Chapter 678: Are You Just Going to Watch Indifferently?
Ignatius Leclair leisurely sipped his wine, looking down at Melody Cloud with an air of superiority, and said coldly, "Melody, I’ve always thought you weren’t lacking in intelligence. A second personality? Do you really believe in such absurd nonsense? You’ve disappointed me greatly."
Melody Cloud was so distressed that she was on the verge of tears. Flustered, she lost her composure and blurted out, "I’m sorry, your changes have been too drastic, and that’s why I believed it. I won’t trust him about anything anymore. Brother Leclair, don’t be disappointed in me."
Him? Ignatius Leclair’s gaze grew dark as he asked coolly, "Who is he?"
Melody bit her lip hard, abruptly stood up, and slowly unzipped her white long gown. She flung her arms around Ignatius, her breath uneven as she said, "Brother Leclair, whatever you want to know, I’ll tell you."
Ignatius turned his eyes away in shock, his handsome face growing colder. Catching the scent of the perfume clinging to her, he felt restless and irritated.
The man’s self-control was almost pathological. Narrowing his eyes, Ignatius said icily, "What perfume are you wearing?"
"Poison, but it’s mixed with an aphrodisiac. Brother Leclair, don’t you want it?" Melody clumsily tugged at the man’s clothes, her hands reaching to unbutton his shirt as the drug took effect. "This drug is potent; even on the black market, it’s difficult to find."
Ignatius reached out to push her away. His hand brushed against her face, and with evident disgust, he turned his head harshly and threw her forcefully onto the sofa. Melody fell onto the carpet, then scrambled back up, throwing herself against Ignatius. Her voice had altered as she cried out, "Don’t you want this, Brother Leclair?"
The woman’s voice, the room filled with the aphrodisiac’s scent, and the man’s restrained tone—Delphine Carter felt stuck in an awkward position. Her original plan was simple: record a video to blackmail Ignatius, slap him, and force him to divorce. But she hadn’t anticipated just how thick-skinned she’d have to be. Faced with the intensity of the situation, she was uneasy, disgusted, and desperate to leave.
Delphine hesitated, debating whether to storm out and slap each of them when her phone suddenly rang. The caller was Leah.
The suite suddenly fell into an eerie silence. Delphine’s face shifted slightly as she hastily hung up the call. She raised her eyes just in time to see Ignatius storming into the bedroom with a gloomy expression. He grabbed her wrist firmly, his face dark and terrifying. "When did you arrive?"
Delphine inexplicably felt as though she’d been caught in an act of infidelity. Feeling guilty, she said nervously, "I’ve been here for a while. You can come—why can’t I?"
Melody stormed in as well, and upon spotting Delphine, she let out a sharp scream: "Why are you here?"
As she finished, she immediately searched for clothes to cover herself.
Delphine felt confused. Hadn’t she sent the text inviting Melody here?
Ignatius saw Delphine still dressed in her red gown from the banquet. Her snow-white skin, delicate collarbone—everything about her shot his long-restrained desire to the forefront. Under the influence of the drug, his mind was consumed by her.
His breath suddenly became heavy. Staring at her petal-like lips, he growled angrily, "So you’ve been here this whole time, watching that woman throw herself at me? Delphine Carter, do you even have a conscience?"
Stunned by his rebuke, Delphine froze. He was the one cheating, yet he was reprimanding her for having no conscience? Ignatius Leclair must be out of his mind. Actually, no—this man had always been insane. And it wasn’t a mild case either.
