Chapter 1111: My Secret Plan
Chapter 1111: My Secret Plan
I attacked the enemy base a few times during the night. Targeting mainly the summoners and monsters.
Though I didn’t attack at a regular interval. Sometimes, it’s two hours after the previous attack. Sometimes, it’s an hour. Sometimes, it’s not even five minutes. So they have no choice but to stay awake at all times.
I informed all my raids to the others. And we made a plan to attack the base as soon as the sun is up. Though only some people.
With how they move, they will probably trying to kill the one who is attempting to breakthrough again. Which is Angela. And this means that they’re going to come to the island again.
Using that chance, we will have a small group of elite mages to attack the base. Just in case that they have some more summoners among them.
With how they’re going to attack the island, the defense in their base will be lowered. Even if some people return to the base when it’s under attack, we have picked at least one summoner in each group that will attack the base that can help the others to return back to the island right away. Some summoners who have familiars from the village.
As for me, I will rest again. I need a lot of rest. Because what I’m going to do next is impossible for the others to give permission to.
After just one day, I can tell that everyone can protect Angela. So I didn’t tell anyone that the next time I raid the base and see a summoner opening a portal, I will enter it. I will attack their main base on my own.
Well, maybe not on my own. I can summon my familiars later or open a portal for the others to help me. But what I want to do is to kill their leader. If that’s not possible, then I will have to throw as many Blobbies as possible to mark the place.
I will try my best to attach the Blobbies on any landmark, any people, or even any monsters that I see on the other side of the portal.
I didn’t tell this plan to the others because I’m sure that they will reject it. But this could be our only chance to find where they are hiding.
I didn’t even tell Victoria. I will tell her when I’m about to enter the portal.
This is why I need rest. After raiding the base for an entire night, I spent too much mana and Aura. If I end up facing someone beyond the stage of master level, I’m not confident that I can defeat them when I’m not a hundred percent fit. So I need to rest.
I think that I have caused enough ruckus for the cult that they couldn’t get a single night of rest.
They might be master level mages who don’t really need rest for a night. But if we keep repeating it a few more times, then they really can’t get enough sleep.
The elite groups with summoner among them will also be raiding their base at night. I suggested the plan by saying that I might be the main force while they’re the distractions. But it’s actually so that we will continue annoy them even after I left. Just in case I haven’t returned.
I rested until afternoon and decided to join the raid on the enemy’s base. They couldn’t build a proper shelter as they’re being attacked all the time. Still, they have more people than us. So we can’t really take it easy.
I can still see some summoners in the base. I told the others to attack them. But with them around, even when we managed to kill the summoners, they closed the portal before we could even get closer.
As I thought, I have to do it alone. Doing it with other people is too difficult. They can notice us right away.
When I returned back to the island, Kayla, Sunglasses, and even Victoria are waiting for me.
"Roy, welcome back. How is it?" Kayla asked.
"Just the normal thing. We killed some summoners but I don’t know if there are any more of them around. There seem to be more monsters there than before as well. Maybe they mixed some familiars with tamed monsters to make it harder for us to kill the familiars," I said.
"I don’t mean that. We’re sure that you’re actually planning on something. You want to enter their portal, right?" Kayla asked.
...They can read mind?
"It’s something that Victoria, I, and everyone from Cassau can tell. We have been with you for a while. As for... Sunglasses, he knew only when I said it to him," Kayla said.
"Well, that’s right. I’m thinking of doing that even alone. This time, they might really be going to their main base. And even I might not be able to get out of there unscathed. I’m sure if I tell Sunglasses about it, he will tell the Kings and they will stop me. So I never said it. But I guess I can’t do that anymore," I said.
"Actually, that’s what I want you to do. The Kings won’t give the permit. But it should be fine as long as they don’t know it, right? For now, all of us from Cassau agree to that plan since we’re confident that you can return to us alive. Even Sunglasses think so too. And it’s good that so far, Shirley hasn’t noticed your plan at all since she’s busy fighting. So no one else knows about this. I will support your plan. I will arrange two groups entirely filled with girls from Cassau that raid their base once in a while. You just have to join them when you’re raiding the base. Once you find a chance to enter their portal, do it. And plant as many of Victoria’s clones as possible," Kayla said.
Great! I can’t believe that I end up having someone supporting my idea to go there.
And Sunglasses will not say a word about this. So the Kings won’t notice unless I got caught by the soldiers or Shirley.
As for the girls in Cassau, even Candy and Wendy noticed. Sara seems to be suspicious of me, but she didn’t say anything. So she won’t be in any group that I will join when we raid the base. That’s what Kayla said.
The reason they won’t give the permission to me is because of how important I am to them. For them, they will continue to think that I am one of them and will not allow any danger happen to me if they can avoid it. So unless it’s for something really important, they won’t allow me to do things on my own.
But that’s just like I’m their possession or something. Sure, I might be Albert’s half-brother. But I’m still me. The Roy who only knows of the live as a commoner. And I do things with my own two hands.
I am glad with the creation of the alliance. But after so long, I feel like they act more and more as my restriction rather than for helping me destroying the cult.
Sure, they will gather and discuss about the cult with me. But most of the discussions they had were about other things. Politics, trading, and some other stuff that I don’t really get.
I enjoyed it most when all I need to do was to fight. But when I’m just told to wait, I feel bored and restricted. So I want to do things my own way without getting their permission. And this is it.
After so long, after two lives, we are the closest we’ve ever been to destroying the cult. But that goal seems to still be so far away.
That’s why I have to take the risk. I need to do things that even I’m not sure that I can get out of it alive.
I will enter their portal and locate it as soon as possible.
"Then since I have your permission, Victoria will stay here and I will still go alone. You will tell Kayla where I am. If it’s in this world, tell her where the closest Blobby you feel is and the direction from there. If it’s on Earth, then once I enter the portal and I haven’t returned, quickly get a summoner to bring you back to Earth and feel the direction of where I am," I said.
"But Roy, have you looked at the sky at night?" Victoria suddenly asked.
"What about it?"
"There are many stars in the sky. And some of them are probably another planet. What if the cult’s main base is actually in another planet? Then I won’t be able to know if it’s on Earth or in this world," Victoria said.
"...I never thought that there will be a third option. No, in fact we now have unlimited options now. What should I do if that’s the case?" I asked.
"Stay there for as long as possible. Maybe days or weeks. Find a safe place and spread as many of my clones as possible. Once you think that’s enough, then you can return. If you just leave the clones behind, you will not know when they are destroyed for some reason. So you have to stay there for a while until you can guarantee that the place you’re hiding in is safe," Victoria suggested.
Nice. Now we have a plan.
Still, there are a lot of planets? I guess we learn something new.
I hope that we don’t have to go to another new planet again. It’s already difficult with just two.
