Chapter 109: Stirring Up Trouble Again
Chapter 109: Stirring Up Trouble Again
The Grant Family in Arkenfall sent people over again. After a quiet period, things started stirring again since the time for Leo Grant’s return to Arkenfall was drawing near.
There’s no way they can just sit still over there; they certainly can’t delay in executing their plan to harm Leo Grant any longer.
Leo Grant had gone to work, leaving Holly Sawyer alone at home enjoying a TV drama while munching on snacks, feeling utterly relaxed.
"What a coincidence."
Suddenly, Holly Sawyer put down what she was holding, opened the door wide to reveal a line of men dressed in black, wearing black masks, standing there.
A clueless smile appeared on her face, seemingly foolish.
Seeing the young girl who opened the door, the men in black were visibly taken aback; they looked at each other in bewilderment.
A young girl in Leo Grant’s house?
They had come specifically while Leo Grant was out, to lie in wait for him. All the people Leo had stationed around the villa were drugged unconscious by them.
"Are you guys here to see Leo Grant? He’s not home right now, but you’re welcome to come in and wait."
Holly Sawyer tilted her head, looking at the men in black with innocent eyes, speaking in a sweet tone.
Men in black: "..."
Is this girl actin’ dumb for real? Or is she just pretending?
They weren’t about to gamble on it.
"Don’t you want to come in? I can call my brother and ask him to come back."
Holly tilted her head even more, her tone soft and cutesy, filled with child-like innocence.
She took out her phone from her pocket, intending to call Leo Grant.
"No need to call, Young Master Grant is very busy."
One of the men in black stopped Holly from proceeding with the call, explaining.
This young girl looked so airheaded; surely, she shouldn’t pose any issue, right?
They weren’t genuinely maleficent; their role was to ambush Leo Grant. Thus, encountering Holly, they didn’t plan to hurt her.
"Then come on in."
Holly took a step back to let them enter.
A group of ten cautiously stepped in, wary of any tricks.
They did not recognize Holly Sawyer and couldn’t discern if she was genuinely clueless or was scheming something.
"Feel free to drink water, have some snacks, and eat some fruit."
Inside the living room, Holly flitted around, offering drinks, then snacks, then fruit.
Obviously, the men in black dared not touch any of it, unsure if there might be something in the food, scanning their surroundings warily.
They feared the villa might have been rigged with an ambush.
"Aren’t you guys eating?"
Holly asked, puzzled, before casually picking up a snack bag from in front of them, tearing it open and munching away.
Watching her eat, the men in black didn’t lower their guard. They were baffled internally if this young girl was truly clueless.
Shouldn’t a normal person be scared upon seeing them dressed this way?
Ignoring them, Holly indulged in her TV show, at times bursting into laughter, utterly absorbed.
A faint scent wafted through the living room, so subtle it could easily be overlooked.
The men in black gradually let down their guard, relaxing enough to drink the water and eat the snacks.
Holly’s smile turned slightly mischievous, continuing to indulge in her show.
She originally planned to attend school today, but decided against it, someone else had covered her outing.
"Feeling tired, aren’t you?"
Holly turned down the TV volume a smidge, blinking as she asked, her eyes appearing innocent.
The questioning looks from the men in black soon turned into surprise, as they found their bodies becoming slowly weak and lethargic.
"You spiked the food."
One of the men in black accused through gritted teeth, glaring viciously at Holly.
Seeing Holly so at ease, they had been there for an hour and a half, and the initial vigilance had long since worn off.
Assuming the girl to be a simpleton, they hadn’t expected her to be as cunning as a fox.
"I wasn’t sure you’d actually eat."
Holly nonchalantly picked up an opened bag of chips and started munching, exuding a natural demeanor.
The issue lay not with the food, but with the scent emitting from the incense.
"You’ve been plotting this from the start, haven’t you?"
"Who are you, really?"
"What are you doing in Leo Grant’s house?"
The men, one by one, realized they couldn’t underestimate Holly Sawyer.
Letting them in and acting so naturally were all a part of Holly’s plan, showing how composed she was.
"The scent in the living room renders you all powerless."
Holly sat down, swinging her legs slightly, her smile broad and jovial.
With their strength sapped away, the men were rendered utterly helpless, entrapped by Holly.
"Sit tight and wait for my brother’s return."
With a grin, Holly took out a rope and swiftly tied up all ten, leaving them on the floor, her grin widening.
"Indeed, appearances are the most deceiving."
One of the men in black snorted, glaring at Holly with animosity.
"Indeed." Holly agreed.
"Since you stepped into the villa, everything has been under my orchestration."
Standing over them, Holly explained calmly.
When Leo left this morning, "she" had gone out as well, enabling Sean Grant to seize the opportunity to send people over.
"She" was actually Bella Coleman in disguise, with a figure and appearance quite similar, plus a mask, making it easy to be misidentified.
Many of the people around the villa had been dispersed by her; even those supposedly drugged weren’t truly unconscious, as per her arrangements.
Her plan wasn’t a singular one; had they refused to come inside, she had planned to spring the trap on them in the courtyard. But once they were inside, the incense served its purpose.
Realizing Holly’s intricate plan, all ten men were dumbfounded, acknowledging her meticulousness and yielding to her completely.
This little girl is truly...
"Didn’t Sean Grant tell you that I’m protecting Leo Grant?"
She tilted her head, casually questioning them with a mysterious smile.
She stood by her word, indeed.
Sean Grant?
All ten of the men exchanged puzzled glances, shock visible in each other’s eyes.
How did Holly Sawyer know they were Sean Grant’s people?
Even Leo Grant might not know since they were operating under the guise of other members of the Grant Family, absolutely refusing to betray Sean Grant.
"It’s rather amusing, pretending to be all brotherly while plotting to annihilate."
Holly snorted derisively.
Truth be told, she wasn’t entirely sure these were Sean Grant’s men; it was a probing question. Reading the shock in their eyes, she confirmed her suspicions.
Leo had his suspicions about his cousin Sean but didn’t want to believe it.
