the two-faced Adopted Girl Who Melted CEO's Ice-Cold Heart

Chapter 495: The First Kiss

Chapter 495: The First Kiss

Maximilian was incredibly efficient, and the psychologist he found was the renowned Dr. Wen, a veteran in the field.

The elderly doctor had long retired, occasionally lecturing at universities as a guest. This time, he came as a favor to his old friend, Dr. Zheng.

By the next afternoon, Maximilian had already brought Dr. Wen to Ignatius Leclair’s residence.

Dr. Wen, with his hair streaked white, exuded an energetic spirit. His eyes sparkled with wisdom as he entered the room, scrutinizing the young man before him, and said with a smile, "Mr. Leclair doesn’t seem to have any psychological issues. Why would you consider hypnosis?"

Ignatius instructed someone to prepare tea and then responded, "I’ve forgotten something rather important, so I’d like to use hypnosis to try and recall it."

Dr. Wen disapprovingly remarked, "Although hypnosis and exploring the deep subconscious have been my field of study, the older I get, the less I advocate for hypnosis. This method of forcibly awakening memories is simplistic and crude, leaving behind potentially immeasurable repercussions."

"It’s fine, Dr. Wen. Please don’t worry about it," Ignatius replied, his expression steely and unwavering.

"Alright, but I’ll only hypnotize you once," Dr. Wen relented after seeing his determination. He said no more, asked everyone else to leave, adjusted the room’s temperature and lighting, and guided Ignatius Leclair to relax his body, proceeding with preparatory steps.

Ignatius felt as though he was traversing a long hallway, pushing open the door at its end. Ahead of him stood the familiar red house.

The gates of the Leclair manor swung open, and leading the group was Bessie Leclair, her face alight with excitement. She was a girl in her early teens, brimming with youthful exuberance, shouting to those behind her, "Hurry up! You’re all so sluggish. I’m talking about you, Delphine—moving as slow as a snail!"

Nathan Leclair emerged next, smacking her lightly on the forehead, his tone nonchalant as he teased her, "Let’s see you fly ahead, then. Ugly and loud."

"Nathan Leclair! Did you just get dumped again? Can’t you stop being so mean?" Bessie stomped her foot in furious protest.

Finally, out came a teenage Delphine, sporting a neat short bob haircut. Her delicate features and fair skin complemented her luminous, grape-like eyes, which shone with pure, untamed energy.

She carried a heavy backpack, dressed in the standard school-issued uniform, trudging sluggishly at the rear like a snail. It was clear she had no interest in this trip to Wellspring Villa.

The group piled into the car, en route to the villa. Having just finished their final exams, the old patriarch noticed they were all worn out and had arranged for Nathan to take them to his privately-owned Wellspring Villa for some relaxation.

Since it was their own villa, Ignatius left his younger siblings to their own devices. But at 10 p.m., the manager informed him that the short-haired girl had gone missing and hadn’t eaten dinner.

Worried, he rushed out to search for her, eventually hearing faint, cat-like sobs—soft and choked—from outside the hot spring cave on the back hill.

He followed the sounds into the crafted hot spring cave. There, he found seventeen-year-old Delphine, clad in a swimwear so short it couldn’t get any shorter, barefoot, curled up on a massive rock in the hot spring cave. Her slender figure was beginning to show signs of development, radiating a raw, youthful charm.

He waded through the water toward her, calling out softly.

She lifted her small face and threw herself into his arms, crying in a fragile voice, "Bessie took my clothes."

Ignatius abruptly woke up, his handsome face pale and utterly bloodless.
