Chapter 1138: Attack on the Capital of Tatrama
Chapter 1138: Attack on the Capital of Tatrama
The day after, it’s the time for the casual party with just us from the alliance. Everyone is here. Including Sophie, Lina, and even Penny. The clan is taking a break today.
It’s more festive than before. And as a sign of friendship, we even invited the Marquis that got his ass beaten by Fabio yesterday.
The Marquis and the Duke who is Maya’s father are both confused and can’t say anything in this party. It’s something they have never experienced before. Surrounded by many people who are just commoners acting however they want.
We have a lot of soldiers and agents attending this party. So they will still act politely in front of other Kings. So the ones who caused so much trouble are us from Cassau who is enjoying it however we like.
I also invited Arin and the vampires. After the fight to protect Angela before, I returned them to Earth. And they were nearby. So I asked them if they want to come.
Of course they are allowed to come. But they can’t drink any blood here. Still, they decided to come.
In fact, those vampires act more like nobles than most people here. Is it their upbringing?
"That’s a new necklace. You found it in a Dungeon?" I asked Arin.
"I did," Arin said.
"Have you appraised it yet?"
"No, I haven’t."
"You should at least do that before wearing them. We don’t know what kind of attribute they have. If they actually make you weaker, then you must not wear them at all. Next time, never put on something from a Dungeon without knowing full well what they are. Even if they look like an ordinary jewel, it doesn’t mean that you can freely equip them," I said.
"...Fine. Though I believe this one is just a fancy necklace without any attribute. Next time I found more, I’ll give them to you first," Arin said.
"You can just gather them all together and I or Lina will take them to be appraised. Contact any of us when you got a lot of them so we don’t have to come to you all the time. Just don’t wear them without knowing what they are," I said.
Though I think I did it a few times before. Soon after I returned back to the past. Including the fishnet stocking.
Wait, I think that one I had someone wear it. Or maybe I just attacked it. I forgot.
Hmm? Did I keep forgetting about memories even from this life? It was just a few years ago. But I forget about it?
Does it mean that the damage in my brain is more dangerous than I thought? One day, I will seriously forget who I am.
From today, I’ll ask Kayla to regularly use her healing magic on my brain. It seems like my condition is more serious than I thought.
"Roy, what are you thinking?" Sophie asked me worriedly.
"...I don’t know myself. I forgot. Just daydreaming I guess."
Can’t say that my brain damage might be more serious than I thought.
Seriously, I have to get rid of the cult as soon as possible.
For the fun of the event, I brought all the pandas here. Now it became a huge cuddling event with pandas.
"...Just who are you?" the Marquis asked me.
"Was yesterday not enough?" I asked him back.
"It’s so unbelievable that I couldn’t sleep at all last night," he said.
"Hmm... just think of me as the King of a Monsters Kingdom. I think that’s enough information," I said.
Now that the village has become too big, I decided to call it Monsters Kingdom instead of Monsters Village anymore. Because of the previous battle to protect Angela as she breaks through to master level, we got more dragons, werewolves, and other types of monsters. So now, I’ll call it Monsters Kingdom.
"...It’s a lost knowledge about summoners that no one remembers. So I couldn’t imagine it at all. Until today that is," the Marquis said.
Then the Duke approaches him and patted his shoulder.
"Just get used to it. Don’t think too much about it and get used to it. You will think of it as natural sooner or later," he said to the Marquis.
"Have you gotten used to it?" the Marquis asked the Duke.
"I’m still trying to. But since I have a daughter who can open a portal, I’m more or less used to it."
Well, the party was fun. And right when it’s over, all of us received phone call at the same time. Well, the Kings and I mostly. The others don’t. But they quickly prepared themselves to fight.
I got a call from Sunglasses telling me that it has started. The cult is sending many people here. Including children who are probably experimented to be master level mages.
"...Do they have mohawks?" I asked.
"No, the reports say that they’re bald," Sunglasses said.
"How dare they shave the kids’ hair? They will be bald at young age and continue be bald until they’re old!" I shouted.
"No, wait. That is not important. What’s important is that they are attacking Tatrama. Their target is Tatrama this time," Sunglasses said.
I look at Albert and he’s showing a calm face. But his heart is beating quickly.
"Are there only master level mages and kids?" I asked.
"From the reports, it says that there are no master level mages among them other than the experimented kids and adult. There are some bald adult who use powerful magic. But we can’t tell if they are results of experiment or not," Sunglasses said.
He then told me more about his predictions and guesses. We have to be careful because Tatrama might not be their main target.
"Alright. Be there in a second," I said.
I hang up the phone and looked at everyone. They were those who were just showing their happy expression and seem as if they don’t have any problems in the world. But now, they have the face of a soldier. They are ready to fight.
I looked at the Kings and they’re all looking at me. I guess I’ll be the one to say it.
"There’s an attack in Tatrama. So those who are from Tatrama will return and prepare to fight. For the others, you have to be ready as well. They might be using this attack on Tatrama as a distraction. And most importantly, the enemies are children. Children who have been experimented to be artificial master level mages. I don’t know whether their strength is stronger than ordinary master level mages or not. But I do know that it will be hard to stop them without killing them. If you are hesitant to kill them, please don’t fight. If you still want to fight then group up with someone else so you can capture those kids without killing them while you have someone who will watch your back," I said.
Some of them have their expressions crumbled after hearing that we will face kids. But if we are too soft on them, they will kill everyone. That’s why I told them that they don’t have to fight. Though it’s just for Kayla and the others. Not the soldiers.
They are soldiers. They will have to obey whatever their Kings told them to.
"Luckily, the Blacksmith has a lot of disciples now. And from our previous battles, we got quite a lot of Etherstone. Master level mages don’t have the strength to break them. So if you can’t kill the enemies, you can try to restrain them using a handcuff made of Etherstone and put the Magic Restricting Collar on their neck. Which means that you have to get closer to them and your life will be in more danger. Now, let’s go back," I said.
I first opened a portal for the other Kings to return. Then it’s just those from Arturo and us from Tatrama who will fight.
"Everyone, good luck," Fabio said.
"Yeah. We really need it," Albert said.
Killing children is the one thing that many people are trying to avoid. So even if we win this, there might be consequences if too many of us killed children.
It will be great if we can just restrain them. But if not, we will be forced to kill them.
I opened a portal to the royal palace in the capital. Then ignoring the girls who are still hesitating, I grabbed all the Etherstone handcuffs that the Blacksmith has forged and put them down in front of everyone.
"Roy, you’re not going to take any?" Angela asked.
"If I do, I won’t be able to use Aura. They use children knowing that even if we win, everyone’s opinion of us will be worse. And there might be more people joining the cult because of it. At least that’s what Sunglasses said. I’m sorry, but if it’s impossible to capture them, I will have no choice but to kill them," I said.
"Wait, Roy. Don’t do that. At least just break their legs and arms before you put the collars on their necks. As long as they’re alive, I can heal them. I also don’t want you to feel guilty of killing children. So please do this," Kayla said.
I nodded. I’ll try to do that at least. Breaking their bones is easier than killing them.
This is another one of the most annoying battle that I wish I don’t have to participate. But I have to. So I hope breaking their bones will be enough.
