Chapter 1133: The Couple Picking a Monster

A few days before their wedding day. And I bought Maya and Fabio to the island where I kept the small monsters so they can pick one.

"Is there no boss monster? You know, the one that is actually the leader of a tribe or something," Fabio asked.

"I don’t think so," I said.

"You don’t have any insect-type monsters, right?" Maya asked.

"Nope. Jewel told me that you won’t like it," I said.

"Thank god," Fabio said.

...Wait, it’s you?! You’re the one who is afraid of bugs? Not Maya?

"Fabio, you’re afraid of bugs?" I asked.

"Well, I’m ashamed to say it but yes. I don’t like them," Fabio said.

"Maya, are you afraid of bugs as well?" I asked Maya.

"Not really. But it’s Fabio’s preference so it’s best to keep away from them," Maya said.

"...You should have told me. Then I will make an island full of insects if that’s the case. You can see Fabio’s frightened expression as much as you want," I said.

"Before I get scared, I would have burn the entire island," Fabio said.

True. It’s not easy to prank a master level mage. They will use magic to fight back.

We still preparing for the time when the cult is attacking us during the wedding day. With a chance like this, it’s nearly impossible for the cult to let it pass. They will surely attack somewhere.

It could be at the wedding venue where all the Kings gathered, it could still be in Arturo but in another place, or it could be in another country. Especially since the security of other country should weaken because the Kings are attending the wedding.

"There’s a chance for that to happen. But then, if the cult won’t attack us, that would be a perfect wedding for us," Fabio said when I told him about my concern.

"The most likely reason they won’t attack us would be because you attacked their highly populated base and destroyed it with just the two of you. With so many of their master level mages died, they don’t have enough power to fight. It’s just one of many possibilities," Fabio said.

This is also why there are several people who have several Blobbies with them. So whenever a portal opened not because of a summoner from our side, they have to try their best to throw at least a Blobby into the portal. If possible, they should enter the portal themselves so they can mark the place with Blobbies. Even at the cost of their lives.

But maybe the cult has learned something after my attack on the populated base of the cult in the Monsters World. That it’s best to open a portal far from their base. That is possible.

Even then, that place should be closer to the base compared to just looking for their base from any city they will attack. This is our only option so far.

"Well, we’ll figure it out when it happens. So, which monster will you pick?" I asked.

"Since it’s a living being that will probably stay with me for a long time, I want one that has a long life," Fabio said.

"As if I know anything. I just grab some monsters. The rest is up to you. And your soon-to-be wife even picked a monster for its cuteness. The panda. Just pick anything that is here," I said.

"Then which one is easy to take care?" Fabio asked.

"You mean food? There are some that eat fruits and some that actually eat their own poop," I said.

"...The one that eats fruits," Fabio said.

So I brought them to where the herbivore monsters are. All herbivores here like vegetables and fruits.

"One that is small enough for me to hold in my hand," Fabio said.

Then I brought them to where even smaller monsters are. And Fabio and Maya decided to pick one.

Will I see their first ever couple argument here? I did.

Fabio picked a different monster than the one that Maya picked. And they started arguing which one would be the best.

"I’m the King. This fits me more as a King, right?"

"But this one is cuter! Look at this little thing!"

And I enjoyed watching every moment of it. Will I argue with my girlfriends one day like this?

To add more fun, I texted Carmen, Fabio’s mother, about Fabio and Maya’s first ever argument.

"The winner will be the master of the house. Even if Fabio is the king, this fight will decide their future. Tell me more about this when their fight is over."

I guess that’s to be expected from an experienced wife.

Fabio’s choice was a small and rather strong monster despite its size, while Maya’s choice is a cute monster but weak.

If it’s me, I would pick the one Fabio chose. But this is their moment. I should just watch.

"...I really need to watch some more dramas. Just reading books or going to a theater is not good enough," Victoria said.

"Right. You mentioned that you have actors and actresses perform a play and record it. Then the recording is broadcasted on TVs. It’s another business idea. It’s been a while so we should suggest it to Sam so we can get more money," I said.

Meanwhile, the couple finally decided on a monster. And it’s a different monster instead of the two they were fighting for. This one is small and rather cute, but it’s strong. Though not as strong as the previous monster Fabio suggested.

I told Carmen about the result.

"Then whenever they have argument, they will discuss it together to find the answer they both satisfied with. I guess that’s good."

So I asked her which one she’s actually rooting for.

"Maya of course. Fabio is becoming more and more workaholic. Maya needs to be able to force him to rest."

Is that what happened between Carmen and Harold? Did Carmen win?

I don’t think so. After all, even after he married Carmen, Harold still looked at other women. It’s only after I saved him that he started to be softer to Carmen.

Right. I also had a slight trouble catching that one because that one can fly even without wings. It uses wind magic. Not like Spot who can fly without using wind magic even though he doesn’t have wings.

I had a hard time because I was training by not relying on my Aura. So when it flew, I had to jump high to catch it. I caught it in the end and put it here along with the other.

But this lizard is cute? Is it because the bright skin color or is it because of its huge eyes? Well, it’s just Maya’s taste. I guess it’s fine.

"Okay, great. That’s my wedding gift for you two. I can’t attend the formal wedding because I’m a commoner but I’ll attend the second party with just us from the alliance," I said.

"You can come as Maya’s master though," Fabio said.

"If I do, people will wonder about Maya’s magic. She has air element and summoning element. Then if there’s a spy from the cult, they will deduct that I have air element and summoning element as well. Connecting me with the Aura user they’re looking for. So I can’t come when there are only strangers in the room," I said.

"I see. Well, if you’re bored, I can assign a guard job for you so you can attend," Fabio said.

"That’s an interesting offer. I’ll think about it later."

Wedding, huh? I can’t think of having one for me while the cult is still there.

Well, I’ll just be happy with my friend and my disciple’s wedding.
