The Only Aura User In Magic World

Chapter 940: They Don’t Worship the Evil God

Chapter 940: They Don’t Worship the Evil God

"All of them are what?!" Shirley asked after hearing my statement.

"I don’t think that it’s all of them. But most of them are master level mages. Including the researchers. But I think they lacked fighting experience. They only have strong body and strong magic," I said.

"Hmm... then it’s really bad," Sara said.

"Why? They’re not that strong though," I said.

"Look at where we are? If they can somehow cast powerful magic, then we will get crushed inside this place if they destroyed everything. Forget about finding clues. They will be destroyed as well," Sara explained.

I see. I guess that’s right.

They look so scared knowing that it’s just us three who entered this place. But their fear seem to be targeted at me.

It means that they were afraid of an Aura user. Not mages. Though they should know that I’m a master level summoner by how many familiars I have when I came down the valley at first.

Hmm? Do they have a way of communication other than using portals opened by summoners?

I have never heard about someone opening a portal from Victoria even though she fought here the longest until I brought her back. And when I asked her via telepathy, she also said that there were no portals opened at all.

’Nope. There’s no portal opened at all even when I fight on my own,’ Victoria said.

Then I also asked my other familiars if they saw someone opened a portal other than me.

’I didn’t see any,’ Crabbe said.

’Nothing here either,’ Graham said.

’I don’t think there were any. Not long after I defeated the dragonian, more people entered the portal and you also entered soon after. You should have noticed if there were any,’ Shirley said.

But for some reason, the researcher here noticed that I’m the Aura user they were looking for. Was it the armor they’re afraid of? Or maybe they watched my fight from the window? Though there’s no window looking over the battlefield before.

Does it mean that they have created cameras and TVs? Or is it something that I really wish to happen?

’Roy, Tomi and Sunglasses said that it could be something you expected. The fact that the Evil God is there. The Archbishop contacted his familiar next to the Evil God, and the Evil God, or maybe someone he trusted, relayed the message to the others there. Though there’s also a chance that the Evil God is already somewhere else since it has been a while since the Archbishop’s report. If someone else near him is a summoner, then he might have left already,’ Victoria said.

That is true. Though I know that everyone, including me, must have expected that someone here got the information from the Evil God. Maybe the Evil God has other monsters near him who were someone’s familiar. And that summoner was here.

Though we like to be positive in thinking that the Evil God is really here. Because if not, then we will continue this long war with no other choice.

For the others, it might just be a few years of war. But for me, it has already been a long time since I started.

What? I joined the war only at the last year of my life? So The length I joined the war is not much different than the others?

It’s still longer than the others. So for me, this has been a long war.

The Evil God was here, huh? Then, let’s ask someone.

The researcher who broke free from my grasp tried to fight me thinking that he’s stronger. But I hadn’t even used my Aura yet.

So this time, I used Aura to grab him. And he couldn’t let go of me at all before I stabbed my knife hand at him. Then I put the Magic Restricting Collar at him to make sure that he won’t be able to use magic.

"AAAAAH! HELP!"

"I’ll help you if you answer me my question," I said.

"You’re helping me?! But you’re the one trying to kill me!" the researcher keep shouting.

"Doesn’t it mean that you won’t be killed since I’m also the one who will help you?" I asked.

"Oh, right. Ask me anything then."

Alright, he might be a researcher. Someone who is smart enough to be called that. But he’s stupid with human interaction.

Did he truly believe that I will let go of him?

"Where is your God?" I asked the man.

"I don’t believe in any God!"

Huh? That’s weird.

"I mean the one you called the True God," I asked again.

"I don’t worship any God. I’m here because they pay me to do some research and promised to help me cultivate my magic to master level. I’m not here because of some God!" the man protested.

Hmm? So not everyone here is believer of the cult, huh? Some of them just got paid to do things that they want to do. Like this guy.

Seriously? They paid people like this, and promised them that they can reach master level. And they are not strong either. They can be considered as the weakest master level mages.

Which means that they became master level mages not to fight. But to have a long life and able to continue their research. And whoever paid them is smart enough so that they don’t have to look for more researchers. Just the same group of researchers for decades or maybe for hundred of years. Which could mean that they have been planning this for a long time.

Also, wasn’t the Professor too weak? He should be someone famous in the cult, right?

Hmm... does it mean that the Professor might actually be just a figurehead? Even though he’s quite smart?

Well, thinking about it won’t get me anywhere. Let’s just focus on the task at hand.

"Then, how about the God that everyone else worshiped? Is he here?" I asked.

"I don’t know. But there’s a room with weird door deeper in this lab. In the deepest floor. Sometimes, it’s just weird that the door suddenly disappeared," he said.

"That’s it! Do you know about whatever inside that door is?!" I asked again.

"You’re shouting so loudly. You make me feel scared."

What is this? Did he still think that I will help him?

"Okay, I’ll just ask someone else then. Since you can’t help me, then I won’t help you. Bye."

I slashed my knife hand at his neck. Then I grabbed the collar covered in blood. Even if it’s dirtied, it can still be used. Let’s say that it’s red for fashion. Maybe someone will voluntarily get captured.

...As if someone is that stupid.

The three of us now fight everyone here and tried asking them about the Evil God. When I saw someone tried to destroy the evidence of something that might be important, I stopped them by killing them.

Finally, after all the people in this floor died, we grouped up again and reported what we found out so far.

"It seems like there were no more traps from this floor onward. Also, that door that Veronica told us seems to be able to move around. Let’s think of that door as a monster from now on," Sara said.

"I also asked if they see a ghost wandering here, but they didn’t know anything about it. Seems like they never noticed that Sonia was here. Or maybe Sonia was never here in the first place," I said.

Sonia’s invisibility has grown. I don’t know how, but ghost can grow. And now, her invisibility is good enough for any average master level mages to not notice her unless she’s very close.

But if the Evil God was here, then he would have noticed that there’s an intruder.

Even worse if he recognized Sonia. After all, according to what we found, he started everything because of Sonia. And Sonia was one of the Aura users in the past that he killed first.

I feel like shit thinking all these negative thoughts. Let’s just hope that she’s okay and quickly go find her.

"If the Evil God can notice Sonia’s presence, then Sonia might be somewhere near the deepest level where the door that lead to the Evil God is supposed to be," Sara said.

"Good. Is there any other thing we need to ask the researchers or something that we need to bring out in this floor? If not, then let’s quickly go down," I said.

At the next floor, there were also some researchers. But no guards at all. I guess the guards were all dead in the previous floor trying to stop us.

I made sure that those researchers unable to move before we move on. Because they might have a lot of other information they can give us. And since they’re too strong as master level mages, even if they are weak, I had to break some bones and adjust their broken bones slightly so that even if there were healers, if their broken bones were healed using magic, it won’t get healed correctly.

I feel like I’m more evil than the Evil God. But it is to defeat the Evil God, so it’s justifiable.

Finally, we’re at the lowest floor. Where the weird door was supposed to be once in a while.

Now, where is Sonia? I hope she’s here.
