Chapter 957: The Ultimate Game of Tag Part 4
Chapter 957: The Ultimate Game of Tag Part 4
There’s one race in this game who are being forgotten by me. The vampires.
After the battle, they have been staying here and getting along with other monsters. But maybe because they rarely stay in this village, I forgot about their existence in this game.
If I was the one who brought them here today, then I wouldn’t forgot about them. But I didn’t. I brought them here a few days ago.
And that’s why when there were two vampires trying to face me when I had just decided to be active in this game, I let down my guard and was really close to being eliminated.
Maybe I shouldn’t be active in the game too soon when there were still many monsters playing.
The vampires were harder to deal with. Because they already have excellent physical abilities even when they didn’t use blood to power up. In fact, I was the one who told them to keep their body fit at all time so they don’t have to use much blood when there’s a real battle.
And the vampires’ strength are more all-rounder compared to the other monsters.
For example, although werewolves were strong, their power lies more in their speed. Even though the weretigers were fast, they excel more in their power.
But for vampires? Their power and speed are quite balanced. And when they want to, they can just increase their power, or speed, or both, or maybe even something else as long as they have enough blood.
Their biggest weakness is that they can’t swim when they drank a lot of blood already. Not like I want them to fight underwater.
Anyway, it’s impossible to eploit their weakness right now. Because we’re quite far from the lake. Though even if we’re close, there’s also the Crab People to worry about.
"He’s not using his Divine Vision. But we still have to be careful. He can still use his Aura," one of the vampires said.
The two vampires were a couple. The one who ended up together soon after I recruited them to join us in the fight. A male vampire and a female vampire.
I asked them once if they want to have a child or not, and they said that of course they want to. But for vampires to have children is difficult. They said that even usually, it took a couple decades until they were finally blessed with a child.
I guess it won’t be anytime soon that Lana and other kids will be able to play with vampire kids.
Two monsters with the power to manipulate their own speed or power. That’s very similar to me, an Aura user.
And so, I decided to only use the minimum amount of Aura to be able to roughly be equal in speed compared to vampires.
"Bring it on!" I shouted.
The male vampire and female vampire both attacked me together from my left and my right side. If I just face one of them, the other will enter my blind side after all. So I face my body sideway to not get any of them on my blind side.
Then, the male vampire reached out his hand. And I grabbed his hand with my left. Doing this won’t make me eliminated.
When I grabbed the male vampire’s hand, the female vampire stopped rushing toward me before she tried to move around me to my back. But I stopped her by spinning around.
I just spun around while still tightly holding the male vampire’s hand. And his body were flung toward the female vampire and slammed into her.
I guess I’m still smarter and stronger than them. The male vampire should have used his full power to stop me from moving after I grabbed him. But he didn’t do that. That’s why they lost.
"Well, that was clever of you to attack from two sides at once. But not good enough when you’re facing someone stonger than you," I said before I tagged them and eliminated them from the game.
"You should have hold his hand for a bit longer!"
I know that voice. And I know who would say something like that. It’s my most precious familiar, Victoria.
Am I being unfair to treat her more special compared to my other familiars? I am. But my other familiars also understood how important she was to me. With how I always use her as my weapon and never let her go far away from me.
I looked at the source of the voice. And there she was. Running over here on the back of a centaur together with several monsters who must have agreed to team-up with her.
She should be the weakest one in this game because she’s not riding Ray. But for her to be able to stay this long means that she has her own ways.
There are monsters of various race coming with her. Even though the centaur she was riding has been eliminated, that centaur still willing to help her.
I guess the most troublesome part of this game are the eliminated players. They can still play the game in their own way. Whether if it’s just sharing information, or even directly joining as the ride of someone else.
I don’t think I can last long facing them. So without a single bit of hesitation, I turned around and run the other way. Back to the village.
I was wrong to go into action so soon. I shouldn’t be active right away. Maybe after a bit more players got eliminated, that’s the right time to be active. But now that there are still many monsters in the game, it was too soon to be active.
And so, let’s hide!
Though with how well the monsters’ sense of smell were, I don’t think I can hide for too long. But it’s still good enough if I can hide for a bit until more monsters got eliminated.
...I never thought that I would be able to hide this long though.
It has been more than one hour after I escaped from Victoria’s group. And after I hid myself, no one managed to notice where I am. Even though I’m hiding in plain sight.
I should be the only human being in this village right now. But none of them noticed me.
How did I hide? Well, after I escaped from Victoria’s group, I made sure that there’s no one looking. Then I washed my body before I cover myself with the monsters’ dirty clothes.
Yes, now that the monsters are here and have a lot of clothes, monsters are doing their laundry. Or maybe they asked someone to do it for everyone because there were too many types of clothes here.
And monsters love to move around and sweat. So the dirty smell from the laundry now covering my body. Which should make my smell the same as other monsters. Is what I thought.
But I didn’t hide in the laundry. Because the smell of me coming here should be sensed by someone. So after enough time for the smell from the dirty clothes to stuck in my body, I left. Then I covered my body with mud and clay from around the lake.
And now, I’m right outside in front of the coloseum. Though this place is the one that everyone always missed. Because everyone only wants to enter the coloseum instead of looking at the scenery.
And I stand still for the whole hour there. Acting like I’m a statue. This will be as if someone made a statue of me. A statue covered in mud.
And that’s how I realized how smart I am. Because literally no one noticed me even though I’m standing in the open!
I did my best to stay calm even when Graham was nearby. Then Cooldra passed by, and no one still noticed.
Arin and some weretigers were facing each other right in front of me. But none of them noticed.
Even the werewolves missed me when I was right next to them. I was so lucky.
I was so nervous when I saw Shelia coming. She’s started smelling things around and she got closer to me. Luckily, Crabbe was nearby. And so, the two faced each other and move the fight somewhere else.
I felt like I used every amount of luck I have for this game. How come everyone is so stupid that they didn’t notice me at all? Though it’s good as I had enough time to wait until more people got eliminated.
And soon enough, Victoria was there. As expected, she didn’t get tricked. Because I have Blobbies with me after all.
She looked at me, but I didn’t look back. I was still a statue after all.
Then she looked around. There were many people trying to tag each outh out nearby. But none of them noticed me at all.
Then she looked at me and sighed. Even the centaur she was riding didn’t notice me.
The centaur didn’t know anything at all as Victoria ordered him to get closer to me. And I finally started to sweat.
"How come no one noticed you here?" Victoria asked the statue me. But I didn’t reply.
"What are you talking about, Boss?" the centaur asked.
She called her Boss? Well, I’m the Biggest Boss here then.
"That statue is Roy," Victoria said. Loud enough for everyone nearby to hear.
Then everyone looked at me.
"Hehehe."
I just smiled and waved my hand before I jumped away from there.
I saw that those who were fighting stopped and then they shouted their anger at me. It’s not my fault that they didn’t notice me.
Well, that was fun. But I think it’s time for the game to reach its peak.
