The Only Aura User In Magic World

Chapter 906: He’s Not Here

Chapter 906: He’s Not Here

Now, we go to my home village. It didn’t even take an hour for Ray to get there.

When I remembered my past, after I returned back in time, it would take me about half a day just to get to the village from Melk. When I learned to use Aura, I don’t think I have been there at all. And now, Ray just need around half an hour to get there. And he’s not even in his fastest speed.

I reached my home village and see that everything has changed. It has become much bigger than before.

"Well, this is my home village. Maybe. Everything changed, but it should still be my home village," I said.

"I... don’t remember much at all other than from when I was watching your past. We should have met here the first time. But I didn’t remember at all even though you should be the one with brain damage," Victoria replied.

Now that she mentioned it, I checked my brain with my Divine Vision. It’s weird that I can do this, but I still do it anyway.

My brain is... normal. Maybe the damage is so small that even when I zoomed in with my Divine Vision, I can’t find it. Or maybe it’s some psychological thing due to trauma for being killed and get my brain stored for a really long time thanks to Javier.

My brain was forced to still be functioning even though I can’t do anything. That seems like I was put in a coma. Or maybe it’s worse since I didn’t even have a body.

Maybe it’s neither physical nor psychological. But magical.

This is a magic world. And there are too many things we can’t understand because of it. I think Marie is more specialized in this than me who is a doctor.

Anyway, Victoria shouldn’t remember much about this place because back then, she could only came out occasionally. At least once a day for a few hours. And every time it happened, I would ask for her guidance. So she shouldn’t have enough time to enjoy the view.

She could remember everything that Blobby saw and heard. But I might have put Blobby somewhere hidden in my person so Victoria was remember anything.

"There’s shouldn’t be anything interesting here. But where do you want to go?" I asked Victoria.

"How about we check your old house? Maybe the former king left you some clue about your inheritance," Victoria suggested.

"Well, it’s not like this is anything important anyway. We’re not even facing the cult. And this is probably not related at all with them. Let’s get it done sooner," I said.

"Then why are we doing this?" Victoria asked.

"I’m not interested with my real father. But Albert does. Maybe he can learn a secret or two from our father. And Albert is a good king, so he could be better if he learned from the previous king," I said.

I remember that the previous king died and Albert then took the throne. Since Randy was gone, and Shirley was young, Albert had no competition at all.

Then, because of his ability to detect lies, he governs the kingdom really well. He’s an amazing king.

Since I’m his brother, I hope that I can also use that ability to detect lie. That would be awesome.

Just like Fabio and Luna inherited the ability to see the future from his ancestor, I wanted one as well. Then combined with my Divine Vision, I can do many things.

Unfortunately, I didn’t get the ability to detect lies. But at least I have my brother to do it. Other than him, I also have an entire tribe of centaurs now that can help me if I want to see if someone is telling lies or not.

My house... should be over there. But it has changed greatly. And there’s a family living there.

"Well, I guess we can’t go there anymore," I said.

"What about the inside? Is there anything that you find?" Victoria asked.

"Nope. There’s nothing at all," I said.

There’s truly nothing at all left behind by my mother. Or stepfather.

"Roy, is that you?"

All of a sudden, someone called my name. Now, who is this guy?

"And you are?" I asked.

’Roy, he should be considered as your childhood friend. Though rather than playing, he mostly bullied you even though he’s younger,’ Victoria whispered.

Yeah, I remember now. Though even when I was watching the illusion of my past, he didn’t appear much. So I forgot about him as I never thought of him as important.

If I’m not wrong, his grandfather was the Village Chief. He’s the one we’re looking for.

If not for the illusion, I would have not remember how they’re all look.

"I’m the Village Chief’s grandson. Though I’m the Village Chief’s son now," he said.

I guess the Village Chief’s position is replaced by the son of the previous chief. Which makes him the Village Chief’s son. Unless the unthinkable happen and he’s talking about the same Village Chief. That would be disgusting.

"So, what do you want?" I asked.

"Me? What do you want? You returned here after so long. Even your house has been destroyed, rebuilt, and placed by another family. What are you doing returning back here? If you want to stay here, you have to work. We have more people here now, so we need more manpower. Go become a farmer or something," he said.

So that’s why he’s carrying a shovel. He’s a farmer now. Or at least he’s helping with the farm right now.

"I’m not here to stay. I heard that the previous Village Chief retired. I want to meet him because it’s important," I said.

"My grandpa? That’s difficult. After a while since you never returned, he told us that he’s retiring. After that, he left saying that he wanted to be alone and left the village. I don’t know where he is now. But maybe my father knows where he is," he said.

"Then take me to your father," I said.

"...Wow, so demanding. You’re a lot different than you were in the past. Well, me too. Come," he said.

Seems like he grows more mature now and won’t bother me. He might be younger, but he should have awakened his magic, right? It seems like he decided to live not as a mage, but just as a farmer here. Or maybe he’s aiming for the Village Chief title.

Back then, after my parents died when I was young, he would bully me because I’m an orphan. Though that’s not an important memory at all, so I can ignore it. Even everyone who was watching didn’t care at all about that event.

...Though they were laughing!

"OW!! What? Who was it?!"

While we were walking, I moved at my fastest speed to his right side, and slap him weakly in the face before returning back to my original position. Now we’re even.

"...So immature," Victoria said.

While he was confused, I just continued walking. I know where the house of the Village Chief is. So I don’t need his help. But it’s still good to bring him since he’s the Chief’s son.

It’s not far from my house, so we reached there right away. The location is not different from what I remembered, but the house is a bit bigger than it was in the past.

"You know that there’s a war with the cult, right? Her highness the Princess waged a war against the cult that time in Melk. So many people decided to go to war. But some who are too weak and afraid to die prefer to go to a village like this if they can’t find any jobs in the city. That’s why this village grew as big as it is now," he said proudly.

But is it peaceful? I think so.

Since this village became bigger, I’m sure that Albert must have send some agents here. And since there’s no report about the cult or any conflict here, I guess it’s peaceful.

Then, I met the guy’s father. The current Village Chief.

"You’re Roy. Are you looking to meet my father?" he asked.

"You know? Are you waiting for me?" I asked.

"Not me. But my father did. He said that one day you might return back to the village and will look for him. And he left me this letter for you in case you return," the Village Chief said.

A letter?

I opened the letter right there and read what it’s about. It’s just about where he is currently.

In the letter, the previous Village Chief said that he should be in the capital now. Living alone in a house there for his retirement. And I should look for him there if I need anything.

Why does it seem like he knew that I will be looking for him? I guess he really did know something.

"Alright, thanks. This is why I’m here, so I will leave," I said.

"Roy, this is your home. You can return back anytime you want," the Village Chief said kindly. I think this is the only time he ever speak kindly to me. I guess he’s also grow up a bit after becoming the chief.

I just waved my hand and left the house. It’s time to contact Albert now.
