Leah spilled a glass of red wine on Reginald Yeager. At the moment, she was secretly feeling smug about it. When she saw Delphine coming out from the lounge with a slightly unpleasant expression, she casually brushed off a group of men eager to fawn over her, walked up, and said with a grin, "Why the dark face? Who pissed you off?"

Delphine shook her head and replied plainly, "It’s nothing. I’ll head back early later. I’m a bit worried about Nicholas and Benjamin at home."

"There are two servants there; it should be fine. Nicholas and Benjamin are clever kids." Leah said casually. "You’re leaving so early? You haven’t even taken down the fake innocent flower yet."

Delphine sneered. "The fake innocent flower is busy cozying up with someone right now."

"You wouldn’t believe it—just earlier, I dumped a glass of red wine all over Reginald Yeager. The scene was truly spectacular! His face turned green."

"You... If he confronted you right then and there, would you have Griffith Squire go up and knock him out?" Delphine frowned at Leah disapprovingly. The change in Jocelyn Yeager had been profound; now his reputation and stature in the Southern Isles were nothing like they used to be. Delphine didn’t want to have a public falling-out with him, preferring to keep her distance.

"Relax. He’s a man who can endure anything; he wouldn’t dare act impulsively," Leah said nonchalantly, waving her hand dismissively.

While chatting, Delphine noticed Ignatius Leclair and Melody Cloud walking out one after the other.

The tall, handsome man approached her and said lightly, "I won’t be coming over to check on Nicholas and Benjamin tonight. Later, I’ll arrange for Maximilian to take you home."

Leah raised her eyebrows in surprise. The man who usually clung to her like glue—that same man who had been lurking with predatory eyes at tonight’s cocktail party—was now uninterested in going to pick her up?

"No need," Delphine replied coldly.

The man’s gaze darkened, but he said nothing, simply nodding and walking away.

"Is Ignatius Leclair having one of his episodes again?" Leah poked Delphine discreetly after watching him leave. "Or did you two have another fight?"

Delphine shook her head and muttered softly, "I’ll head back first."

Leah set down her red wine, grabbed her handbag, and said, "I’ll come with you. Every time I go to these cocktail parties, I feel completely like a piece of meat being eyed, and it’s creepy."

The two of them left the hotel and waited for their cars to be brought around. Just at that moment, a black modified Hummer pulled up.

Richard Shaw’s personal bodyguard got out and respectfully said, "Miss Squire, the Major General has made time to stop over in the Southern Isles for one hour during his meeting. He wishes to see you."

Earlier this year, Richard Shaw’s leg condition had finally healed, allowing him to return to his position. He’s now considered the youngest and most authoritative leader in the Military District. All his movements are confidential. Apparently, during the meeting, he specifically squeezed in time to visit Leah.

Leah sneered and said nothing. Richard Shaw’s leg illness had lingered for years without improvement, yet somehow, as soon as Griffith Squire came back, it healed. Does he think she’s a fool? Or that she’s beyond naive?

Delphine pinched her arm and muttered under her breath, "Just one hour—stop being melodramatic. Go meet him. You can’t keep dragging this stalemate out forever, right?"

"Can you get home on your own then?" Leah still had a belly full of anger she wanted to unleash on Richard Shaw.

"Go ahead. It’s not like I’m a child." Delphine nudged her toward the Hummer. Seeing the sharp-featured, ruggedly handsome man inside roll down the window and flash her a gentle smile, Delphine smirked and said, "Absence makes the heart grow fonder, right? Don’t blow up at him—try having a civil conversation."

Leah reluctantly climbed into the car.

After Delphine’s car was brought around, she got in and was about to head back to the villa when her phone buzzed with an incoming message from an unknown number. It contained only a location and a suite number: Cloud Summit, 8816.
