Chapter 954: The Ultimate Game of Tag Part 1

"Oh, Victoria’s clones covered me from my hands to my forearm," Shelia said after she took some Blobbies from me.

I should be resting since I still haven’t completely recovered my mana. But I don’t think I will use much magic here other than portal to return back home, so it’s fine. Even during the game, or should I say training, I don’t think I will use much magic.

After all, Victoria’s clones are from her own ability. Not mine. So I didn’t waste any mana to made this much Blobbies.

I added some new rule after watching the kids’ game. Everyone understood the game’s rules after watching the kids doing it. But I thought that it’s too much for training if anyone can just grab someone so easily.

So for now, I will make the game easier. By adding a defense mechanism.

What I mean by defense when it’s just a game of tag was from the hand up to the whole forearm. It was meant for defense. So if anyone touched someone around that area, it still counted as no touch. So no one will be eliminated.

But if they touched anywhere other than the place covered by the Blobbies, then they will be eliminated.

"This is the first game, so I’d like to make it simpler by adding defensive measure. After all, in real battle, you won’t just fight all the time. But you also need to protect yourself. Though later, there won’t be such rule. It’s to make it harder for the game and training. For now, this will do. If I find this game or training effective, then I will come again and increase the difficulty by erasing the defensive measure," I said.

If this training is not effective, then there’s no reason for me to play again. But I think this will be effective. Even if it won’t improve my already excellent agility, I can learn to strategize better when I’m being surrounded. That’s what I learned from watching Daniel’s play previously.

By the way, before this game, I told the human kids that they can go back home if they want to. But they refused it. Because they wanted to play with the monster kids.

It was just one game of tag. But somehow, the kids can easily get friendly with each others. They are so fast at being friends. Even Lana and Alan is already riding on the back of centaur kids. Lana rode on the back a girl centaur and saying that they’re both pretty, while Alan rode on the back of a male centaur and saying that they’re cool.

Then they made two groups of pretty and cool. The pretty group consist of mostly girls, and cool group consist of mostly boys. And they play games facing each other in the coloseum.

Well, it’s just friendly game. They won’t really fight for real for what is better. Being pretty or being cool.

Anyway, it’s time for us adults to play game. And the stage we will play will start from the village. And the furthest we can go is to the floating islands surrounding the village.

The floating islands are still part of the stage. But once anyone moved beyond that place, the Blobbies on them will transform and signaling that they have been eliminated.

Victoria will move on her own. But I still have Blobbies as my right hand so I can get used to it. I won’t transform it into a weapon in this game.

The vampires who were still here will play as well. The serpents were too big so they refused for the first game at least. They’re still considering if it’s a good idea to play or not.

Why does it feel like there will be a next game? I haven’t agreed to it though.

If I’m not here, there won’t be Blobbies for them. So they have to play without knowing who have been eliminated. Unless they are being honest.

We will start the game when the signal was sounded. And the one who will give the signal is the little Kaiser Dragon. He will roar loud enough for everyone to hear. Good thing that he’s not strong enough to instill fear on our mind with his roar.

"ROAAAR!!"

That’s a cute roar for a baby Kaiser Dragon. And the game finally started.

For my training, I will also learn to move instinctively. So I won’t use my Divine Vision.

But I didn’t tell this to the others. So they thought that I will use my Divine Vision and I will have a huge advantage knowing who is hiding where.

And that resulted in many of them, including Shelia and Graham who was interested in this game for some reason, chasing after me.

So many monsters surrounded me. And the only way to go for me is above. So I jumped high to the sky only to see Victoria was riding Cooldra.

"Gotcha!"

I didn’t tell them that there shouldn’t be a teamwork. So anyone can team-up with other people. But I never thought that Victoria already got Cooldra to work together with her.

From below, various monsters started following me. From above, dragons and angels.

No Divine Vision means that I can’t see an escape path like usual. So there’s only one thing left to do. To tag as many of them as possible.

I run toward Cooldra and about to tag him in his stomach. But he used amazing maneuver in the sky to avoid me, But I just continued running and tagged other dragons and angels on the way.

It was not easy. They all have experienced a lot of battles. Even if the angels focused more on healing than fighting, they still fought a lot. So it was hard for me to even touch them.

Luckily, not all of them were working together. A dragon suddenly came and touched the angel who was about to touch me. The angel got touched on his wing. But that still counted as being tagged. So he got eliminated.

"If you’re focusing on just one target, you won’t notice that you will be targeted as well," the dragon said.

He’s a wise dragon. Someone who used his wisdom for a game of tag.

"Thank you! But we’re still not friends for this game!" I shouted.

"Of course! I will tag you if I have the chance!" he replied.

The dragon and I then split up. Flying to different direction as the monsters who were surrounding me before started to face each other.

Even without Divine Vision, I can see when I turn my head back that Cooldra shook off Victoria from his back. I guess they made an agreement for her to not touch his back during the ride. Now that their plan fell through, there’s no reason for them to work together anymore.

Victoria was smart. So when she fell down, she altered her weight to be the lightest while also created wings behind her back. I guess for this game, she will stay in her humanoid form. Because if she turned into her slime form, it will be hard to know which part of her to touch. That’s just cheating.

My destination this time is the meadow nearby. That’s where Ray and other horse monsters were staying when they’re in Monsters World.

That’s right. They’re not part of the game but that doesn’t mean that I can’t ride them.

While Victoria was trying to run from Cooldra, she noticed where I was running toward. So she stopped caring about Cooldra.

"Roy is going to the horses! Don’t let him ride Ray! He said that it was for training his agility, but he tried to ride a horse when there’s a chance!" she shouted.

If I ride on Ray, the fastest creature in this place, there’s no way that I would win. Though that is not my intention at all.

When I got closer to where Ray and other horses is, I started shouting.

"Ray! Tell the other horses to stay away from the village for a while! We’re in the middle of a game!"

My intention was to make sure that there’s no one riding a horse. As for dragons, they are players in this game. So I won’t complain.

This way, the fastest players on land will be the centaurs who arrived here sooner than the other monsters. Not all of them though.

Ray then left the meadow toward the closest floating island. I think that’s enough to not get involved in this game.

Now, I need to escape from the centaurs. I can just fly, but that won’t be training at all. So I faced them. Is what I was about to do.

The centaurs stopped when they got close. But that’s a mistake when the elves and werewolves were right behind them. So now the centaurs had to face them as I escaped from the meadow where there’s no hiding spot.

And I ran to the forest. This forest is close to where the elves homes are. Or should I say that they raised this forest?

This game is surprisingly fun. Though there’s not much action yet from me.

But that’s also not for long. Because I heard someone chasing me already.

Well, this game is still far from over. So while training, let’s have a lot of fun here. Let’s just be a kid again and enjoy this game of tag.
