The Only Aura User In Magic World

Chapter 1137: A Duel

Chapter 1137: A Duel

Soon after, the Marquis left his mansion. So I told the agent and soon after he and some people enter the mansion.

I can see that there are a lot of magic stones in the mansion. All of them are fire element magic stones. I think he might have bought them from me. I don’t know. It’s all Sam’s job to take care of it.

By the way, she’s now richer than me. She is even invited to the wedding as well.

Back to the Marquis. He’s going to the palace now. Well, that’s obvious considering that he’s a Marquis and it’s his King’s wedding day. I hope he won’t cause any problem there.

I can’t just watch that guy. I have many other people to look out for. Especially summoners.

Even if they are just beginner level summoners, they can still open a portal long enough for someone to enter. It’s hard and difficult to find them among all these people.

And they are not master level mages. So it’s harder for me to find them.

Everyone is in the palace now. And the Marquis came late. But he’s Harold’s friend so he was easily pardoned. He and Harold are talking together now.

Of course not without supervision. Carmen is there. It’s her son’s wedding after all. And she’s with her husband. So if the Marquis do anything at all during the wedding, Carmen can do something about it.

Seeing how there are a lot of fire element magic stones in his house, I guess he’s a master level fire mage. And Carmen is a master level water mage. She can handle him on her own.

Keep being vigilant. That’s all I can do.

...And surprisingly, the party is over without any problems.

Well, there were some problems in other cities. But there are already master level mages over there so we stopped it before I even need to come and help.

"It’s weird. But keep being vigilant," Sunglasses said.

"I know. I’m watching them right now," I said.

One by one, the guests leave the venue. Including the kings from other countries.

We still have a party for ourselves later so I didn’t bring them back to their own countries. They’re going to stay here for a bit longer.

When I thought that everyone has left, the Marquis returned to the venue and approaching Fabio, Harold, and Carmen.

What? Is he actually going to fight Fabio over Maya? That’s not the case at all, right? I hope so.

So far, there’s nothing dangerous. But I should go there quickly.

I rushed there with my fastest speed while hiding my presence as much as possible. I also move using a route where only few people are using. And those few people are the soldiers who are placed there to make sure anyone has a safe route to go to the palace or exit the palace.

From there, I hide myself while listening to the conversation.

"Your Majesty, I want you to fight me."

...He’s actually challenging the King. Well, let’s see how it goes.

"Are you crazy? Why are you doing this?" Harold asked.

"I’ll tell you once he wins against me," the Marquis is determined to fight Fabio.

"I’m sorry, but I need the reason why you are doing this. In this troublesome era, fighting among ourselves is not something that is recommended. Perhaps, maybe you’re from the cult?" Fabio asked.

Hearing that, Carmen stands in front of Harold and Luna while Maya moved behind Fabio.

"I’ll tell you after you win," he said.

Meanwhile, I’m checking back to his mansion to see if the agents found something suspicious. I told the agent from before to reply with a nod or a shake of his head when he noticed that I’m looking at him.

And he replied with a shake of his head. It means that he found nothing suspicious in the mansion. So his involvement with the cult is still questionable.

"But that doesn’t give me a reason to duel you. Tell me why you’re doing this," Fabio said.

Before the Marquis said anything, I interrupted them.

"Just fight! It’s not like anything bad will happen due to your duel!" I said.

The Marquis looks surprised and he’s prepared to cast his magic at me. The others were also surprised but they heard a familiar voice so they should be calmer.

"I guess he’s right. Let’s go to the courtyard. We’ll fight there," Fabio said.

"Wait, who is he?" the Marquis asked.

"Hmm... let’s say that he’s our guardian angel. Is that enough?"

"I need better answer than that. But let’s talk after the duel," the Marquis said.

Meanwhile, I’m contacting everyone that there’s going to be a battle between Fabio and another master level fire mage. I told them to be careful in case the cult is going to use this chance to attack.

I followed them to the courtyard. Still hiding from the Marquis though.

In this country, there are not many people who know about me other than those who are related directly with Fabio and Harold. Then there is the Duke simply because his daughter became my disciple.

If we can get the Marquis to know me, well, I don’t know what will happen. The smart people will think about it. So of course I called Toni to witness the fight. He will watch from the sideline.

After talking some more, the two started fighting. They both used fire magic. Though it’s obvious to me that Fabio’s fire magic is stronger than the Marquis’ fire magic.

"You’re a master level mage? That is awesome," Fabio said.

"Ugh... Thank you, Your Majesty. But the battle is still not over!"

...Well, it’s over ten moves later. Fabio won easily.

His fire magic is not stronger than Julia’s fire magic. Even compared to our average master level fire mages, he’s still weaker than them. But he’s still stronger than most average master level mages. Those who don’t belong to us obviously.

"I won. So tell me, why are you doing this?" Fabio asked.

"Huff... but first, tell me who that person from before was?" the Marquis asked.

"For that, we will talk in a more private location. Stand up and follow me to my office," Fabio said.

And I’m already inside his office.

By the way, there were no one suspicious watching the fight. No one reacted much. Maybe they didn’t sense it. Maybe the cult members spying here are weak.

In the office, the Marquis sees me acting rude toward his King. He’s angry but there’s nothing he can do after Fabio told him that the kingdom survived because of me.

The story of how Harold was replaced by someone from the cult is already known widespread. And the story of how Fabio and the others fighting them is known. But no one knows everything including how I saved Harold before he died.

And the Marquis turns to me.

"Thank you. Thank you for saving my best friend," he said.

"So, you’re not from the cult at all? Then why are you challenging Fabio?" I asked.

I dropped all honorific toward his Kings and his best friend. But he didn’t mind it.

"Well, when I learned that we were so close to being destroyed, I felt powerless. Since then, I would buy as many fire element magic stones as possible to increase my magic level. And I want to see if the His Majesty is now strong enough to protect himself and the Kingdom. Your Majesty, you can punish me for my action. But I trust that you will be able to protect Arturo," the Marquis kneeled in front of Fabio.

So that’s his goal. I guess it’s fine that he’s not a member of the cult. And as a master level mage, he can defend himself. That’s good. Though it’s better if he gained some more battle experience.

"It’s okay. You are just concerned about the Kingdom and my father’s well-being. I’m sure you’re thinking that after my father was swapped, I’m forcing my father to resign from the throne. I know many people think so. Even after a few years taking the lead in this Kingdom, many people are still not convinced. I promise you this. This Kingdom will never fall unless the King falls first," Fabio promised.

What? It ended well after the fight? Well, that’s not important.

"Oh, by the way, don’t ever leak the secret about me no matter what. If you want to learn more, you can ask Fabio or Toni. But never ever tell anyone about me even to your most trusted person," I said.

"I promise. But still, what are you?" he asked.

"Hmm... let’s say that I have a higher position than most Kings in this continent and I can act rudely to them as much as I want. Does that answer your question?"

"I might still ask about you from His Majesty later. But I’m convinced that you’re not a bad guy," he said.

"If you mean bad guy as someone who will take over this Kingdom, then I’m not that."

Considering how I’m doing whatever I want with or without any King’s permission, I’m still a bad guy, right?

Well, today’s party is over. But we still have to protect everyone for a while longer. Maybe the cult will really make their move soon.
