Chapter 943: Finishing the Battle

"I guess we’re done here. What’s next?" I asked Sara as she’s the one we picked as the leader of this infiltration. Though I won’t deny that I was the one doing everything.

"We’ll go back to the battle. As for you, how many times can you open portals anymore?" Sara asked.

"I think I can move three more times. Let’s just say two and save one in case an emergency happened. I don’t know if I will have enough rest to recover mana completely after this. But I think I have a way to get more mana before the battle is over," I said.

"Then let’s just use two. And knowing you, I think you can still do more than three, so it’s fine. Princess Shirley and I will return to the battle on the surface while you will transfer all the people here who are still alive to be imprisoned, including the zombies, and then you can move all the evidences we found to get more clues on what the cult were preparing and hopefully, all of the locations where the Evil God could be hiding. Since we seem to have stopped everyone here, you can just bring as many as possible," Sara said.

So, I will open up portal twice. The zombies and the prisoners to a prison, and other objects to expert investigators.

Actually, ever since all the kingdoms in this continent gathered together, we also made an elite group of non-fighters. They consist of veteran agents and appraisals from various countries working together to find clues in safe place from what we discovered.

So, whenever we found the cult’s bases, and after we made sure that the place is safe, it was mostly these people we brought to those places to investigate everything.

I heard that they found a lot of stuffs. But I never heard about the Evil God’s location from them. I guess that’s why they never consulted with me.

The veteran investigators and appraisals were busy with various other technology that the cult had created or were in the middle of creations. After all, some of them used to be researchers in their own countries as well.So they were quite interested in some of them. I just hope that they won’t use it for something bad.

The best part is that like usual, Albert had confirmed their loyalty to never betray us and join the cult.

Anyway, all the objects we found here, I will bring them to the place where all those veteran investigators gathered.

I moved the people who were still alive first because it will be annoying if they started to fight back.

I brought them, including the zombies, to a prison in Magicless Area. Now we only need to restrain them so that their strength won’t be enough to help them escape from the prison.

I opened a portal to the edge of the Magicless Area where the entrance of the prison was, and told the guards to help me bring them in.

The chief warden and several higher ups of this prison were the master level mages we found in the Magicless Area before. They seem to be disturbed because of the war. And after joining us for a while, they said that they would retire from fighting and will just stay in the Magicless Area. So we gave them the position of the warden and other high positions in the prison.

Seems like after living in the Magicless Area for more or less a century, they couldn’t keep up with what’s happening outside. But at least they promised to never betray us and join the cult. That’s what’s important.

Since we have master level mages who are experienced in fighting without magic, we don’t need to worry with how much master level mages were staying in this place. I heard that the warden even used the master level mage prisoners as their sparring partner. And it was obvious who win all the time.

Anyway, it’s safe to even get the zombies to stay there. So I gave them all to the prison guards.

"These are the zombies who might be useful for our experiments. I cut both legs of a zombie, but they still move. Carry these legs as well. The warden will surely be happy to face the zombies. Just be careful to not get bitten by these guys, or you will turn into zombies as well. Wait a minute, I’ll cover their mouth first," I said.

I ripped the clothes of the zombies themselves and use them to cover their mouth. Now no one has to worry about getting bitten and becoming zombies.

The death mage who used to be Timmy’s lover said that zombies are dangerous. They have no mind of their own, so they will attack almost everyone unless the death mage told them not to. And whenever they bite someone, those who got bitten will soon die and become zombies themselves. That’s why they are dangerous sine they can multiply easily.

Even if it’s just a light bite, don’t even think that you will survive.

As for how to beat them, I heard that she told the others about it. But since we couldn’t practice it since she had limited time, we only knew the theory. And I guess it’s time to test it in practice.

After that, I closed the portal and grabbed everything I could find in the facility. Even the things that Sara told me to be useless.

Then I opened a portal to where the veteran investigators were ready to accept the stuffs I brought.

"We found a lot of them. Do your best in finding more information," I said.

"...Sir Roy, please refrain to bring useless stuffs like someone’s underwear. There’s no need for you to bring them as we have no use for them. Also, whose fake teeth is this? It’s still wet," one of the investigator asked.

"Oh, one of the guards there threw them out after I gave him a light punch. One of those fake teeth is made of gold. I know that you got paid by everyone to do your job, but I also know that these useless stuffs that worth money were sold by you guys to get more pocket money. You can have them or sell them if they are useless to your investigation," I said.

I’m sure that they are paid well. But like any other humans, they have desire to get richer. Even if it’s just one fake tooth, it could be sold for some money.

I closed the portal when they started to shout something about too many underwear and I should at least bring women’s underwear instead of men’s. Even these people are perverts as well.

Sorry, but the majority of the people I found were men. I wonder why men joined the cult more than women?

Though I’m sure that some women even have their own preferences. That’s why they joined the cult.

From there, they somehow become loyal to the cult through various way. I assume that’s what happened.

When I reached the exit, the place where we entered first, I could see that someone somehow blocked it with earth. But there’s an opening made from the inside. Must be Shirley. She destroyed the blockade to escape from this place and rejoin the battle.

I also entered through that small opening and see that many people have died on both sides.

I just checked quickly and I saw that everyone close to me were still alive and fighting. So I feel relieved.

Then, Kayla approached me when she saw me exit the building.

"Do you find something?" she asked.

"We found a lot. We’ll hear about it in a few days. I think after this, I have to get a lot of rest to recover all my mana," I said.

"I’m also about to run out of mana. This fight is much more harder than usual. And we kept on fighting without sleeping after the reunion party," Kayla said.

Right. We were in the middle of reunion party when we suddenly got called. Then without any rest, we continued fighting for hours. I think even Angela must be tired.

I looked over the battlefield again to see the situation.

"Alright, you can get some rest. Just focus on protecting yourself. I will handle the rest," I said.

Then I contacted Ray via telepathy if he can still run. And he neighs positively. So I summoned him without the portal since it costs way less mana for it.

Thus the legend of knife-handed knight riding on a black horse killing enemies were started. Maybe I should make the knife on my hand a bit more fancier. Should I try a hook instead of a knife?

Just like that, the battle in the valley is over.

The other battlefields were also over. Even the one in the capital of Varadis.

Many were killed and buildings were destroyed. But we managed to minimize the casualties as much as possible. Which is great.

Now, it’s time to finally get some rest.
