Chapter 892: Can You Try it on a Ghost?

For about a few years after gaining Aura, Roy continued to train with his Aura until perfection. Or at least to what he thought as perfect. Slicing a boulder in two with Blobbysword.

"He didn’t even have any Aura ability. And he thought that the basic that every kid who learned to use Aura is something amazing?" Victoria complained on Roy’s action in the illusion.

"Well, if it was me back when I didn’t know about Roy, I would be surprised with that. So yeah, that was pretty strong for a beginner level mage," Shirley said.

"And he’s already this old when he first learned Aura. I’m so embarrassed to see that," Victoria said.

"Different era, different common sense. In the past, back when you were a human and learned to use Aura, I guess it was normal to laugh at the situation when a man in his thirties learned Aura. But in this age, Aura is just something from fairy tales. So it’s quite amazing," Shirley said.

"Sigh... I wonder why Javier, me, and the others didn’t just picked the me who was an Aura user when they chose someone to go back to the past? If it was me at that time, then there would be many other Aura users at that time. And killing the Evil God at that time should be easy as he wouldn’t have to be sealed using some sort of artifact," Victoria said.

"Maybe there’s a time limit. Like they can’t go back to the past over a thousand years ago. So they had no choice but to pick Roy since he was the only Aura user they knew at that time. And you were picked to be the main personality of the Black Slime because you were an Aura user and can teach Roy many things," Shirley said.

"I guess you’re right. Though I think my knowledge about my past life before I became an Aura user also helped. Because I know things that the people here don’t know, as long as I can find someone to help me with creating the things from my past life, then we can be at an advantage. So, Roy with the knowledge of the future, and I with the knowledge of the past and knowledge of another world, we can help each other," Victoria said.

"...Are you boasting right now?" Shirley asked.

"Oh, look! A new people to copy their heads! Sorry, but I will be busy for the next few seconds. Don’t talk to me then," Victoria said as she changed the topic abruptly.

Knowing that Victoria won’t say anything about that, Shirley just smiled. Then they continued watching Roy’s past.

As for the Spirit King, he was still confused.

Then he saw that the longer the illusion goes, the older Roy looked. The Roy in the illusion looked much more older and mature than the Roy who was sleeping while being surrounded by mini-heads and covered with inks.

’So it’s not just him who has secrets. But that Black Slime as well. She was an Aura user before she died and reincarnated as the Black Slime? And before she became an Aura user, she was a resident of another world with different kind of knowledge? If I can use my magic on her, I want to see it,’ the Spirit King thought.

But he couldn’t do that. Because while Victoria and Shirley were watching the illusion, the Spirit King already used that magic to Victoria. But no matter what he did, he couldn’t see Victoria’s past.

Even though he could just ask Victoria to show her past via his illusion magic, he doesn’t want to do it. Because that illusion will be directed by Victoria instead of showing the real past. It’s just the things that Victoria remembered or wanted to see. So everything could be a lie.

Also, the Spirit King thought that if everything she said was true, then even if he could use his magic to connect with Victoria’s mind, then he had to watch her past of three lives combined with more than a thousand years of history. Even if the time it took to watch the illusion will be quicker than real time, it will still take a long time to finish. Even Roy and Shirley would refuse to watch the illusion for that long.

"Hey, Spirit King. If you can’t use this magic on me, can you use it on that ghost sleeping over there?" Victoria asked as the illusion didn’t show anything important at the moment.

Because I couldn’t even use this magic on you. I don’t know if it will work on a ghost or not," the Spirit King said.

"Can you try it now?"

Shirley was also interested in that.

The illusion of Roy’s past then disappeared. It returned back to the normal flower garden. Then the Spirit King tried to use his magic on Sonia, the ghost.

"Hmm... I can’t. I can use it on some monsters, but it seems like both slime and ghost are impossible," the Spirit King said.

"Well, that’s okay then. Let’s continue where we left off," Shirley said.

The Spirit King returned to use his magic on Roy and continued where they left off.

Even though both Victoria and Shirley said that they were bored of watching some of the boring daily life of Roy, they still watched them.

It’s because they both love Roy. Though for Shirley, her love is that love between family members now after learning that Roy was her half-brother.

After Roy trained his Aura to what he thought to be perfection, he thought of leaving the village right away.

But he didn’t do that. Even though the villagers were not being kind to him all the time, most of them were his patients. So he said to the village chief that he would leave the village as soon as possible. And if there’s someone who wanted to be a doctor, he would leave after teaching them anything he could.

And some people were willing to try.

"So he left after teaching his student, huh?" Victoria said.

"It doesn’t seem to be the case though. Many of them gave up. Especially since Roy told them that they needed to go study at the city to get medical license. They didn’t have money for that, so they just gave up after learning some first aid. I guess Roy also gave up teaching more of them so he prepared to leave right away," Shirley said.

In the illusion, Roy left the village without ever saying farewell. Then he entered one of the city nearby and entered the guild.

After he took some request, he confirmed it that using Aura, he could defeat stronger monsters than the big wolf who attacked the village before.

But instead of taking more requests until he increased his hunter rank, he just signed up with the mercenary to join the war. It’s a mercenary group made of hunters who wanted to join the war. With Angela as their official leader. Though she didn’t do much because she stayed in the battlefield more than the office. She’s just a figurehead.

"...I guess she’s still not that good at using her head outside of magic and battle," Shirley said.

"At least we know how to get more allies from the hunters. Even more, it will became easier since our clan keep gaining fame. I’ll copy their faces because they’re people who were willing to fight the cult," Victoria said.

Since it’s a mercenary group with no cooperation at all between strangers, when there’s a war, they only fought however they want. So at first, Roy never got the chance to show off his ability.

Then slowly, he became more well-known as a hunter who uses sword because of the way he fought. And instead of going forward, he used his physical abilities which are slightly better than expert level mage’s to protect the mages on his side. So there were fewer casualties whether they fought a winning battle or losing battle. And some people started gathering around him.

"They might be great people. I hope we can meet them in the future," Shirley said.

"But most of them were young people. The old people ignored him for some reason. And those young people shouldn’t even be born yet at this time. We don’t even know if they will be born at all or not," Victoria said.

"I guess we can’t really ask for their help then. But it’s great that our forces, even in Tatrama alone, is already bigger than in Roy’s previous life. We have better chance to win the war now," Shirley said.

"No. It’s worse. Roy returned back to the city and entered brothel again. This time, he asked the service of the young women who shouldn’t be born at this time though in the illusion, they should be around 20 years old.
