Chapter 384 - 397: Truly a Problem with Moral Views
Han Xi put her phone in her bag after sending a text message, got off the car, and walked towards the elevator.Back at the office, Han Xi had just changed her clothes when someone pushed the office door open: "Excuse me, are you Miss Han Xi?"
Han Xi nodded: "I am. Is there something you need?"
"These flowers are from a gentleman for you. Please sign for them."
The flower delivery person handed a receipt and a pen to Han Xi, pointing to the lower right corner: "Sign your name here."
Han Xi hesitantly took the pen and signed her name, feeling that it might be Liao Tingxiao who sent the flowers.
Closing the office door, Han Xi found a heart-shaped card among the large bouquet of roses.
[Xiao Xi, I’ve fallen for you. From now on, I’ve decided to pursue you.]
Frowning after reading the card’s message, Han Xi tossed the flowers straight into the trash can.
How can people be like this nowadays, knowing the other person is married but still shamelessly professing love—truly a problematic mindset.
After finishing her rounds and returning to the office, Han Xi received a call from Li Manman, saying she had reconciled with Feng Yi, so Han Xi shouldn’t worry.
Han Xi sat down at her desk, opened her computer to watch some surgery videos friends had sent, when the office door opened; Song Mengmeng and Shen Qiong walked in together.
"Auntie, what brings you here?"
Han Xi stood up from her chair and picked up Song Mengmeng, who had already run up to her.
Shen Qiong put Mengmeng’s cute little pink hat on the sofa and spoke kindly, "The little one insisted on coming to the hospital to find Song Yan, so we had no choice but to bring her along."
"Sister, I’m going back to the United States with Mom tomorrow. Can we have dinner together tonight?"
The adorable little one clung to Han Xi’s neck, her tiny mouth opening and closing cutely.
"Sure, tonight our family will have dinner together."
Han Xi placed Song Mengmeng on the sofa, helping her take off her down jacket: "Auntie, why the rush to leave? I’ve been busy with work and haven’t had the chance to take you around."
"I’m uneasy with your father alone in the United States. We’ve discussed it and will come back during the New Year."
"Alright then."
Just as Han Xi finished speaking, Song Yan pushed the door open. He had been on night duty last night and saw Shen Qiong’s text after finishing his shift, saying she and Mengmeng were with Xiao Xi, so he came over.
"Brother, why haven’t you gone home to sleep yet?"
Song Yan sat wearily on the sofa; several patients had come in with injuries from fights last night, requiring hours of surgery with barely any sleep.
"I’ll go home soon."
Song Yan picked up Song Mengmeng from the sofa. "Do you want to go home with Brother? Sister needs to work, and you’ll disturb her here."
"Alright, but remember to join us for dinner tonight, Sister."
Song Mengmeng blinked her black eyes, her eyelashes as beautiful as feather fans.
"Sister won’t forget, don’t worry."
"Then Xiao Xi, we’ll head back first."
Shen Qiong stood up from the sofa, dressed Song Mengmeng, and left with Song Yan.
At noon, while Han Xi was having lunch in the cafeteria, she suddenly received a call from Chu Ci, saying his stomach hurt badly and he was already at the hospital.
Worried, Han Xi rushed back even though she hadn’t finished eating, and saw Chu Ci clutching his stomach, sitting on a bench in the corridor as soon as she exited the elevator.
