Chapter 1141: Fighting is Easier while Riding Ray

The hunters are working well fighting the monsters. If the monsters are too strong, they will retreat and let someone else defeat the monsters.

They’re useful. It’s very efficient to let them fight the monsters while we focus on the humans. We should have done this a long time ago.

Still, recruiting hunters that we can trust is difficult. So we will need proper rewards for their participation each time the cult attack.

If the King of the country or the lord of the land doesn’t have enough resources to reward the hunters, they should ask me. I’m rich. And if it’s just magic stones, I can get as many as I want thanks to my relationship with the Spirit King. Though it will be limited to some elements and not all. There’s no summoner element spirit after all.

Maybe there are some. But we just haven’t found any yet. Even in the Spirit Mountain, we don’t have them.

What we have are fire element, water, ice, wind, earth, light, lightning, air, and even healing elemental spirits. Other than them, we don’t have any other spirits in the Spirit Mountain. But they are common elements to have for mages so I think it will be fine. I doubt that there’s a hunter with death element or something.

If there are any hunters with a rare element, we have to recruit them as soon as possible before the cult approaches them.

Anyway, if it’s a reward for hunters, I’m sure they will like it. They can just sell those magic stones if they want to, or they can try to reach master level on their own. As long as they don’t have any plan on joining the cult, we will be happy either way.

If they are selling the magic stones, it might somewhat returned to me again anyway.

There might be more monsters than hunters. But some master level mages helped the hunters. The master level earth mages even created path for the monsters so they can only enter with just a few of them. So the hunters have easier time defeating the monsters.

As for me, I discovered several warriors with Etherstone weapons. So I’m going to kill them.

There doesn’t seem to be any sign of space mage. So it’s just those warriors. Then it will be easy.

Space mages are rare as well. But for some reason, the cult already has some of them.

I have killed several space mages. Maybe that’s why they are not planning to send more space mages for a mission. At least they won’t until the space mages reach master level.

So far, I don’t think all the space mages I have killed have reached master level. At most, they’re just expert level mages. Maybe lower. But no master level mages.

So it seems like they will try to let the space mages reach master level first before they join the fight. Because there’s no space mages here at all even though they should know that they are useful in a fight. I had a lot of problems because of them.

Well, that’s good for now. But I hope they won’t just suddenly appear out of nowhere terrorizing everyone and everything. So I actually wished for there to be some space mages in this attack.

Nothing I can do about that. I’ll just kill the warriors at least.

Hmm? Wait, that’s not the body of someone who trained forever. There’s a mix of monsters’ gene inside that body. They’re also experimented soldiers? They’re sending experimented warriors now?

Let’s test it out.

I rushed toward an armored warrior and slashed my sword at him. I use a little bit Aura. Usually, it’s enough to cut even monsters with rather thick muscles. But there’s more resistant than I thought when I’m cutting just one enemy.

"That was harder than I thought. But it’s not a problem for me," I said.

The only problem would be if I spend more Aura than necessary when defeating them. But that won’t be a problem too much for me right now. Because I’m riding Ray.

Ray has Aura but can’t use it. However, he can share his Aura with me. And it seems like he has not only Aura, but mana pool as well that are bigger than what I have. More mana and Aura inside him than me even though I’m an Aura Master and a master level summoner. So I don’t have to worry much as long as the enemies are not much.

There were times before when Victoria was riding Ray but after a long fight, Ray got tired and unable to share Aura to Victoria anymore. But I know that it’s because Victoria is not an Aura Master. So she needed more Aura than me even when we killed the same monster. That’s why Ray spent more Aura back then than today.

"As expected, you are suited more to be my ride than Victoria," I said.

Ray also neighed happily when I said that. Though I won’t tell Victoria about it. It’s still good for her to be able to fight with Ray and I can move independently.

Though once in a while, this is fine as well. I can ride Ray and probably use Victoria as my weapon as well. That would be the perfect team.

Riding on Ray made it much easier to defeat the warriors. Even if they are experimented on, they are still no match against me.

If they should put me in a prison made of Etherstone. Oh, wait. I can just escape by using portal.

Maybe they will need a prison with a mix ingredient of Etherstone and the material that needed to create the Magic Restricting Collar. That will make my Aura and magic useless.

If they only block one, then I can escape using the other one. Simple.

After defeating all the warriors, I checked everyone’s situation again. The human enemies have been taken care of. Someone is helping Angela to sedate the children so they will fall asleep before they restrain them with Etherstone handcuffs and the Magic Restricting Collar.

As for the hunters, it seems like it will take some time until all monsters are defeated. So I told the others to help the hunters to defeat the monsters.

The hunters are also tired after rushing to the battlefield and fight for a while. So they accepted our help easily.

Just like that, the battle is over. It’s our victory. And this time, we let the hunters join us.

"Sunglasses, is it over?" I asked him over the phone.

"Seems so. There’s no other movement so far," he replied.

I guess we can take it easy for a while. Though we shouldn’t let down our guard.

After flying the hunters to fight the monsters, we told the hunters to return back to the capital on their own. The other soldiers will also return on foot. Because in the capital, all civilians have left the evacuation center and were told that they are safe. So they are going to welcome the heroes who protected the capital.

That’s why I told the hunters and some soldiers to accept their welcome. They deserve it. After so long that they only accepted gratitude from the king, they need to know that the civilians felt gratitude toward the soldiers as well. And this is why they become the soldiers in the first place.

During our previous battles, we never care about this at all. So once the battle is over, we just quickly prepare for the next one and I returned everyone with portal. But now, it will be different.

I didn’t join them in receiving the civilians’ gratitude. But Angela and some others are there. They seem happy to be thanked by the civilians.

After returning to the capital, Angela and the others gathered in my mansion there. Ruby and Ian are already waiting.

But as we were happily talking with each other, Sonia appeared out of nowhere.

"Roy, there are many unknown mages approaching Cassau in high speed! Elsie noticed them!" the ghost said.

Elsie is an All-seeing Eye. And she has better vision than me. At least I think so. That’s why she could see far in the distance even before the other guards noticed them.

"They’re attacking Cassau? Is that their real goal? Everyone, prepare for another battle," I said as I opened a portal back to Cassau.

Meanwhile, I’m on a phone with Sunglasses to tell him that there are people coming to Cassau.

"You think that their real aim is Cassau?" Sunglasses asked.

"Yes. It’s weird that even if I’m hiding my identity for so long, they couldn’t find out about me. So this attack is probably to confirm if I am the Aura user they are looking for or not. That’s my guess because Elsie shared her vision with Lina and Lina told me that there are a lot of them wearing equipment made of Etherstone. What other reason do you think that they are wearing them?" I said.

"Seems like it’s impossible to hide your identity any longer. Whether you reveal it or not, they will at least find that you’re from Cassau. What will you do then?" he asked.

"The natural thing for me to do. Kill all members of the cult."
