Chapter 978: Another Enemy Reinforcement
Chapter 978: Another Enemy Reinforcement
Everyone has been informed of where the master level mages were hiding. And with our master level mages as well, they won’t be any problem at all to us.
We brought so many people here not to face the orcs. But to act as if were at war with the orcs.
Our original intention is obvious. To get rid of the spies and anyone who is suspicious to be part of the cult. And we have five of them. Seven if we include the two idiots.
With our force, I don’t think we need to worry about anything. And I don’t think I will have to make a move at all. I just waited with the members of the support group here. Most of them are healers. And my job is to protect them.
Our side has surrounded the orc’s nest. And the master level mages in hiding have prepared to move out. Seems like once we get closer, those mages will come out and ambush us.
Well, we’re prepared to greet them. So we will be fine.
I also keep observing on the two idiots who were in a group with some rather strong mages. They seem to be thinking of something.
And finally, when it’s time to move, everyone charged into the nest and attacked all the orcs.
The five hiding master level mages still not coming out yet. They’re waiting for the right moment when we get closer.
As for the two idiots, well, they were being idiots. They tried to escape when they thought that no one was watching them. The wind mage is carrying the other guy and left that place thinking that it’s safe for them to do that. Though I noticed that some of us already noticed them escaping. They just ignored those two.
Wait, they didn’t escape. They’re flying this way. Seems like while the master level mages will kill everyone, those two were tasked to kill me. Whether I am the Aura user they kept looking for or not, they didn’t care about it anymore.
They must be thinking that if I’m the real Aura user, then it will be good since I’m the biggest obstacle for the cult’s goal. If I’m not, that’s fine. Because I’m just a drunkard and no one will miss Robby.
’The master level mages were about to ambush those who entered the nest. And the two idiots are coming my way. Probably to kill me and everyone here. I will kill those two in an instant. As for the master level mages, I hope the others can take care of them,’ I said to Graham and Crabbe via telepathy.
I also told the others here that the two idiots were coming. And soon after that, I noticed something.
"There’s someone else coming! Master level wind mage who is currently flying to this location as fast as possible! Wind mages, try to make sure that there’s no wind breaking through your barriers!" I shouted.
I also told Graham and Crabbe about it. Seems like there’s an extra master level mage in hiding. Well, I don’t think he will be a problem to me. But he could destroy our plan if they found out that I’m the Aura user. Though I still don’t know what our real plan anyway. Why the kings seem like they want to reveal my existence as Robby the Aura user, but at the same time, they don’t? It’s confusing to me.
I’ll just do what needed to be done. As long as it’s related to the cult, I’m sure that the kings did it to destroy them. So I will agree with their plan.
In the place where I’m on standby, even though most of us are healers, there are still some expert level wind mages who used wind magic to cover the area we’re at to make sure that there’s no voice leaked outside.
But the opponent is a master level wind mage. So it could be broken through anytime soon. But at least for now, that mage won’t be able to hear what we’re talking.
’Master, you were told to act like a lazy guy who thinks that everything is already taken care of and want to return as soon as possible. Say something to the others there that you will take your leave. There are three mages coming to that location. If you’re their target, at least one of them will chase after you. You just have to kill your pursuer while the rest over there will take care of those who come. That’s what she told me to relay to you," Graham said.
I see. So I just need to take care of one of them. And hoping that the one who comes after me is the master level wind mage. While the rest will take care of the other two.
Well, killing one person in an instant is easier than two people at once. So I think this plan will work. Let’s hope that the master level wind mage noticed me.
Since the wind barrier was still not broken through, I told the others about the plan. Then it’s time to say goodbye to them.
"Seems like they’re doing well. I don’t think I will be needed here any longer. I’ll take my leave. I’m here mainly to guide you guys after all. Not exterminating monsters," I said casually as I tried to leave.
"Hold on! You can’t just leave before the mission is over!" the healer who healed me before complained. I guess he’s the best actor here.
"I can. I can’t do anything against many monsters. I can only fight weaker monster as well. And I just recovered from my injuries. Ouch. Ow. The pain is coming again. I need to go home and rest," I said casually while holding my stomach as if I’m in pain. Though it was obvious that I’m acting.
At this time, the master level wind mage who is coming heard me. I could tell from his reaction. While the expert level wind mage who created the barrier didn’t notice me at all. It seems like he’s stronger than I thought. So I gave the signal that someone already eavesdropping on us. And our wind mage looked dejected at how weak he was.
"Ow, ow, ow. I’m in pain. I’m going home. Bye," I said as I run away from there.
"Okay! Just go home, you coward! I’ll tell the guild that you withdraw from the mission! There won’t be any reward for you!" the healer shouted in anger.
"But my job is to guide you here. So I will ask the reward for that at least," I said.
And so I left. Still riding my horse.
The master level wind mage stopped. And the two idiots finally noticed him and flew toward him.
They are still within my range. Though I’m now focusing on the nest where the others were busy fighting. The five hiding master level mages were about to come out of their hiding spot and surprise everyone.
Well, it won’t be a surprise since we knew about them already.
I checked above again and see that the master level wind mage has me locked as his target. Seems like to make sure that I die, whether I’m the Aura user or not, he will do it himself. Maybe his status is higher than the master level earth mage who has been hiding under the city.
The receptionist said that I just have to kill the one chasing me. But I’m sure that if he dies and lost contact with whoever it is, the cult will know that the one he’s chasing, Robby, is the Aura user. So I have to think of a plan to make sure that didn’t happen.
And so, I rode my horse to a certain destination. Deeper in the forest. Where I saw something interesting with my Divine Vision during our march to the orc’s nest but I didn’t tell anyone about it. Not even my familiars.
’The master level wind mage is following me. As for the two idiots, they’re going to kill the others at the hill. Though I’m sure everyone will be okay. My status as the Aura user might be leaked if the master level wind mage died too quickly. So I will lure him to where I saw a group of lizardmen and make it as if they’re the one who killed the master level wind mage,’ I said via telepathy.
’She said that it’s a good idea and said that you should do it. The rest will be up to you, Master. I don’t think I need to say this, but this is what she told me to say to you. Good luck," Graham said.
Good luck. Graham knew me well enough that I don’t need luck to get rid of the master level wind mage. But he said it because it’s what the receptionist girl told him to say to me.
For now, the wind mage is watching me from afar. He’s probably going to kill me when he’s sure that I can’t ask for anyone’s help.
Well, that’s right. I won’t ask for anyone’s help. Getting rid of a single master level mage is easy to me. It’s just that this mission is making everything more complicated.
Well, if we get rid of all the spies here, then I can take some time to rest until another strangers entered the city. I’ll make sure that it will happen.
