Chapter 923: Against Thousands
Chapter 923: Against Thousands
"Well, let’s go crazy!"
I shouted as I jumped down from the cliff into the valley. With all my familiars following behind me.
Victoria is not with me anymore. She’s riding on Ray as I jumped down on my own. I’ll be fighting using the sword that the Blacksmith made. With the cane probably useful as well.
With Victoria fighting on her own, or with Ray, we have five fighters against thousands master level mages. Though winning against them is not priority.
Our priority is to locate where those portals are placed. And for that, I have at least three ways to figure it out. But I can only pick two.
Why? Because the first way is to use my memory to remember where that place is located by seeing the landscape. But my memory sucks, so I can’t depend on it.
As for the other two, I’m doing the first one. Using Blobbyrifle to shoot Blobbybullets to each of the portals there.
And as soon as the bullet entered the portal, I made them move away from the portal and hide somewhere. But that might be impossible.
Because the portals are open. It means that there are the priest’s familiars in each of the portal. And I don’t know if it’s just one or maybe more.
Anything that entered the portal other than the people here could be detected. So I’m sure that someone will go after the Blobbies.
And so, here comes the next way. To get one of my familiar, other than Blobbies, to get into the portals.
There are three portals. So I need to send three familiars at least. And that’s enough to last until someone found where the portals are located and reinforcement came.
It took several shots until I got at least a Blobby inside each portal. Because they managed to stop the Blobbies to enter or the Blobbies got destroyed right away as soon as it entered. I guess the monsters in each locations are strong enough to notice the Blobbies. But after a few more shots, I got the Blobbies to move right away to avoid instant death.
And so, it’s time to get my real familiars to get to those locations.
"We will do as planned before. Because it seems like it’s impossible to prevent them all to enter the portal, I need three of you to get there. The three who will go are Shelia, Graham, and Crabbe. Victoria and Ray will fight with me here," I said via telepathy to all my familiars.
As soon as the portals was created by that priest, I made this plan. I don’t know if this is the best strategy we can use or not. I’m not Sunglasses or even Kayla. But I have faith in the strength of my familiars.
Victoria also relayed my plan to Albert with her phone before she hung up. We don’t have time to make a phone call after this. So they can only watch from the TV and unable to interact with us anymore.
"I understand," Graham said.
"I’ll do my best, Master," Crabbe said.
"I wish I’m the one staying behind though," Shelia complained.
Well, it’s just the usual Shelia.
"The portal you will go to is the one where the Blobbies I shot died the fastest. So the monster there could be the strongest," I said to Shelia.
"Then that’s fine. Send me now!" Shelia said excitedly.
It’s so easy to manipulate her desire to fight.
And so, while we’re mid-air and some of the enemies have cast their magic on us, I opened three portals for my three familiars to enter.
And all of them entered the portal at the same time before the magic reach us. So I closed the portal before I opened another big portal.
And this big portal is not for me to go somewhere. The portal opened is not for me. But for the magic attacked toward me.
And the target location is the Blobby I send down by moving down the wall of the cliff while I got everyone’s attention. And it’s targeted toward the enemies.
Which means that the magic they used to attack me will be returned back to them.
Though it didn’t do much.
Some of them died, but they are still master level mages. So most of them can protect themselves.
I thought that since they received magic attacks from master level mages, most of them will die. But I was wrong.
I guess it’s best to kill them directly using the sword. Or other weapons that I will turn the Blobbies I have into.
Now that we have became closer to them, the priest noticed something. That the others who came with me disappeared but he sensed it in another place.
"Get into the portals quickly! Those at the front, just enter the portals! Those at the back, kill them while moving forward! We have failed many of our plans before! We can’t afford to fail this one as well!" he said.
He noticed Shelia and the others appeared at the destination that his portals were going to. I can’t really see them from here, but I think they are fighting the monster there.
Still, that guy said that they can’t afford to fail this one. I guess that’s to be expected.
Thousands of master level mages are here together. They are preparing to destroy an entire country. Or even the whole continent
If I can kill that priest right now, the portals will close. But if there’s another summoner here, then they can escape.
This is a fight that is difficult to win. The only way to win is to kill everyone. But that might not be possible at all. So all I can do is to delay.
We finally landed on the ground. And I started killing those who are close to me first. Using powerful long-distance slash that can cut even magic, I killed a lot with one strike.
But they are master level mages. Not only they have great reflexes, their magic are stronger than average as well. So my attack got stopped soon after. But at least I have killed a few dozens of them already.
As for Ray and Victoria, they will be fine. They are weaker than me, so they can only do a hit and run tactics. Even if the one they hit didn’t die, they continue using that strategy.
"They are both Aura users! And the one who is not riding a horse is also a summoner with multiple familiars!" the priest said.
That’s right. I’m their main target other than any kingdom in this continent. So I’m sure that I can delay them here for as long as possible. I hope it will be until reinforcement arrives.
"Even if they are Aura users, we must focus with the task at hand! Destroy everything. If we can delay him here as much as possible until more people enter the portal, we will win," the priest said.
Don’t underestimate my familiars though. Shelia, Graham, and Crabbe are all strong. Especially Crabbe if there’s water near his location.
I tried to go near the portal, but there are too many people blocking us. They even had monsters to help even though those monsters killed some of the mages as well. How vicious.
This time, I no longer use long-distance slash here. I move around a lot like Victoria and Ray. With my right hand keep slashing the sword, while my left hand is also doing another important thing here. Drawing circle on the ground.
Well, it doesn’t have to be a circle. I just need to make sure that the line on the ground can connect together and to make a prison for them.
But it’s hard. Because I also have to jump around while avoiding their attack. Though it’s good because none of them care about each other. So they freely used their magic even if they killed their friends without a care.
But there are too many of them. I will die if this keeps going. So once in a while, I would jump into the air. Making it harder to connect the lines on the ground since they got erased by their footsteps.
And I already received multiple hits from small scale magic. Some of them are smart enough to make small magic instead of big ones to hit me. And they know that I would prefer to get hit by the small magic as long as it’s to pursue my goal.
Though I’m sure that none of them realized that my goal is to connect the lines on the ground. The lines that I drew using the tip of my cane.
More and more people entered the portal. Shelia and the others will have some trouble there. But I hope they can delay them from destroying anything before reinforcement arrives.
Finally, when there are around a thousand people left, I managed to connect the line and created a barrier. But I couldn’t get everyone there inside the barrier. But it’s enough to not get them all into the portals.
Then I looked at the priest who entered the portal where I transported Shelia to.
Knowing that the barrier will last for at least an hour, I chased after him. Leaving Victoria and Ray to take care of things here.
I won’t use portals mindlessly here. Or their magic attack can enter the portal and kill those inside the portal. So I entered the portal right before the priest closed them.
