Chapter 912: Finding Familiar Face at Night

"That guy has good eyesight. He can find you all the way here," Candy said after I kissed her.

"Well, it seems like the reunion will be interesting. Though it will still be in a few days or weeks until the. So, until then, do you want to hang around with me?" I asked Candy for a date.

"I’d like to. But I have a meeting with someone tonight. And I will be quite busy for the next few days as well. I’ll take my leave today. What will you do?" Candy asked.

"I’ll just stay here and watch the match. I’m bored and have no desire to do anything at the moment. Not even training. Even Victoria is going to a bookstore. Is there anyone else who might be someone I knew fighting next?" I asked.

"I don’t think so. Some of them are from the same school as you since there’s only one school here. But they are not at the same generation as you. Either they graduate before you enter school, or they haven’t started school yet when you left. Then, I’ll take my leave. Bye!"

Candy left the seat. Then I just sat there and watched the next match.

I also watched where the guy who was easily provoked by me went to. He left the Arena in anger. Though I don’t think that it’s anything important for me.

Candy also told me a few things about that guy. It’s about his fate after the stampede.

During the stampede, although we minimized the casualties, there were still some victims. Though mostly, they were only injured. Only a few death.

Even so, some of the injuries were too much and the hospital didn’t have enough doctor. There were not many healer as well. So some of the injured casualties died.

And two of them are that guy’s parent. He was unfortunate enough that there were not enough healers and doctors in Melk at that time.

I thought that there should be a lot of doctors and healers at the time. I guess even if there were no death casualties during the stampede, there were still some who died because their injuries were left untreated.

Even Kayla was busy healing people at the time. But I guess she didn’t have enough Mana to heal everyone even after she was focusing only on those with grave injuries.

Anyway, Candy said that that guy was smart enough to not blame it on the healers and doctors. Instead, he blamed it on the cult. I guess Shirley’s speech at that time was that great. It could influence people to blame the cult who wanted to destroy everything.

That guy at the time was weak. So he couldn’t do anything. That’s why he also blame himself for being weak. And that’s also why he became quite strong enough here. Becoming C-rank hunter in just a few years.

Though Candy said that he focused more on fighting in the Arena rather than finishing quests. That’s why he could only reach C-rank.

If he focused more on finishing quests, it won’t be hard for him to even reach rank B or even rank A.

Though I still don’t know why he’s looking at me with hostility. But I guess it’s because either Kayla or Angela. Or when I kissed Candy before.

He was not jealous. But he was disappointed because he saw someone familiar who was seen living a carefree life. And that someone was known to date Kayla in the past. Though I still am dating her now.

Well, that’s his decision whether he wants to hate me or not. I’m strong enough to take care of him if he does anything to me or the people around me. Though I hope that he still has enough common sense to not do anything to other people and just aim his hostility to me.

Well, hearing about his past, I don’t think that he’s a member of the cult or willing to join it. So I can leave him be and wait to see what he will do during the reunion.

The fighting in the Arena continued. But none of them are interesting to watch.

At most, the strongest mages that fought in the Arena were advanced level mages. I can easily defeat them with my air magic.

After I got bored, I left the Arena. Maybe I should have return to Cassau instead of staying.

Well, it’s fine to stay as well. I guess I’ll take a nap at the hotel.

I went to Wendy’s hotel. The hotel that we used as a base during the stampede. And I got greeted by the receptionist who recognized me from that time.

"Your room will be the same as before. Other than you or your companion, we would never have anyone else sleep there," she said.

"Is the employees here people like you?" I asked.

What I mean is that if everyone is agents. Because I don’t think that it’s a good idea to do business only using the agents. They can be sent to do other things instead of staying here and take care of the hotel.

"We came here because we heard that you’re coming. Usually, we have regular employees take care of the hotel. Though we only use the agent to clean your room in case you want to go there directly. Though it seems like you never even marked that room as a transfer point," she said.

"I’ll mark it today. Though I already had Kayla place a Blobby in her room. Alright, thanks."

Though I don’t know when I will come here other than to visit Oleg. I guess opening up a portal in Oleg’s house is safer.

Right. I also need to ask his wife to go to Cassau when Oleg is cultivating.

...I’ll do that later. Let’s take a nap for now.

I’m not tired at all. I just feel like taking a nap will be more beneficial for me today than doing other things. And I also don’t know if I will meet someone who recognize me. Because I’m sure that I have already forgot about them.

Although I watched the illusion of my past, since my school life was not interesting at all, they skipped a lot of it. So I couldn’t see much of my classmates in the illusion.

I don’t know if there will be other people who will act the same way as the guy in the Arena. And since it’s outside of the Arena, they might do something to me.

I’m not interested in interacting with them now. I’ll just interact with them during the reunion, and be done with them.

Maybe if they have some potential and Kayla thought of recruiting them, I will meet them quite often. Though if they are hostile to me, I don’t want to recruit them.

Let’s just place them far away from me. Though I might travel a lot again so I will still end up meeting them.

Well, it’s great that I don’t have good memory sometimes. Because even if I meet them again in the future, and they didn’t give me great impression in the reunion, I’m sure that I would have forget about them.

When I wake up, it’s midnight. And Angela is sleeping next to me. I guess she’s tired from doing something here. Maybe she met a lot of people she recognized.

If it’s her, I’m sure that she won’t just recruit anyone to join the army. She might not be smart, but she’s smart enough to not do anything stupid. She’s the kind of stupid that prefer to not do anything if it’s not related to anything that she likes. So she won’t mindlessly grabbed anyone to join the army no matter how strong they are.

Now I’m really not sleepy. So I left the room and roam around the city.

What should I do now? There’s really nothing that can entertain me.

Should I go to a brothel? I have lovers now. So that’s not a good idea.

...Or maybe it is.

At one of the brothel, I see someone familiar. Although I don’t remember much about her, I know that she was one of the prostitute from Red Tail. The same brothel where Sophie and Penny worked.

And now, instead of becoming a prostitute in that brothel, she owns that brothel. I guess I’ll have a chat with her. Maybe I’ll bring Sophie and Penny as well.

I entered her room in the brothel and she was shocked to see me. though she was happy that it’s someone she trusts.

Then in front of her, I opened a portal to get Sophie and Penny. They happily talked about many things after they were separated.

Well, this is nice. Sophie and Penny were happy to meet their old friend. And Penny even asked me to get Hannah since this woman was one of the girls who took care of Hannah when Penny was busy.

...Though the fun time got interrupted by some thugs disturbing the establishment.

Well, I’ll take care of it since I’m here anyway. And the problem is no longer there.
