su Zijun seemed to struggle to wield it.

Jessica saw the tension on Su Zijun’s face, her slightly contracting pupils… classic signs of pain.

Yet her palm passed through the lotus-shaped sword aura unhindered and gripped the hilt again.

“I am the rightful successor of the Divine Land Xuanyuan Sword—the incarnation of the Xuanyuan Sword! The supreme of all swords! Submit to me!”

The sword trembled again, humming loudly—not mournfully, but like a battle cry!

It did not submit.

Surprise flashed in Su Zijun’s eyes—but also fueled her competitive spirit.

She fought through the rejection of the Jiangshi body by the Yellow Emperor’s power, holding the sword hilt tightly.

“Jessica, stay behind me!” Su Zijun shouted.

Jessica jolted, quickly clinging to Su Zijun’s body and moving behind her.

Then, like a storm, thousands of sword auras burst forth, sweeping across the sky and completely dispersing the clouds above.

A sword storm.

Su Zijun endured it with great effort—mostly the backlash from the clashing powers within her body!

The sword’s humming grew louder… Then, with a clear “clang,” it broke free from Su Zijun’s grasp and shot toward the ground.

“Master? Where is it going?”

Jessica noticed the slight trembling in Su Zijun’s arm. Su Zijun, however, kept her head down, frowning in silence.

“I felt a sense of urgency… and joy.”

Su Zijun murmured, “Maybe its master is calling it. I want to see—what kind of being owns such a proud sword?”

With that, she flipped midair, grabbed Jessica by the collar, and dove toward the earth.

...

...

The landscape was devastated—half the massive stone forest seemed destroyed. Who knew if the original maze-like formation still functioned?

But that wasn’t the point… thought Wang Hu.

His massive, angular gauntlets were now covered in cracks, like etched patterns, giving them a broken beauty—though in truth, they were simply wrecked.

What left Wang Hu questioning life was that, aside from a certain third-tier power he didn’t want to use, he had already gone all out… and still ended up on the ground. Easily defeated.

Not only had the White Tiger Clan’s treasured heirloom, the White Tiger Beast King Armor, been destroyed, but every bone in his body ached, and every muscle screamed in protest.

Wang Hu felt like a beat-up car forced into a rally race, only to break down midway in a cloud of thick black smoke.

Lying on the ground, above him hovered that impossibly strong, seemingly-cheating small figure, along with the endless barrage of thunder orbs behind her.

Not far from him was the woman in white who had just fought him evenly. She was still managing to stay on her feet, unlike him—flat on the ground, barely able to move, but at least she was still dodging and holding her ground.

At this point, it was clear she was just a bit stronger than him.

In this short period, Wang Hu had been struck by multiple blows. It made him start to doubt something: after defeating the strongest of the other three Celestial Spirit tribes, was his reputation as the most gifted genius of the Four Celestial Spirits in a thousand years… maybe a bit overrated?

Or was it that the current generation of the Four Celestial Spirits was simply too weak? After all, legends said that the Demon Clan’s top powerhouses in their prime—those who could undergo Divine Beast Transformation—could literally move mountains and seas.

Cough, cough.

Wang Hu coughed twice and spat out a mouthful of bloody phlegm.

Driven by pride—or maybe sheer stubbornness—he forced himself up, even as the bones in his legs felt like they were shattering. He struggled to rise halfway to his feet.

The excessive strain instantly shattered the barely-holding-together pieces of the White Tiger King Armor on his arms.

Wang Hu stared furiously at the smug old ghost standing leisurely at the edge of the battlefield. He hated that face. He wanted to punch it. Then rub it in the mud for good measure.

“San-niang, just be a good girl and admit you were wrong, okay? For old times’ sake, if you kneel and apologize to your senior brother and give me a shoulder rub, maybe I’ll consider letting you off~”

That insufferably smug tone drifted across the battlefield like poison.

If there was ever a perfect example of a petty villain feeling triumphant, this was it. Though… was a shoulder rub and leg massage really the extent of this old ghost’s ambition?

Wang Hu frowned. But that terrifying little girl who obeyed his every word… now that was a problem.

“Tai Yinzi, you really never change,” the woman in white said coldly. With a flick of her fingers, a green sword light slashed through a thunder orb. But she knew the truth: this Gaia seemed to have endless energy.

The power of those thunder orbs—enough to destroy the White Tiger King Armor—was proof enough.

Yet her own magic power was draining fast. Losing was only a matter of time—and her opponent hadn’t even gone all out yet.

It seemed Tai Yinzi had ordered Gaia to "capture" rather than "eliminate."

“Little junior sister, after all these years, you’re still like this, huh?” Tai Yinzi shook his head, then suddenly shouted angrily, “Who are you to lecture me? I’m your senior brother!! Gaia! Teach this brat a good lesson!”

“Tai Yinzi, did you forget? I’m still a paying customer of your boss… you dare lay a hand on me?” The woman in white suddenly sneered.

That made Tai Yinzi hesitate immediately…

She had paid for two years of stay at the club, even temporarily worked as a maid, and had personally served the Boss. Considering how their Boss was known for having a soft spot for the past…

Tai Yinzi's expression darkened. But Gaia, having received the order, acted instantly—no hesitation.

The thunder orbs suddenly elongated—turning from spheres into spears.

Now, dozens of lightning spears floated behind Gaia.

Spears were piercing weapons. One hit would not be pleasant.

“Don’t kill her! Just rough her up a little…” Tai Yinzi quickly added, “…Damn it, two years of lying in bed should count as completing the deal, right?”

The lightning spears shot out like a rare golden meteor shower!

Each spear easily shattered the sword lights the woman in white fired. After barely holding on for ten seconds, one spear pierced straight through her left shoulder.

Then another struck her arm, another her leg.

The thunder pouring into her body exploded within her. The ever-composed woman finally showed pain on her face. After the barrage ended, she was covered in wounds.

Yet more lightning spears began forming behind Gaia, as if endless—filling the woman in white with dread.

She clutched her chest, coughed up bloody phlegm, and collapsed to one knee.

Tai Yinzi hesitated slightly as he looked at her. His lips parted as if to speak but he grit his teeth and turned to Gaia. “Capture her.”

【Understood】

A colorful ribbon of light—like the one that had easily bound Wang Hu earlier—shot out from Gaia, heading toward both the woman in white and Wang Hu.

Wang Hu struggled briefly, then gave up, eyes locked onto Tai Yinzi with a cold gaze… The tiger king’s markings on his body began to shift in color, and his pupils gradually turned to vertical slits…

Elsewhere, the wounded woman in white was also bound tightly by the colorful light. She gritted her teeth and shot a cold glance at Tai Yinzi.

“Junior—” Tai Yinzi snorted, but didn’t dare meet her gaze. He looked away.

“Wench, I advise you to admit you were wrong!”

Just then—a beam of green light suddenly shot down from the sky!

It cut through the connection between the colorful ribbon and Gaia!

An ancient sword floated vertically above the ground, gently humming.

Both the woman in white and Tai Yinzi instantly locked their gazes on the sword.

“Isn’t that…” Tai Yinzi’s face filled with fear. He took a few steps forward, eyes wide, voice trembling, “Isn’t that Master’s… Gr-Green…”

But from the woman’s lips came a calm whisper, naming the sword:

“Green Lotus Sword Song…”
