Chapter 675: A Woman Who Makes the Blood Boil Just by Thinking About Her

Melody Cloud stared closely at the handsome and stern man before her. Over the years, the aura of restrained self-discipline and nobility surrounding him had only grown thicker. Just one look from him could make a woman’s knees go weak. A man like this could truly make one live and die for desire.

"I’ve finally figured out the reason for your unpredictability these past few years, Brother Ignatius. You used to really like me, didn’t you? Is it your second personality that made you gradually drift away from me?" Melody suddenly rushed into his arms, hugging Ignatius Leclair tightly, and whispered softly, "I don’t mind at all. From childhood to now, I’ve only ever loved you."

The unfamiliar scent of a woman carried a faint trace of familiarity. Ignatius, realizing Melody knew about his second personality, felt his phoenix-shaped eyes darken abruptly. He pondered deeply and momentarily forgot to push her away.

The elderly madam would never tell outsiders about such matters. The only people who knew about his condition were those closest to him, trusted completely. How did Melody Cloud find out?

Delphine Carter stood outside the lounge, watching Melody throw herself into Ignatius’s arms and cling to him tightly. For a moment, surprise flickered across her face, then she scoffed coldly in a mocking display of defiance.

Seeing Ignatius Leclair fail to push Melody away, Delphine thought of the words this man had spoken in the past. A cold smile curled on her lips – a woman who offers herself up willingly and happens to be a childhood companion, what man could bear to reject that? So all that talk about being obsessive-compulsive was nothing more than a ridiculous joke.

Expressionless, Delphine Carter turned and left without looking back.

Inside the lounge, Ignatius’s phoenix-shaped eyes grew even darker. Without a word, he gently pulled Melody Cloud away and said coolly, "Who told you?"

Melody hadn’t expected that in secretly tailing Ignatius here to the lounge, she would end up being caught by Delphine Carter. Resentment surged in her heart, mixed with a trace of satisfaction. She yearned to laugh triumphantly. This was only the beginning. She was determined to reclaim what was hers piece by piece, reclaim the identity of Mrs. Leclair, and force Delphine back into being nothing but an impoverished orphan. Only then could the hatred in her heart be eased.

"I just guessed," Melody replied after snapping out of her thoughts. She gazed, somewhat enthralled, at the chiseled features of the man before her and said gently, "You’ve changed so much over the years that I hardly recognize you. I happened to encounter Louis and asked him about it."

A cold glint flickered in Ignatius’s eyes. Considering Louis’s limited intelligence, it wouldn’t take much to coax out a few words from him. With those small clues, piecing together that Ignatius had a personality disorder wouldn’t be hard. But Louis had left Cloud Summit long ago and lived a wandering life. With Melody’s capabilities, unless she had caught wind of some insider information, she wouldn’t have thought to target Louis.

"I don’t mind at all, Brother Ignatius. I’ll take good care of you," Melody said shyly. "All these years, I’ve worked hard to become the perfect woman, just so I could be worthy of you. My feelings for you have never changed. Tonight, I’ve reserved a suite at Cloud Summit. I’ll be waiting for you there. I want you to be my first man."

A man with dissociative identity disorder? Such a cold, regal man, yet he harbored a second personality. Melody’s excitement grew uncontrollable, to the point that she almost wanted to scream. One version of him already left people defenseless – there were actually two? She could hardly wait to encounter Ignatius’s other personality. If she could conquer this man, what in the world could possibly be out of reach?

Ignatius lowered his gaze, the corners of his lips curling into a cold smile. Melody Cloud was indeed an exceptional woman, a rarity even among the elite socialites of Cloud Summit. But to him, women like her held almost zero allure. He was still drawn to women like Delphine Carter — cold and aloof on the surface but utterly bewitching in bed, making one lose themselves so completely that just recalling it could set one’s blood on fire.
