Chapter 922: They are Preparing for Something Huge
Chapter 922: They are Preparing for Something Huge
"So there’s a hiding place in that valley where even your Divine Vision can’t see?" Albert asked.
"Yes. We don’t think that it’s a dungeon. Even if it is, someone or something must be hiding there. Could be related to the cult," I said.
Right now, we’re back in Consenza with the kings. Reporting about what Angela and I found in the valley we went to before.
I left a Blobby quite far from there so that even master level mages in that valley won’t be able to notice us when we return back there.
I don’t dare to get any closer than that because Angela thought that something dangerous is coming. If even Angela thought of it that way, then it could be something truly dangerous.
"Then we need to investigate that place. Roy, if it’s as dangerous as Angela claimed, then you have to do it alone. Also, don’t risk your life. Leave using a portal as soon as you think that it’s dangerous. You can get your familiars to help you there," Albert suggested.
"That’s what I’m planning to do," I said.
I won’t bring Angela back there. I will investigate on my own. Or at least with the help of my other familiars.
Victoria and Ray will be with me. Shelia will check on the land, Graham on the sky, and Crabbe will check the sea nearby. Though it’s farther than from the valley to where I marked the place with a Blobby, there’s a sea there. So I’ll go there first and put Crabbe there.
Just them. Not other monsters. Just so I can summon them using my summoning magic in case things got dangerous.
"Wait! What about me?" Angela asked.
"If it becomes a fight, it will be hard for me to escape with you since I have to find you first. But if it’s my familiars, then even if I leave first using a portal, I can summon them to my place. You’ll just stay here and wait," I said.
"But it’s dangerous there!" Angela shouted.
"That’s why after I find something there, I will escape as soon as possible. If it’s not dangerous, then I can bring other people with me. But for now, I need to check it by myself," I said. Trying to make her stay.
I finally managed to convince her. She will be staying here after I said that I will get a small camera attached to my chest to show everyone here about what I’m facing directly.
Then I opened a portal to Monsters World. Telling my familiars about what I will be doing.
"If it’s a fight, I’m in," Shelia said.
"I’ll do as you say," Graham said.
"Checking the sea? Isn’t that why you wanted me to be your familiar? I’ll do it," Crabbe said.
And so, I brought them all to near the valley.
Shelia will be waiting near where I opened a portal to. And Graham will be there above the clouds. As for Crabbe, I get to the sea first before summoning him there.
I have already told them that I might summon them away if I decided that it’s too dangerous for us.
The other two understand, but it’s hard to convince Shelia. So I said that I will arrange a fight for her against anyone she wanted to face if she follows my order. She agreed then. Though I think it will be me whom she pick.
"Now, let’s check over there," I said as I covered my body in magic armor.
"Wearing that right away? Are you going to tell everyone you see that you’re an enemy?" Victoria asked.
"Yes. It’s easier for me this way," I said.
I move closer to the valley. Now that I’m looking down from the edge of the mountain to see the place where my Divine Vision can’t see through. This time, I can see a bit of that place.
It’s a heavily guarded location with a lot of powerful mages. I’d like to sneak in, but that’s impossible. Because right now, there are way too many people there.
And worst of all, it seems as if they are preparing for a war. They are finally making their move.
Some of them are wearing different clothes than casual clothes. They are wearing a uniform. I guess they are the security guards of this place.
As for other people, they are wearing casual clothes. I guess unlike the army, they are just believer of the Evil God. Uniform is not important to them. Their faith is more important.
So it seems that they put more importance in the guards having uniform than those who will fight.
Then, one person wearing something like a priest garb stepped forward. He might be one of the higher ups from the cult. Maybe the real archbishop that Veronica and Celestine met in the past.
Since the kings are in Consenza, Celestine is there protecting Lynn and Claudia. So she must be watching right now. And if she knew about that priest, she would inform the others.
"Everyone, it’s time! They must be confused why there are multiple attacks happening at the same time. And during this confusion, we will attack the capital of Consenza first!" the man in priest garb said.
Knowing the location of the valley, I should have brought everyone away from Consenza. Maybe to Arturo since it’s furthest kingdom from here.
With so many people, and I think all of them are master level mages, it will be hard protecting Consenza without any casualties.
"Wait! We’re going to Consenza? I thought that we’re attacking Tatrama?" someone asked.
"I thought that it’s Varadis!"
Then it became noisy.
Seriously? Is there no plan at all?
"Obviously, we won’t tell any of you where we’re going to attack! It’s to let the one who might be listening think of where we’re going to attack. Even I might be lying! All you need to do is just to enter the portals and go crazy! Kill and destroy everything That’s all!" the man in priest garb said.
So, it might not even be Consenza? And it might even be other country than the big four kingdoms. And they are using monsters stationed somewhere as a portal.
And what he said about tricking someone who is listening... Don’t tell me that he knows that I’m here?
I need to be more careful as I hide my presence using Aura.
With my heightened senses, I continued to watch everything.
"Enough! Stop complaining! Does it matter where we’re going to attack? All you need to do is just to destroy everything and kill everyone! That’s all there is to it. Whether it’s Consenza, Tatrama, Arturo, Varadis, or any other countries, our goal is the same. For the True God!" the priest said.
"FOR THE TRUE GOD!"
Everyone shouted in unison. This is crazy.
This might be far more dangerous than any other missions we have done before. Because I can tell that all of them are fanatics.
Then, the priest waved his hand and three portals opened. Three of them. at the same time. And I can tell that all of them are created by that priest alone.
"He has at least three monsters. He knew about the fruit and he has reached advanced level as a summoner at least. Maybe more. So there might be two other familiars," I said.
In the end, the cult already know about the existence of Pear-y Fruit. I guess that’s not outside of expectation. But they didn’t just gave them away to all summoners it seems. Because many of them that we have faced only have one familiar.
And this is also not the time for me to stay in hiding. There are three portals that I don’t know whether they are opened to three different locations or just one. But I know that everyone who entered that portal only looking to destroy.
"...Shit. Victoria, what’s Albert saying?" I asked.
She has been in contact with Albert using her phone from the start. So Albert can give order to me through Victoria at once. Or maybe it’s a suggestion from Sunglasses.
"He said that knowing that we can’t afford to send people assuming that we will be under attack, he can’t help us. So he only have one thing to ask you. Which is to go crazy and return as soon as possible," Victoria said via telepathy.
I guess my brother knows that this is not the time for me to stay in hiding. This will be the first time that I will appear in front of them as an Aura user knowing that most of them will be able to get away. There’s no more secret that I can hide from them other than my identity as I will keep on covering my face.
"Shelia. Graham. Crabbe. You hear that? There’s no more need for you to guard your locations anymore. I’ll bring you all here soon and you all can go crazy," I said to all my familiars using telepathy.
And now, at the edge of the hill, I no longer hide my presence using Aura.
Soon after, all of them down there are looking at me. As expected of master level mages. And they are stronger than average master level mages as well.
I summoned my familiars there with me and told them about my plan before we jump down.
It’s us against them. About a thousand of them. While there are only six of us.
"Well, let’s go crazy!"
