Chapter 1140: The Hunters Joining the Fight
Chapter 1140: The Hunters Joining the Fight
Good. Angela stopped the children. Now we can focus on the others.
Yes, the cult might be sending experimented children to attack us. Artificial master level mages stronger than the mohawks. The baldies.
But it doesn’t mean that only children are attacking the capital of Tatrama. There are adults and monsters as well. And for them, we don’t need to hesitate.
I’m sorry if those adults are people who got experimented on as children. But it doesn’t matter. It’s best to not know about that.
I’ll get the smart people to take care of that.
Still, even if we captured the children, it’s not like we can save them all. They have been brainwashed. Even if they haven’t, their upbringings told them that the cult is the right one. So it will be hard to convince them to not fight.
And there’s a limit to what old man Henry’s friend can do. The one who can use mind magic or something. He’s old. And he’s not strong.
We are still looking for another person who has that magic element as well. That will let them able to manipulate mind. But we haven’t found any. It is such a rare element after all. Maybe as rare as death element.
Until we can find a way to erase the brainwashing on the children, we have to rely on old man Henry’s friend. There’s nothing else we can do.
Probably, those kids will be imprisoned until they’re finally free. I don’t know if that is crueler than just killing them or not. But I’m glad that I won’t be the one planning to do it.
Angela is flying only a bit slower than Ray’s fastest speed right now. And she easily captured the children.
If there are other enemies captured inside the dome she created, she will separate them from the children. And if there are allies, she would prepare a way out for them.
For the children who are earth mages, Angela created the floor where they’re standing with mixed element of soil and ice. So they won’t be able to get out of there from underground.
Did she think of that all by herself? That is surprising?
I ride Ray next to the flying Angela and asked her about it.
"I tried to separate them. But they have one way or another to leave. So I have to modify the dome as quick as possible before they could escape," she said.
...So she didn’t plan it. She reacted to their reaction after they got captured.
Genius is just different after all. She’s amazing.
I know that Angela’s senses have become sharper after reaching master level. But I accompany her so we can capture all the children as fast as possible. I will guide her using my Divine Vision.
"Over there, twelve of them. Then from that side, fifty-three," I said to Angela who quickly created more domes using her magic.
With her, I don’t have to do much. This is fine once in a while.
"Maybe after this, we will no longer be told to go to the same war together. It’s better if we’re split and told to go to a separate battlefield," I said to Angela.
"Well, that’s good, isn’t it? We can handle more battlefields. Just the two of us," she said.
"It is. But we have to continue to be the strongest for everyone so they can trust us to move on our own," I said.
We have to be the strongest. And it’s not just about our strength in the alliance. It’s also to compare against the enemies. We have to be extraordinarily stronger than our enemies. Able to kill multiple master level mages at once. If we can’t, then we can lose the trusts of the Kings.
"Oh, seems like you captured most of the children already. There are only adults and monsters left behind. What will you do?" I asked.
"What do you think I should do?" she asked me back.
"How would I know? If you want to fight, just fight. If you don’t want to, just don’t. We have enough forces to let other people to kill the enemies instead of us," I said.
"Hmm... then I’ll check all the domes I created to see if there’s anything wrong with the children. I’ll see you around then!"
And Angela left on her own. Checking the dome she created one by one.
As for me, I’ll go and check the others.
They are fighting really well. No enemies can get close to the capital.
And after a while, the hunters who wanted to fight arrived at the battlefield. And they were shocked to see that we could defeat the enemies rather easily. One of our master level mages could defeat two or three of their master level mages.
Once again, the hunters realized that there’s nothing they can do. But that’s not good. Because in the end, we might rely on hunters for our help.
"...So I ask of you for that, Roy. Tell them what I just told you," Sunglasses said after I told him about the hunters.
So while riding on Ray with full armor on, I approached the hunters.
"Hey! Hunters! Don’t bother trying to fight another human. Most of them are master level mages! You are better in fighting monsters than fighting humans. Split into two teams. One team will go to the north and the other will go to the west. That’s where most monsters are coming from. If you survive and return safely back to the capital, we will reward you with a lot of magic stones! I hope you will use your strength to protect the world," I said.
They’re hunters. They will more likely to move with a reward in sight. So I promised them that.
We have a lot of magic stones after all. Especially in the Spirit Mountain. We have a lot that we don’t use because we rely on the existence of the Spirits instead of using the magic stones.
Is this okay though? To let them get stronger?
Obviously it’s okay. And Sunglasses told me that once a lot of hunters reached expert level, we could recruit them personally. Or even if we can’t recruit them, we can sponsor them so they will be able to reach master level.
I’m just glad that we will get more allies. I’ll let the others think of how to convince the hunters to fight with us.
I watched them as they split up into two groups. Each side will have someone with a decent popularity to lead. And they were about to leave when Wendy and Kron appeared.
"Are they the hunters?" Wendy asked.
"Yes. Why are you here?"
"To deliver them to the battlefield faster," Wendy said.
Oh. I understand.
Then Kron easily used wind magic to lift a group.
"Ahaha! All of you will go with me! Just fight the monsters! We will take care of the humans. If the monsters are too strong, just retreat! I will help if that’s the case!"
Just like that, and Kron flew everyone to the destination. The other group then stares at Wendy. They know that she will do the same.
"Similar to what he said. Focus on the monsters. Most of the enemies are master level mages. Let us take care of them. But if they somehow get closer to you, you can fight back or withdraw until someone arrives to help. Prepare yourself since I will fly you there right away," Wendy said.
Unlike Kron, Wendy told them to prepare themselves before she flew them away.
With this, we only need to focus on the humans. That is good. Kron and Wendy can help the hunters in case they need it.
I’ll just go around and kill anyone who is separated from the group. Someone who might reach the capital on their own.
I found a small group trying to infiltrate. So I killed them all easily.
Then I keep finding groups like that over and over again. Are they going all out with this attack? I doubt it.
With Ray running at his full speed, I don’t have to worry about anyone catching up to me. They don’t have anything or anyone faster than Ray.
And it’s also probably the training I did when I was looking for monsters for Maya. Using Victoriarmor at her heaviest weight. So now I can move easily even with the wind pressure that could blow people away just by riding on Ray’s back.
I didn’t just kill anyone. Some adults who might not be a result of experiment and still able to communicate with were captured by me. And I had them taken somewhere else to be interrogated by the centaurs.
We need to know what the cult’s plan is. If this is them going all out, then the leader of the cult, the Evil God, and probably the Death Mage, will come as well.
I hope this time we will really get information that we want.
