Chapter 953: The Kids Play First

Chapter 953: The Kids Play First

Today is the day to train. I’m already in the Monsters Village today. Ready to train.

Though before that I will explain my training to everyone. So everyone is gathering here around me.

"So, I’m actually here because I need to train. But how I train will be kind of weird since it won’t be a normal sparring. What we’re going to do is to play tag. And those who don’t think that it’s training can just not take any part. But first, let’s have all the children here to play it with the rules I created. Humans, werewolves, elves, and even dragons can play as long as they don’t try to hurt anyone," I said.

That’s my training method. But first, I need everyone to see it by the children demonstrating how it works.

This training is to improve our agility. And playing tag is the easier way to do it.

This might take a long time, or a short time to show the result. So I told Albert and the other kings that if they have some kind of emergency where I will be needed to call me. But if they have no need for me to help, then I hope that they can take care of it by themselves.

Because all the most powerful mages in our alliance were all training in the Spirit Mountain, the security in every kingdom is decreased. But that doesn’t mean that those who stayed behind were weak.

And more importantly, no one would think that the cult will send a lot of master level mages right away. So we’re sure that I don’t need to bring back those who were training in the Spirit Mountain to return. Even if we need them back, It will be at least just Veronica and Celestine. Those two have reached master level already in the only element they have. Earth for Celestine and Wind for Veronica.

I’m sure that the Evil God already knew that Veronica has joined us. The Archbisop was not restrained back when they met. As for Celestine, even though we tried to keep it as secret, I think the Evil God already expected her betrayal.

Anyway, other than those two, the rest won’t be able to come if there’s an emergency. So I hope the cult won’t make any big move anytime soon. Just a few of their master level mages. I hope that will be the case.

"So you want to play tag?" one of the monsters asked.

"Yeah. But there will be some rules. The rule is that everyone is it and everyone is trying to tag someone while avoiding to be tagged by other people. As most of you knew about the battle, the enemies are mostly mages. Just one hit from us and they can die. But what’s hard is to hit them. So I want to improve my agility. And this is also a good way to train. Because in a real battle, not just us who can kill them with one hit. They might also be able to kill any of us with one hit. That’s why I thought of this training method," I explained.

I saw a lot of people, either monsters or humans, died from one hit from the enemy. So using this method, we don’t have to fight until someone is seriously injured. Just one touch and the person who got touched will leave as if that person just died.

So this is a tag game where only one person will last. While the rest will die. I mean eliminated.

The touch can only be done with our hands. So if someone used other parts of their body, like feet or tail, then that won’t work.

Victoria and I made the rule this way to make us have less option in battle. Because not all battle will be performed at full strength.

And doing this will also make everyone learn to be more agile in not only their footworks. But also in their hands movement so they will find a way to always hit the enemy from any kind of position.

I explained the rules to everyone and even the children I brought. The orphans, Alan, Lana, Luna, and Daniel. Daniel is the oldest kid here. So he understood everything I said and told the other kids in an easier way for them to understand.

"If you don’t understand, we will watch the kids do it first. Let’s make the stage in the entire village first. If we do it ourselves, we need a bigger stage later," I said.

Then all the kids are ready to participate. With each of them had their hands covered black.

They are Blobbies. A lot of them. So when they touched someone, some Blobbies will separate and transferred to the eliminated player. And the Blobbies then will transform into something above the player’s head so the other players can see who have been eliminated and who still in play.

Victoria will also play later. But she won’t cheat. I hope.

Anyway, it’s the kids’ turn first.

All of them gathered in the Arena. Then I gave the starting signal using air magic to create a loud noise.

All the kids started to spread out. Some already tried to tag each other in the Arena, while some tried to leave.

There are many who can fly here. But I made the rule that they can only fly one meter above the ground. Though in the real game later by adults, there’s no rule about flying.

There won’t be any rule about using magic or weapon. Even if this game was created for training without any injury, that doesn’t mean that there won’t be any injury. Someone can still use magic to make the flying targets fall and they can tag them.

With this, it won’t just be agility they improved. But also they will start thinking on their own for the best way to reach someone.

And there’s no team here. But it doesn’t mean that it’s not allowed. Though I made sure to remind them that in real battle, it’s more likely that we will get outnumbered. So this is also a training to face multiple enemies.

Even more since the cult wouldn’t mind sacrificing someone. So it’s a good idea for this training because it means that everyone is enemy. Even if we decided to team up, we can just sacrifice someone.

I hope that they will enjoy this game. Or this method of training. Because this is actually very useful.

I run around the village as spectator along with the other monsters. The smart ones have seen enough to know what my intention is and agreed with this way of training. And the not smart ones didn’t think that far. They just thought that it would be great if they will be the last one standing. Which increases the competitiveness in this game.

I thought that when the kids are playing, it will be completely dominated by the werewolves at least. Because they are the most agile. But I was wrong.

Some werewolf kids were really good. Then the weretiger kids, even though they are slower, they still doing fine. The angels and dragons were fine because they’re allowed to fly so they can maneuver freely even though it’s just one meter above the ground. But a lot of them got eliminated quite early because they were overconfident.

There’s no vampire children because none of them were kids. The elf kids were light with their feet. The centaur kids were fast in a straight line. And the crab kids actually working together. They knew that they were not physically gifted in speed especially on land. So they decided to work together.

But the most surprising was human kids.

Alan was... normal. He got eliminated quickly.

Lana was strong. Now that she didn’t have to hold back her power against these monster kids, she’s doing really well. But her movement were still amateurish. I guess she needs more training and then she will be the strongest ice mage in the future.

Luna was even more amazing. I guess because she has Future Vision, she could avoid anyone approaching her from behind. Even if they are the agile elf kids or even a flying angel.

I thought that she could be the last one standing. But her physical strength was actually lower than other kids. So in the end, she got eliminated.

The most surprising one was Daniel.

"Daniel is really good. He’s using tactic to cover for his weaknesses. He’s tricky. I guess that’s just how someone who have been together with you since young will grow up as," Victoria commented.

That’s right. Daniel used tactics. And because he knew the rule well, he used traps and even baiting those flying kids to come down using various means. He even climbed a roof and wait until a dragon kid flew low and he just jumped to the dragon’s back without any fear.

I’m really proud of him. I know for sure that if there’s a danger in the future, Daniel can last the longest even if he’s not the strongest.

In the end, the match was over in two hours. The ones who got eliminated early still walk around the village and watch those who were still playing. They even told those who were playing about who and where the ones who are still playing were.

Obviously, the one who did it first was Daniel. He told those who were still in play where the others were hiding.

And finally, the winner was a weretiger kid. He was so happy to win a game. And now, even the adults were more interested with the game now.

"Well, the kids’ turn is over now. The adults are next."
