Chapter 1151: Another Desert Mission
Chapter 1151: Another Desert Mission
The pandas healed me! Now I have the power to take on quests again and interact with hunters! Though I hope I don’t have to interact with hunters much. I don’t like them.
It’s the day after Georgia talked about everything she remembered. Next time we have some other questions, we will ask her again. For now, the Kings are moving according to the information we got.
And I, I will continue increasing my fame and get rid of the fake members of the clan while clearing difficult quests.
There’s still another day until I become an S-rank hunter. And I’m actually still a C-rank hunter today.
I returned to the city in Consenza near the desert and waited for a while. Eating my second, third, and fourth breakfast on different places here. And Airy, cakes are not for breakfast.
Maybe it’s because she’s a spirit. I don’t know. As long as she’s happy.
I didn’t go to the guild too early because there are many people taking the quests. Hunters. And I don’t want to interact with them as much as possible.
Though I keep everything in check with my Divine Vision. The guy that I made to wet himself last time is insisting on taking difficult request without ranks limitation. At least that’s how it seems from this point of view. I can’t hear him talking from here.
Well, I actually can. I have improved my hearing sense a lot. It’s just that there are too many people talking. Not just in the guild. But also outside as well.
I’m not good enough to isolate someone’s conversation from far away. Maybe I could if I use air magic. But the other party is an expert level mage. He will notice when I use magic.
And I know what he’s doing because I can see that the receptionist had no choice but to show him the quests. Those are for me though. Not for him.
Well, he might be able to do it. If he can’t, then I might end up saving his life. Just to show him my level. And to tell him that no matter how much he tried, he will never be able to surpass me.
That’s only if he has problem with the quest. If not, then it’s good for him and the city to clear difficult quest.
And it’s not like we will meet anyway. While I can travel around the desert in hours, by that time, he and his party will only reach the desert.
For now, I’ll wait another hour until he left the guild. I’m not impatient enough to go there and cause trouble with him just by being there.
He might be annoying and was the strongest hunter here. But I don’t know about his relation with the cult.
If he’s the kind that want to kill anyone related with the cult right away, then it’s best if I don’t cause him trouble anymore. But I won’t expect anything when I see him.
After my ninth breakfast, I finally entered the guild. There are not many people here because most hunters already left for their quests.
I casually walked to the counter and ask the receptionist the usual.
"Quests, please," I said.
"...Alright."
She grabbed a bunch of papers from under the counter and put them on the counter. There are way more quests than two days ago.
"...Eliminate those that are not urgent and something like escorting clients. I’ll be waiting on that table over there. Just call me when you’re done," I said.
Too many. I don’t want to read them all because I will probably think that everything is doable. Except for the escorting quest. Because that would be troublesome. It takes days to finish it.
Should I just take it and finish the quest by transporting them with portal? That would be done in seconds.
Hmm... this could be good to spread the knowledge about portals. I might actually do some escort missions.
Maybe I won’t. Other hunters actually like doing escort missions. So I won’t take it from them.
There are some difficult quests related to escorting. But I won’t take it. Because it seems like even ordinary hunters can take those quests.
Should I get Shelia, Graham, Crabbe, and even Victoria to take quests? Maybe they should register first.
Shelia and Victoria are already hunters. High-ranking ones at that. As for Graham and Crabbe, it’s rare for them to be on Earth other than during war. So they haven’t registered yet.
Maybe I can be a summoner with all of my familiars reached S-rank as hunters. Though that means I have to wait another three days at the soonest.
Well, I’ll take the quests on my own first. I’ll think about it later.
Soon after the receptionist called me and gave me ten difficult quests. I read them to see what they are.
Oh, there’s quest to gather rare material found in the desert. I’ll take that one later. For now, I’ll take all subjugation quests. Six of them. The rest, I’ll do it if I still have the time later after I finish these six quests first.
"These six first. I might or might not take the other quests later," I said.
"Alright. Then, good luck with the quests!" the receptionist said.
She didn’t say anything. Usually, a receptionist would tell the hunters if they are too weak or their level is too low to take a certain quest. But maybe because of what happened two days ago, she didn’t say anything to me.
That’s fine. That’s better for me.
Just like before, I summoned Ray and move toward the destination right away. The desert.
I think Celestine can find the target here faster than me. But I don’t need her help at the moment. I’ll just search for the targets by myself.
Six targets. Six different types of monster. As for the total I have to kill, it will be much more than that.
And I finished taking care of three of them in an hour. It’s not hard. It’s just take a while until I can find where they are. This desert is the biggest desert in the continent after all.
The other three are harder to find. Because they live underground. So even if I find them, I have to dig into the sand.
Then three hours later, I finished all the quests. There’s no monster stronger than the monsters I have in my kingdom. So again, it’s another easy job.
And as I was about to go back, I see several people riding horses being chased by scorpion monsters. Those scorpions are pretty fast.
Should I help? I think that will increase my reputation. So that’s what I should do.
Ray is not running in the sky so we passed each other.
"Don’t go there! There are desert scorpions there!" one of them said.
There are only five people. They seem to live luxuriously looking at the clothes and accessories they wear. All of them are men.
I ignored him and just rushed toward the scorpions. And I killed them instantly.
They’re not one of the quest targets I took. But they have material for other quest. Their poison that can be used as medicine. I’ll take their poison and bring them back to the guild.
The five people saw the scorpions no longer chasing after them. Then they returned to see me collecting the poison gland of the scorpions.
"You defeated all of them?"
Yes, Mr. Obvious. I’m not interested in talking to him though.
"Cough. Thank you, stranger. I am the Emperor of Consenza. As the reward for saving me, I’ll allow you to stay under my wing. You will be rewarded handsomely. After all, I’m the Emperor!" the one wearing the most luxurious robe said.
Emperor of Consenza? That’s highly suspicious. Consenza has an Empress not an Emperor.
I finished collecting the poison glands and stared at him. Then the other four people shouted at me angrily.
"You’re so rude! His Majesty is speaking with you! Lower your head!"
"I’ll kill you if you think of doing anything!"
Hmm... they are way too suspicious.
"You think you can kill me when you can’t kill these weak scorpions? One more thing. You are already within my range. If you threaten me, you can’t blame me when I kill you," I said.
With my threat, everyone looks scared. Still, what should I do with them?
Well, it’s not my problem. But if there’s something going on in this Empire that can cause trouble with the alliance, it’s best to clear all misunderstanding.
If these guys are enemies, then I can just kill them later.
"For now, go to sleep," I said as I use air magic to put them all to sleep.
Now all of them, including their horses, are sleeping. And I threw them all to an empty island before going back to the guild.
They might be someone important. But my quests are more important. Let’s finish reporting them first before telling Lynn about these people.
