Chapter 383 - 396: No More Tantrums Allowed
Before Lu Jinghan could speak, the doorbell rang, and Sister Zhang quickly went to open the door: "Mr. Feng is here."Feng Yi nodded slightly, bent down to take a pair of slippers from the shoe cabinet and changed into them before heading to the living room.
Seeing Li Manman with her makeup all smeared from crying, he felt both angry and heartbroken: "Stop crying, come home with me."
Actually, the moment Feng Yi came in, Li Manman was no longer angry. She even felt she might have overreacted, but she was still feeling wronged and wanted to hear him apologize to her.
Feng Yi walked over, sat down beside Li Manman, and wiped the tears off her face: "Next time you ask such a question, I’ll choose to save you first, okay? Don’t be angry."
Clearly, such a question would never arise, but this girl still cried like this and even left home in a fit.
Li Manman looked at Feng Yi with tear-filled eyes, her trembling voice tinged with a strong nasal tone: "Actually, I was angry that you didn’t even hesitate to choose not to save me. Am I really so unimportant that you didn’t even pause to think for a few seconds?"
Li Manman’s mascara was smudged from crying, leaving dark circles under her eyes, which were red and swollen.
Feng Yi gently patted her back with heartache: "Okay, I know I was wrong. It’s not because I don’t care about you; I just thought something like this would never happen, so I replied thoughtlessly and didn’t even think it through."
Han Xi quickly chimed in to support Feng Yi: "Alright, Feng Yi already apologized to you. Don’t be too hard on him. It’s really not worth getting upset over something like this. Go back home with Feng Yi and stop making a fuss."
Li Manman bent over to take a few tissues from the coffee table and wiped her tears away: "I’ll go home with you."
Feng Yi held the girl’s hand and helped her up from the sofa, turning to look at Han Xi: "Little Sister-in-law, we’ll get going then."
"Alright, take good care of her at home, and drive safely." Han Xi smiled and reminded them.
Li Manman, with her eyes still red, looked at Han Xi, sniffed, and said, "I’m leaving."
"No more tantrums, go back quickly."
After seeing Li Manman and Feng Yi off, Han Xi was about to go to the kitchen to make a glass of juice. She had just taken an orange out of the fridge when Lu Jinghan hugged her from behind.
"Let’s go back to the bedroom."
"Umm... I wanted to make some juice first, you go to the bedroom ahead, okay?"
Lu Jinghan raised his hand to pinch the bridge of his nose: "Alright, I’ll take a shower first, you hurry up."
Han Xi nodded and, after Lu Jinghan went upstairs, she took the orange juice to the kitchen.
...............
The next morning, when Han Xi opened her eyes, Lu Jinghan was no longer in the bedroom.
She propped herself up with both hands to sit up, turned her head to look at the dewy roses on the nightstand, and a sweet smile appeared on her lips.
Next to the roses was a small note, which Han Xi reached out to pick up. On it was Lu Jinghan’s strong and bold handwriting.
[Honey, there’s an urgent meeting at the company this morning, so I can’t take you to work. Remember to have breakfast.]
Han Xi put down the note, lifted the blanket, got out of bed, found a vase for the roses on the nightstand, and then went to the bathroom to freshen up.
After changing clothes and having breakfast downstairs, Han Xi drove herself to work.
After parking the car in the hospital’s underground garage, Han Xi suddenly thought of how fiercely Li Manman had cried last night. Worried she might still be upset with Feng Yi, she sent her a text message.
