Chapter 890: Reunion in the Village
Chapter 890: Reunion in the Village
A wolf entered the village and caused commotion. The wolf was big and strong enough to destroy houses. But Roy was pretty lucky because his clinic was slightly away from the center of the village.
Hearing that there’s a wolf in the village, there’s no way that he could stand still. Not because he has trained with a sword. But because he’s the doctor of the village.
Many people must have been injured. Or maybe dead. If he’s not there quickly, the injured people might die. That’s why he hurriedly run to the village wearing the white coat and a medical box. As for Blobby, Roy just left him in his training place as he could just summon it at will.
"Finally, we will see some action," Victoria said.
"Though the Roy today did so many actions. Why do you want to see more action?" Shirley asked.
"Well, watching nothing happened is boring. And there’s also no other place for me to draw on Roy’s face. So I want something to happen," Victoria said.
"Wait, when did you start drawing on Roy’s face?" Shirley asked as she looked at Roy’s face covered with doodles.
"Since Roy never left the village, and we only see the same people over and over again, I didn’t have to create more heads. So I got bored and started drawing. I’m already at his chest now," Victoria said.
Not only Roy’s face is covered with doodles, his neck and his chest are the same. No one noticed when Victoria removed Roy’s clothes.
"Is he always sleep like that?" Shirley asked.
"Nope. But maybe because of the Spirit King’s magic, Roy didn’t fight back and slept really well. It’s good that he can have a really good sleep free from all worries now," Victoria said.
Usually, even at home, Roy would still be aware even in his sleep. But now, letting down all his guard just to let Victoria and Shirley watch his past made him have a really deep sleep. And it’s something good since Victoria rarely seen Roy slept like that.
Usually, whenever Roy was asleep, even when he was exhausted after a battle, he would notice when Victoria drew something on his face. Even just touching his head or body slightly, he would react.
But now, even his chest was almost covered in black ink. It’s a much deeper sleep than usual.
"So you always have a marker with you?" Shirley asked.
"I convinced Roy to carry it with him at all time and some papers in case he needed to write something. Or me. I’m a writer after all. And since he never read my writings, he was never suspicious that I would do this on our travel," Victoria said.
"Though after this, he will not let you do that anymore," Shirley said.
"That’s fine. By the time he wakes up, his body will be covered in ink. And I would be satisfied with that," Victoria said.
Meanwhile, the Spirit King thought of something seeing the two girls.
’How come someone so ordinary ended up returning to the past and meet these crazy girls? Though if possible, I’d like to draw something as well. That looks fun!’
But the Spirit King decided to not do that and only focused on watching the illusion.
Roy ran to the village and helped as many people as possible. And told them to take shelter in his clinic until the wolf is gone since his clinic was a bit far from the village.
Roy still had no confidence to fight something as strong as that big wolf. Even for mages, it needed at least several intermediate level mages to defeat one.
And in a small village, there were only few people who still trained their magic. Even the strongest at that time was just intermediate level mage as most people gave up training while still in beginner level.
And there’s no way that Roy would think that he could kill a big wolf with a sword he just trained not for long.
As Roy helped the people and asked some healthy people for support to move the patients to his clinic, another house nearby was destroyed. And from the destroyed house, the big wolf appeared.
"Oh, fuck," Roy cursed.
After experiencing the stampede, he learned medicine to be a surgeon. And then when a tragedy happened in front of him, he thought that he would be able to help.
But he would never thought that in the end, he had to face the wolf alone. Even the guards who helped him before ran away leaving him behind.
The wolf looked at Roy and decided that he will be its next target.
Roy’s head went blank. All the training he did turned useless. And because he trained, he thought that the few bits of Shameless Survival Arts he invented were no longer useful, so he stopped thinking about them.
Roy fell on his butt on the ground as the wolf approached him.
"He looks funny when he’s old and scared," Victoria said.
"That’s what you’re thinking right now? He’s obviously in danger!" Shirley shouted. She would never thought that she would be panicked seeing Roy’s past. It’s all because she learned that he was her brother.
"Yes. This is his past. And it’s obvious that Roy will die. But not here and not now. We already have the living proof of the spoiler with us," Victoria said as he pointed at the sleeping Roy whom she called as living proof of the spoiler.
"Right. I forgot. He died in a battlefield from a tamed monster. And now, he’s not as old as when he was supposed to die. So he should be fine for the next few years," Shirley said.
And as expected, Roy didn’t die. Because an unexpected helper arrived.
It was Angela. The older version of the Angela they knew.
She was flying and about to go to the next battlefield. But she witnessed a village being destroyed by a wolf.
She was older, but weaker than the present Angela. So she couldn’t save everyone at that time even though she witnessed it. Only after Roy evacuated several people and the wolf approached him, she was close enough for her magic to reach the wolf and kill it in one shot.
The mature Angela wearing the sexy dress that Roy told them about. Something that improved her magic. Though in this life, she doesn’t wear dresses like that anymore. Because she has better equipment from Timmy’s hidden storage.
Victoria and Shirley recognized Angela. And they were shouting in excitement.
"That’s Angela! She’s really beautiful. Though I think that the present Angela is prettier," Victoria said.
"Well, from that magic strength, I think that she barely reached expert level in her fire magic. As for wind magic, it was still in advanced level. She’s so weak here. And the present Angela, she was too strong and it’s without a doubt that she will reach master level and can maintain her beauty for much longer. So it’s obvious that the present Angela is prettier than the older version. She’s far, but I can see several scars on her body. She must have experienced a lot in the past," Shirley said.
Angela in the illusion has scars in several locations. The result of the battle that she went through.
Roy recognized Angela. But he couldn’t say anything to her.
And Angela also recognized Roy. Although they never interacted with each other in the past life, Angela recognized the face of the man with only summoning element at school.
And because of that memory, Angela refused to meet him. She didn’t want to be reminded of the tragic past by meeting with someone from the same place even though she barely know him. So she left right away.
"If it’s a meeting just like that, it’s no wonder that Roy forgot about it," Victoria said.
But that meeting was important. Because after seeing someone from the past, Roy started to train more diligently. Because seeing someone from the past convinced him even more to not let the past happened again. And he also almost witnessed the same thing again.
Then one day, three hunters entered the village an asked for a doctor. They were brought to Roy’s clinic.
The three hunters were injured from a fight with some mages. And because their healer was killed, they had to ask a doctor.
They stayed in Roy’s clinic until their injuries were healed.
"Their faces look like bandits. I bet that they will rob the clinic," Victoria said.
"Or maybe worse. If you look closely inside their mouth, they have explosive device planted inside. They are members of the cult," Shirley said.
"...Do you watch the inside of people’s mouth when they were talking?" Victoria asked curiously.
"Only those with loud voice and always opened their mouth widely. It’s easy to tell if it’s them," Shirley said.
"I see. Since they are from the cult, I guess I should copy their heads," Victoria said as she created more of her clones.
"Wait, Victoria. What’s that?"
Shirley pointed at one figure that is not a head. And it was placed on Roy’s chest that has been covered completely with doodles.
"A figure of Angela in the future. If she grow old normally. I’m thinking of presenting this to Angela after I painted it," Victoria said.
"...Make a real-size figure instead. I’m sure that Angela will feel happier if she destroyed the real-size instead," Shirley said.
"I guess the fate of the statue is decided then. Let’s see what those cult members will do to Roy, shall we? I’m sure it won’t be good," Victoria said.
