Chapter 110: She Did It to Protect Him
Chapter 110: She Did It to Protect Him
The ten black-clad men kept silent, fearing that speaking would expose too much.
Holly Sawyer was very clever, capable of reading hearts, but her soft and cute appearance was truly deceptive.
Holly sat on the sofa watching them, saying nothing, she thought these people were quite stupid.
The sound of a key turning was heard, and Leo Grant appeared in front of Holly Sawyer, leaving her stunned.
Leo’s gaze coldly swept over the black-clad men, then softly landed on Holly.
"Are you alright?"
Leo walked in, holding Holly’s small hand, his voice filled with concern.
"Brother, why are you back?"
Holly lightly bit her lip, blinking at Leo, not answering his question.
Leo was supposed to be at work, after all.
The ten black-clad men saw that it was Leo who had returned, and they felt a surge of fear, panicking inside.
Leo: "I missed you."
The other side had sent people over, which he had known about early on, and had arranged everything around the villa, not expecting the young girl to surprise him.
He really hadn’t expected that the young girl would...
Use herself as bait, effortlessly tying up these ten men, blaming himself for not being careful enough, letting her do such dangerous things.
Holly: "..."
Missed my foot, we just parted this morning.
The ten black-clad men: "..."
This public display of affection was unexpected.
It turned out the seemingly harmless young girl was actually Leo Grant’s woman.
"Were you hurt? It’s my fault for being careless and not noticing your actions."
Leo looked Holly up and down, fearing she might have even a single hair harmed.
He had arranged for people, knowing the girl was supposed to attend class today. Yet she not only skipped class, but also orchestrated this drama.
"No, they’re very stupid."
Holly shook her head, her gaze falling on the ten black-clad men, blinking.
The ten black-clad men: "..."
They had been wondering if Holly was truly simple-minded, now realizing the fools were themselves.
They thought others were the clowns, not realizing the clowns were actually them.
"Did you think your plan was meticulous?"
Leo ruffled Holly’s hair, then turned his gaze to the black-clad men.
The black-clad men remained silent, each gritting their teeth.
The plan, they believed, was tight and flawless.
"Send them over to Noah Raines, let him handle it."
Leo clapped his hands, and a group of well-suited men instantly surged in, his tone cold as he gave orders.
Noah would handle such matters for him, he only needed to toss the mess to Noah.
Upon receiving the directive, they carried the ten black-clad men out, their movements crisp and efficient.
"This kind of thing is very dangerous, please don’t do it again, okay?"
Leo ruffled Holly’s hair again, speaking softly.
Too dangerous, he was worried the young girl would get hurt.
He had always concealed his strength, letting the Grant Family in Arkenfall believe he was weak, thereby lowering their guard against him.
But now he didn’t want to anymore, because with a young girl by his side, he must protect her well.
In the past, being injured in assassination attempts was actually intentional, just to mislead others, and both Noah Raines and Nathaniel cooperated particularly well with him.
"I didn’t even take action."
Holly gently bit her lip, speaking slowly.
She hadn’t acted, just made a little clever plan.
Not dangerous at all, in Holly’s view, having experienced far more dangerous things, she thought this was nothing.
"In the future, brother will protect you, don’t take risks doing these things, okay? Brother can protect himself well too, no need for Holly to worry, alright?"
Leo looked straight into Holly’s eyes, speaking with particular seriousness.
A girl should be well protected, cherished in one’s hands, how could he let Holly do these dangerous things?
"Do you know why I appear by your side?"
Holly met Leo’s gaze, suddenly asking seriously, her eyes sincere.
Why did she appear by Leo’s side?
Because she knew Leo would face danger, though knowing Leo could deal with it himself, she still came to his side.
For no particular reason, she simply didn’t want to see Leo hurt.
Leo asked: "Why?"
He didn’t know.
He only knew the girl’s appearance suddenly made his always calm heart start to beat, a feeling of excitement.
"Because I knew you would be in danger."
Holly’s smile was particularly bright as she spoke slowly, the laughter evident in her eyes.
The sudden appearance was purposeful, her aim being to protect Leo.
Her temper was stubborn, she would follow through on what she said.
Leo was stunned, looking incredulously at Holly.
"You saved me, so I want to protect you, to the best of my ability, so you won’t get hurt."
Holly’s smile was especially gentle, she tilted her head, her tone unusually serious.
Leo stared blankly at Holly, his lips moved, but no words came out.
He had considered many possibilities, but never this one.
The young girl appeared to protect him, and Leo did not know how to accurately describe his feelings.
"I know you’re very capable, and perhaps don’t need it, but I’m doing what I want to do."
"My original plan was to silently leave, staying was really just an accident. But I will still follow through until the end, even if perhaps you don’t need it."
Holly looked seriously at Leo, speaking slowly, her tone also particularly earnest.
She expressed much she had thought, knowing Leo would protect her, not wanting her in danger, yet she couldn’t help it.
She wanted to protect Leo, so how could she not take risks?
"Alright, brother knows."
Leo’s smile was exceptionally gentle as he softly ruffled Holly’s hair again.
Grateful for having saved the young girl back then, because of that, she voluntarily "came to his side."
"What fragrance is this?"
Leo changed the topic, sniffing the air, the room filled with a faint scent, approaching where Holly placed the incense, he sniffed it.
"This scent can make people weak-limbed, just like them."
Holly held the lid, covering the incense, extinguishing it, as she spoke slowly.
"Why don’t I have any reaction?"
Leo looked at Holly, inquiring.
He had been there for quite a while, without any reaction to the incense.
"It’s slow-acting, the effects are gradual, and you have the antidote."
Holly tilted her head to look at Leo, speaking slowly.
