Chapter 719: Very Cute, Just Like You

Chapter 719: Very Cute, Just Like You

After returning to the Leclair residence, the old man went to get Nicholas and Benjamin’s snack box. Seeing the two little ones, his old face broke into a wide smile.

As soon as Benjamin saw that great-grandpa had so much food that Daddy had cut off, his eyes instantly lit up. He pulled Nicholas along and surrounded the old man, sweetly calling him great-grandpa left and right, making the old man smile so widely his mouth couldn’t close.

Delphine stood in front of the side hall corridor, quietly watching, and couldn’t help but smile slightly until an unavoidable gaze was cast upon her. She turned around only to see Nathan Leclair standing under the tall osmanthus tree in the courtyard.

The man was very tall, with healthy tanned skin. This time, he wasn’t wearing ripped clothes; he was in formal attire, tidying himself up, looking handsome and sunny. Seeing her, he squinted and smiled with a deep voice, saying, "Hi, Delphine."

Delphine smiled politely but said nothing.

Nathan Leclair walked over, following her gaze to the two little ones, and said with a smile, "Very cute, like you."

The man stood under the corridor beside her, his height bringing a sense of pressure. Delphine wasn’t quite used to being so close to strangers and subtly wanted to move into the side hall.

Nathan Leclair lowered his head, seeing her slender frame and waist not even a full grip wide. He could crush her bones with a single hand. She was truly a rare delicacy. The man seemingly saw again the teenage Delphine Carter in a school uniform, with her head lowered all day to minimize her presence. She thought she hid well, but in truth, like a pure little rabbit in a wolf’s den, no matter how well she hid, the wolf would catch her scent and have her in its mouth.

"Has Big Brother been staying at your place recently?" Nathan Leclair casually asked, calling out to her.

Delphine nodded and said lightly, "If you need something from him, just call directly."

Having not seen each other for many years, being unfamiliar was unavoidable. Her naïve feelings from back then were confused even to herself. Nathan Leclair smiled, the tall man giving off a sunny smile, and said, "Oh, by the way, little Isaac is coming back tomorrow. If you have time, you can come see him. The child has been somewhat aloof these past few years."

Feeling guilty at those words, Delphine remembered that, recently, with Ignatius Leclair’s car accident, Leah’s disappearance, and all her thoughts tied up with Nicholas and Benjamin, she had completely forgotten about Isaac. Remembering her earlier promise to him, she feared Isaac would become even more distant.

"Isaac is in middle school now, right?" Delphine asked.

"He’s in eighth grade, just transferred back to Nanyang. He chose a boarding school himself, comes home once a week." Nathan Leclair smiled, "Actually, you don’t need to worry. When I’m in Nanyang, I’ll take care of the kid. He is my brother, after all."

Seeing this, Delphine felt grateful and her impression of Nathan Leclair improved a bit. She smiled slightly at him.

When Ignatius Leclair heard that the old man had brought his woman and children back to the Leclair residence, he hurried over immediately. On entering, he saw the young man and woman talking in the corridor—the man was handsome and sunny, the woman beautiful and delicate. It was annoying no matter how he looked at it.

Without giving himself away, the man came over, phoenix eyes narrowing. Although his face was calm, inside he was furious with jealousy. This woman was freely smiling at another man again, as if she thought all the men outside were Benjamin’s well-trained dogs—no, they were all wolves! Wolves in human disguise!

Ignatius Leclair reached the corridor, extending his hand to draw Delphine into his embrace, meeting Nathan Leclair’s eyes and smiling with aloof elegance, "Ah, Nathan, you’ve stayed quite a while in Nanyang this time."
