Chapter 956: The Ultimate Game of Tag Part 3

Chapter 956: The Ultimate Game of Tag Part 3

"Hello, Graham. Good to see you still in play after this long," I said.

"It hasn’t even been an hour yet."

I guess time felt much longer when I’m being chased all the time.

Graham is not alone. Never alone. He can summon his shadow clones as long as he has enough mana.

And because this is still in the forest, there are many huge shadows where he can raise his shadow clone from. And the one he used to block me was the biggest one.

"Master, you said that the rule for this game was to avoid someone from getting injured badly. But even then, injuries are still unavoidable sometimes. How nice of you to not use your Divine Vision for this game. Giving us chance to win," Graham said.

"How long have you been here?" I asked.

"Long enough to eliminate ten people. The centaurs were hard to touch because they’re fast," Graham said.

He’s smart. I was right that he has been on standby here for a while already. Probably even from the start of the game.

Staying somewhere where most people would enter or exit the forest from, and he would have tagged many people passing by. And unfortunately, I might be next.

"So, can you just let your master pass?" I asked Graham.

"If I do, this won’t be a training anymore. And if you really want me to leave you alone, you would have force me to let you go since you’re my master. I’m sure even you don’t want to me to let you pass easily," he said.

Well, he’s right. Though I do thought that I would have faced my own familiars later on. But never thought that I would face one already this early.

"How about we team-up and face other people together?" I suggested.

If I have him by my side, I can cover more place easily. And I won’t have any problem because someone will have my back. And I can also cover for his back. That would be ideal.

Then until there’s only two of us left standing, we will face each other. That could be great.

"Well, I’ll tell you this then. It’s not a secret anyway. You are everyone’s target. That’s obvious," Graham said.

"I don’t think you need to remind me about that though," I replied.

"No, I do. It was actually Victoria who suggested it. Even if someone could be the last one standing, there could only be one who eliminated you. So she suggested a bet for everyone to be the first to eliminate you," Graham said.

That freaking slime!

So I became a target because they agreed with Victoria’s suggestion? Then there’s no way that anyone would be my partner. I will be all alone until I got eliminated. Though I don’t have any intention for that.

No wonder they just agreed to go after me right away. Even Victoria was riding on Cooldra’s back when they did.

Well, then I will just do my best to be the last one standing.

"Since that’s the case, then don’t blame me if I rough you up a little. You can also heal yourself anyway," I said.

"As expected of you. If there’s no other way, then there’s only violence. Not that I will let you do that though," Graham said as he created a spear from his shadow and used it as his weapon.

"Umm... I thought that weapon was banned?"

"No, you didn’t make such rule. In the end, what we need is just touching someone with our hand. As for the fight, there’s no such rule that I can’t use weapon," he said.

Now I’m being surrounded by several shadow clones, with the giant shadow clone behind me. And there’s also Graham in front of me. All of them were carrying spears made of shadow. I guess Graham forgot to bring his own spear for the game.

There’s no more talk. We both knew that there’s no use for more chatting. And he got his clones charged at me.

Since they are not players, even if I touch them, they won’t get eliminated. The only one I should be careful of is Graham.

I tried my best to avoid their attack. Even the giant shadow clone was quite fast. But I could do it.

I let myself get hurt as little as possible. And when the real Graham approached me, I will do my best to avoid.

Not allowing myself to use Divine Vision was suck. But it’s a good training as I learned to move better without depending on Divine Vision.

After clashing for a while, I heard noises coming toward us. It must be other monsters sensing that I’m here.

"They will come to you, Master."

Even Graham noticed them already.

"What make you think that they will only go after me? You do know that the less people in the game, the more likely they will win the bet, right? Since you should be famous among them, they won’t just let you be," I said.

Only now that Graham realized that not everyone who went after me is his ally. Some will go after him as well.

"...I guess Victoria was too smart. I bet she also told the others to bet on me, Shelia, and even Crabbe as well. But she kept it as secret from me. Though I’m sure that Shelia is happy," he said.

"If it’s her, I’m sure she is. Well, I don’t think that it’s a good idea to continue fighting here any longer. I’ll take my leave now."

Running toward the giant shadow clone, I lifted him up and slam him to the real Graham. The shadow clone obviously didn’t feel pain, but his huge body should be enough to block Graham and the others for a while.

I might be seen by someone else, but I decided to run in the air.

Being seen by everyone, now they all chased after me. And I entered a random house to hide and rest for a while.

Too many people chasing after me. It’s all Victoria’s fault. Though I wonder how she’s doing in this game. I hope she’s not cheating just because we all have Blobbies.

Soon after, a werewolf entered the house I was hiding.

"My king, it’s not right that you hide in my house," she said.

"I’m your king though. I should be able to do what I want," I said.

"Well, I don’t have anything I need to hide anyway. Though I have a question. If I touch you here, will that make me the Werewolf Queen?" she asked.

"Do you think just because you touched me that will make you the strongest one here?" I asked back.

"Well, I guess I won’t be the Queen. But to be able to eliminate you will be something to be proud of."

As soon as she said that, she charged at me. Using her claws, she even destroyed the walls of her house. Though I easily dodged her attack and touched her back to eliminate her.

"Sigh... I guess I was too overconfident. Though the others should have sensed the disturbance you caused and will come here soon," she said proudly.

"You’re the one who caused the disturbance! Bye!"

I left her house and this time, I’m jumping into the lake again and quickly leave before the same thing as before happened. I need to wash my body as many times as possible to erase my own scent.

If hiding didn’t work, then I need to be the one on the attack.

I have been running away from before. But I should start hunting instead. There’s no point in hiding all the time anyway.

So, I run toward the noisiest part of the village. And I can see many monsters playing tag. And the kids were watching them.

"Roy, they’re playing tag, right? It seems so... violent," Daniel said.

"The rules for our game of tag is much looser than when you kids played. This is more of a training than a game after all. Keep your distance or you might get hurt," I said.

Daniel, Alan, Lana, Luna, and other kids were here when they heard the noise. Though other than them, some eliminated monsters also nearby. I’m sure that they can protect the kids if something happened.

"Hey! The King is here!" one of the eliminated werewolves shouted when he saw me talking to Daniel.

"Well, I guess I have to join the game now. See you later, Daniel,"

I courageously walked toward all the monsters who were rushing toward me. Then using minimal movement, I touched them whle avoiding their hands. Using my left hand and my fake right hand, I touched their body and eliminated them.

"Don’t think that because you’re surrounding me, it will be easy to eliminate me. Though for me, it’s easy to eliminate several people at once if you surround me," I said confidently.

I will no longer be passive in this game. This time, I will be active and hunt as many of them as possible. Even if I meet Graham again, or the other powerful monsters, I will face them.

It won’t be training if I don’t do that, right?
