Chapter 941: At the Lowest Floor
Chapter 941: At the Lowest Floor
We’re finally at the lowest floor in the facility in the valley. There’s only the earth below us.nothing else.
As for above, because I’m inside this place, I couldn’t even see if Kayla and the others were still fighting or it’s already over.
If it’s over, then maybe they would come in and join us. But I don’t think that’s the case with Kayla over there.
I had Victoria in Consenza. And the kings there can see everything that happened here from the camera attached to my chest.
Though I had many complained that I moved too fast and it made those who were watching dizzy several times. So whenever I was about to move fast, I told Victoria so that they can turn away from the screen.
Everyone watched what I experienced. And they can contact Kayla’s phone to tell them to not enter because they knew that there are traps everywhere.
Even if they didn’t contact Kayla, I’m sure that Kayla would have thought of contacting someone first to ask. And if it’s her, she would tell the others to not get inside the facility or tell them to be extremely careful.
Whatever the case, it’s impossible for me now that I’m so deep in the facility to tell what’s going on in the valley.
Now, let’s focus on what’s here in the deepest floor. First priority is Sonia’s location, second is the Evil God’s location, and third is any clues about the weird door that they talked about. Other than that, maybe just grab anything suspicious.
There were not many rooms in this floor. And most of them were empty. Except for the two rooms there.
One is the room with a wide entrance. From what I heard from the researcher before, I think that must be the door that lead us to the Evil God. Or at least it should e when it looked weird. For me right now, that door is extremely normal. Which means that the Evil God was no longer here.
I can’t see through that door. Maybe some kind of magic or material which makes me unable to see through the door.
Does Etherstone has that ability? To not let my Divine Vision see through the material? I’ll check on it later. Because if that’s the case, then that door must be made using the same material.
Next is another door on the side of the hallway which might be made from using the same material. In fact, most of the doors here were the same. Except that those doors were open. Except for the door at the end of the hallway and this one door.
"The door at the end might be the door that the researcher told us about. So let’s check that other room first," Sara said. Still in the air being lifted off by Shirley who also lifted several bags full of what we found here with her flight magic.
"Stay in the hallway. I’ll open the door myself in case there’s a trap," I said.
"But if that door is made by that Etherstone material which makes you unable to use Aura, you won’t be able to open it," Shirley said.
"Since no one is here, I can change my knife hand into key hand. It’s easy," I said.
Both Shirley and Sara understood that I can easily transform Blobbies into a key to open any locked door. I feel like I’m turning into a thief.
I stood in front of the door and check the door carefuly. I tried touching the door and see that I can still use Aura. But when my hand reached the handle of the door, I can’t use Aura.
"Seems like they only made the doorknob using Etherstone. I guess Etherstone is a very rare item then. Even the staff that the Archbishop used before has more Etherstone than this door," I said.
"So you can still use Aura, right? Then just destroy the door. If Sonia is there, she won’t even get hurt because she’s a ghost," Sara said.
"Well, that’s the thing. If this material can block Aura, maybe this material can also be used to exorcise ghosts. And if Sonia is trapped inside this room, then this door must have something that made her unable to leave. Maybe she can touch it? That’s why she got herself trapped," I said.
"Even if she’s trapped, she can just teleport anyway. Unless they also mixed the material used in Magic Restricting Collar on the door, wall, or just put the collar on her. If the other side of the door, the outer layer, was made using Etherstone, then you’re right that you may end up killing Sonia. Don’t burst through the door in one hit. Make a hole first, then shout to those inside to not stay in front of the door. Only then you can destroy the door," Sara said.
I did as she told me.
Since the handle was made by Etherstone, I aimed my left fist to the other side where the hinges should be.
Punched it several times not using my full power until I made an opening.
"Anyone inside?" I asked.
Though thanks to the hole, I can peek inside. And using my Divine Vision, I can see a ghost lying there. It’s Sonia. She’s here. But she’s not answering.
Checking her location, I destroyed the door while making sure that it won’t hit her. Then Sara and Shirley got inside first after I told them that there’s no trap inside.
I’m the last one to enter so I can protect them in case the enemy is coming from behind.
"Sonia! Wake up!"
Shirley shouted at Sonia right from above her. It feels as if she’s the ghost instead since she’s the one floating.
’Roy! Say this and she will wake up instantly.’
I heard Victoria’s telepathic message. Seems like I have to say something weird to wake Sonia up.
"Sonia, your harem members are in love with Victoria now!" I shouted.
"NOT THIS TIME AGAIN!"
Sonia woke up with a shout.
I knew that they had terrible relationship in the past with Sonia’s crush fell in love with Victoria. Seems like even as a ghost, she’s still traumatized by that event.
"She’s up now. Sonia, what’s happened here?" I asked.
"Where is that thieving slime?! I—"
"You don’t even have any harem members anymore. Wake up already. You’re a ghost!" I interrupted her who Was still unaware of her surrounding.
"Oh... that was embarrassing. So, what’s up, guys?" Sonia asked.
"That’s what we’re asking you! How did you end up fainting?" I asked again. But Sara interrupted me.
"No! We have to ask the most important question first. Sonia, were you tamed?" Sara asked.
Oh, right. That’s the most important part. Why did I forget about that?
It will be bad if she’s tamed. And I might end up killing her if she’s dangerous.
Then the answer came from someone else. Not the four of us here. But a portal opened next to Sonia’s location.
I was prepared to fight and even tried to stab whoever at the other side of the portal. But I stopped because I knew who that person is.
"It has been two weeks since my summoning level increased to expert level. And for my fourth familiar, Sonia suggested that it would be her. And to kept it as secret from everyone as a surprise."
The one coming out of the portal was my maid, Lina. Still in her maid uniform, she opened a portal from Cassau directly here.
"Is that true? Then there’s no need to worry about her being tamed by someone else. But maybe you should have tell me before so I won’t have to worry about Sonia," I said to Lina.
"Sorry. But this is what Sonia wanted," Lina said as we all looked at Sonia.
"What? Now that the phone has been invented, I’m not as useful as I was before. I thought that it would be better if I became a familiar since that’s also another way to get stronger. So I asked Lina to be my master," Sonia said.
I was worried for nothing. Let’s get back at them now.
"If you had just told me about it, I wouldn’t have lost a hand," I said as I lifted my knife hand and show them what I lost.
Sonia and Lina were shocked. And I can see regretful expression on their faces. I guess it was too much to be a joke.
"He’s just joking. Whether you told him or not, he would have lost his hand anyway. The Archbishop was too strong that he had to sacrifice his right hand to capture him," Shirley said.
I just smiled to ease their worry.
"So, what happened?" I asked.
"It’s him. The Evil God was here. And he was the same person who killed me in the past," Sonia said.
Jackpot! We found a clue about him at least. And he was truly the person who killed Sonia.
With this, we made a bit of progress with our mission. Though we need to kill him to finish this war.
Well, at least this was a huge step forward for us.
