Chapter 889: Roy Started to Practice with Sword

"It’s a peaceful life in the village. I guess that village is quite far from the influence of the cult," Victoria said.

They are still watching Roy’s past. And at this time, the illusion shows that Roy has been accepted by a village and became a village doctor with a small clinic.

"That’s probably right. Do we need to check that village out?" Shirley asked.

"And since we have been there a few times already, my guess is that in the future after the world became peaceful and the cult’s influence has disappear, he might choose to stay in that village to be a village doctor again. Though that’s just my assumption. Now that he has a harem and ability to open portal, there’s no need for him to stay in one place. Maybe he will even just stay in Monsters Village to entertain the monsters. I’m sure the monsters wanted to challenge him until they can win," Victoria guessed.

But Victoria’s guess is not completely wrong. Roy wanted to live a peaceful life after the cult is destroyed. And that village is one of his options to go to after the war end.

In the illusion, Roy asked a peddler to get him as much books about research and information about medicine. He didn’t even ask about anything other than that.

Roy was too weak to be involved in the war with the cult. Even Roy knew that there are many people who fought with the kingdom against the cult. Including the news of Angela who gained her fame.

"We only hear the news about the war since it’s far from the village. Even so, it doesn’t seem like Roy care about it," Shirley said.

"That’s wrong. He pretended to not care when he cared so much about it. That’s why the news we heard were louder than other voices. This is why watching people’s past is interesting. I can see who they really are," the Spirit King said.

The Spirit King has watched many people’s past. And in many of them, he saw the people with warm heart doing things that they were not supposed to do, but had to. And in some, he saw some people who act kind, but in truth, they are really evil.

It’s actually a normal thing. Because that’s what most people do. Acting.

They can’t do anything about the world or just their surrounding. Because they are weak or afraid of something. So they can only keep their evil within themselves.

And because of that experience, although it seems like Roy cared about the war in the illusion, the Spirit King knew that Roy was actually enraged hearing about it. And how he was so weak to do anything and can only heal people in the village. Away from the battlefield. But that’s only something the Spirit King knows. He doesn’t even care to share it with Shirley and Victoria.

"If only we could see the battlefield, I’m sure that we will learn a lot more. What a shame," Shirley said.

Shirley and Victoria cared about what happened back then. But they didn’t care about how Roy was going in the past. Because they knew how Roy is going now.

As long as the cult is destroyed, Roy will be fine. That’s the fact that they already knew.

Roy healed the villagers or hunters who visited. Because of the cheap price he set, some poor hunters from the city would come for medical purpose.

Roy didn’t set the price to be cheap because he was kind. It was because he knew that there’s nothing he could do if some strong people appeared and asked to be healed.

In fact, the illusion is now showing how C-rank hunters who pleaded Roy to heal their disease robbed him after they were healed. But at this time, Roy was smart enough to not keep all the money in his house/clinic. This was when he invented more ways of surviving shamelessly. Like having as little money in his Hunter Card, and store his cash in a bag and hid it somewhere no one will find.

And luckily, no one tried to kill him because he was too weak. Because they knew that he could be exploited in case they got injured in the future.

Thanks to that, several of those hunters returned to his clinic many times. And that made the villager afraid to get involved with Roy unless they got sick or injured.

The villagers there are all weak. They didn’t get satisfying element when they were young, so none of them tried to make a living as mages.

And then one day, one of the villagers returned home telling the others how he defeated a boar on his own and asked the other villagers to help him bring the body of the boar back to the village for feast.

It was not an adult boar. It’s just a boar that almost reached adulthood. Still, it was a boar monster.

The villager killed the boar with his axe as he was a lumberjack. It was lucky since it seems like the boar was injured.

Then, Roy realized something.

"If a villager could kill a boar with blunt axe, doesn’t it mean that I can kill monster with weapon that Blobby transformed to? I can even slice human’s body with using her as surgery tool. So it’s possible, right?"

And so, Roy who was about thirty years old at that time, started training his body. it’s not just training his stamina anymore. But he also trained to swing a weapon. And the weapon he picked was a sword. A Blobbysword.

That’s not without reason. It was because there were many times that the children in the village visited his clinics. Since they were children, they got injured a lot. And when they got sick, their parents were worried and brought them to the clinic as it was the only clinic in the village.

So, Roy also asked a traveling merchant to bring books for children to read. And in his spare time, he also taught the children to read before they even went to school.

And in one of those books, there’s a story about Aura user who swung his sword to fight evil.

Influenced by the story, he learned to wield a sword.

"Thought in the end, he used various kind of weapons. And instead of a sword, he used katana and spear more," Victoria said.

"I guess he learned to utilize you better now," Shirley said.

Roy kept training every day while also taking care of his clinic. When there’s no patient, he would train. And other times, he would read about medical discovery that happened outside the village from the traveling merchant.

"That merchant should be an adult already in this life. Maybe we can meet him now," Shirley said.

"But don’t forget that we changed the life of so many people. Maybe that merchant is not a merchant now," Victoria said.

"That’s very likely.Though I feel like I have met that merchant. I wonder where?" Shirley thought loudly.

"What if that merchant is actually an agent of Tatrama? Then it makes sense if you met him," Victoria said.

"Right. That is possible," Shirley said.

Finally one day, when Roy was swinging his sword at a wooden target, instead of making a slashing mark on the wooden target as usual, he sliced the target in two.

"Oh, has he learned Aura?" Shirley asked.

"No. I think he has just gotten used to swinging his sword. That slash took too much effort for it to be called Aura. It’s just power, skill and, technique. But I think it won’t be far before he could use Aura," Victoria said.

It’s just Roy’s past. And it was mostly seen in first person point of view. But those who watched it know that Roy felt delighted after that swing.

"Well, he felt pretty satisfied with that slash. But from what I heard, he only started fighting after learning to use Aura. So he must still be training after this," Victoria said.

That is right.

Not wanting to forget the feel of that slash, Roy quickly make another target and tried to do it until he could do it again and again. To make sure that it was not luck.

Then one day, when there’s no patient in his clinic, Roy suddenly heard the sounds of screaming from the village. There’s a wolf monster attacking the village.

"That wolf must be separated from its pack. Is this when Roy learned to use Aura? When he killed that wolf?" Victoria asked.

"Well, we can only see what will happen next. Let’s just watch it," Shirley said.
