Chapter 988: Fighting Rabid Vampires

Now, there are three rabid vampires biting other vampires.

After they got away from Carrie and the other two Vampire Dukes from our side, the three rabid vampires started attacking other vampires and drunk their blood.

"What the hell?! What is wrong with you three?!" the Vampire King shouted.

"Not only were they part of the cult whom we were talking about for being evil. They also drank the blood of other vampires. Carrie, that was stupid of you. Especially since you experienced it yourself when your king drank the blood of his own kin," Arin scolded Carrie.

"I’m sorry. I didn’t expect that they would bite," Carrie replied.

"Don’t worry about it. Let’s take a step back and let the Vampire King and his subordinates take care of the traitors. Don’t forget that we’re just guests," Arin said.

Seems like after pulling out those explosive devices, Arin told them to not do anything else and just watch.

They might be ready for a fight already. In fact, they have already prepared to fight from the beginning. Back when they were going for this mission.

But they won’t fight. Not in someone’s territory and not without the Vampire King’s permission.

"You’re not going to help?" the Vampire King asked.

"I don’t think it’s wise for me to fight in your territory no matter what the reason is. Though we will help if you give us the permission to do it," Arin said.

"Then don’t help. It’s just three of them and they’re not even our strongest vampires," the Vampire King said.

All this time, I haven’t heard what his name is. I guess Victoria never told me since she knew that I will forget anyway. Or that they have never asked for each other’s name.

"Though I have to give you some advice. Those three vampires have just drunk the blood from Vampire Dukes. Vampires who are much higher level than they were. So their evolution will be faster and they will lose their mind completely," Arin said.

She knew what will happen after a vampire drink other vampire’s blood? Maybe so. After all, who knows how many vampires have fought over her before I met her. Whether they were charmed by here or not, some vampires must have fought.

It seems like for lower-ranked vampire to drink the blood of someone who is of higher-rank, their evolution will be faster and they will lose their mind completely. This will make them stronger and uncontrollable.

I tried to remember what happened when I fought the Vampire King after he drank the blood of his own kin. Even though he went a bit crazy, he could still control himself a bit in a fight. Not completely lost his mind like the three vampires here.

And from the look of it, other than the Vampire King himself, there’s no other vampire strong enough to hold even one of the three rabid vampires down.

The thing was that they tried to hold them down. They didn’t try to kill them.

"You should kill them. It would be impossible for them to recover their mind already. They have gone too far," Arin said calmly.

"No! I won’t kill my own kin so easily!" the Vampire King said.

He’s a good leader. He’s better-suited to be a leader than Arin. Well, it’s more like Arin was much more selfish.

If the Vampire King doesn’t have that much deep resentment toward humans, then I would like to recruit him. Arin and the others mostly live in Cassau or some other cities on Earth. But they can stay in the Monsters Village if they want to.

Well, that’s only if we can get rid of his hatred toward human. If not, it’s better to kill them all instead of waiting until they grow stronger in the future.

Of course I have told Arin if they won’t join us to just kill them. Though I will still leave everything here to Arin.

Except that if she refuses to kill them while they had no desire at all to join us, I will come and kill them all myself.

Though if persuasion is possible, I won’t kill them.

The other vampires fought those three. But they were easily overpowered. And the Vampire King had no choice but to go there and stop them by himself.

’Roy, if you didn’t notice, Arin told me to tell you that Carrie and the other two Vampire Dukes were purposely let themselves be bitten and get their blood drunk so this will happen,’ Victoria said via telepathy.

Seriously? I didn’t notice that at all.

Yes, they were holding the three vampire traitors’ head when they were restraining them after they pluck out the explosive devices in those three’s mouth. But I would never think that it was on purpose.

Well, if they could trick me, they could trick the Vampire King.

The Vampire King stopped two of the rabid vampires on his own and shouted to them to regain back their own selves. While the last one had to be stopped by several strong vampires.

"Just how strong were your subordinates to make those three this strong?!" the Vampire King asked.

"I apologize. I would never think that they would bite us after what you were talking with the Queen," Carrie apologized.

Then, something finally happened which makes the Vampire King finally snapped. The vampire that he didn’t hold killed a Vampire Duke and drunk his blood dry. Turning him even stronger.

"You killed my son! I will rip you into pieces!" the Vampire King shouted.

The Vampire Duke was his son? He seemed weak. Or maybe I was just surrounded by strong monsters for too long that I can’t tell if other monsters were normal or not. The monsters in my side were just crazy strong.

The Vampire King then killed the two vampires he stopped on his own. Those two vampires were still weak so it was not a problem.

As for the strong vampire who just killed his son, the other vampires started to get afraid of him and moved back. They knew that their king will do something about him.

And so, it turned into a one-on-one battle between the Vampire King and a rabid vampire.

Surprisingly, they were equal. Must be because the rabid vampire just drunk a lot of blood.

The other vampires couldn’t do anything to help. While our vampires just stood there and watch. Though they must be feeling a little scared to see what will happen if a vampire drinks the blood of another vampire.

I can see our vampires started whispering to each other. And when Arin heard it, she just smiled.

’Roy. They said that after hearing that you defeated a Vampire King who drank the blood of other vampires, it didn’t mean anything to them at first. Now that they have seen how strong an ordinary vampire becomes after drinking the blood of other vampires, they realized how strong and scary you are to be able to defeat a Vampire King,’ Victoria said.

Don’t tell me that when they first came to Earth, they actually thought that they can best me if they drink the blood of other vampires? That’s the only thing I can think of when I heard their reason for being afraid of me now.

The fight between two the vampires might be equal now. But it won’t be for long. Because the rabid vampire can just drink someone’s blood to recover and grow stronger. While for the Vampire King, there’s no one else there for him to bite.

And so, while the rabid vampire grows stronger, the Vampire King became weaker. Soon, that rabid vampire could be the strongest one there.

"Vampire King. Is it fine for me to help you now?" Arin asked.

"...Please!"

The Vampire King has given up on fighting on his own and decided to ask for Arin’s help.

One hit. That’s all it take for Arin to kill the rabid vampire.

While the Vampire King has to fight for his life, Arin finished the fight with just one hit to everyone’s surprise.

That shows them all the difference in strength between the Vampire King and the Vampire Queen.

"Done... is what I like to say. We still don’t know how many more people on your side who have actually joined that Evil Cult," Arin said.

"...You think there are more?" the Vampire King asked.

"I don’t know. So I will have to bring the centaurs here to see if any of you have joined hands with the cult. If you don’t mind that is," Arin said.

"You have the help of centaurs?" the Vampire King asked.

"The human we’re helping is fighting against the cult. And he gathered other monsters who will help him fight. There are werewolves, angels, elves, and even dragons. We’re suspicious of you because we think that you have joined the cult and come here to spy on us. Even if you didn’t think of spying on us, at least those three did. Now, what will you do?" Arin asked.

The Vampire King was silent. He realized that he knew nothing about the world. Not just the world, he also didn’t know anything about his own subordinates.

"It seems like you’re going to be busy tonight. We will meet again tomorrow right here. Then we can learn more about the truth. I will bring centaurs here tomorrow whatever your decision will be. Also, if there’s any one of you missing tomorrow, I will assume that they belong to the cult right away. I’ll see you tomorrow then," Arin said.

She then took the other vampires and left. And now I had to be careful to not be caught by the vampires when I leave. Well, I can just open up a portal.

But first, let’s bring all the prisoners to the nearest village here. I have put all of them to sleep so no one will recognize me.
