Chapter 1110: Night Raid
Chapter 1110: Night Raid
Protecting Angela is not difficult. Because everyone is stronger now, there’s not much I can do.
Meanwhile, Pawzer is away and haven’t returned yet. I guess he found someone among the cult who can keep up with his speed.
But that’s not necessarily means that they are stronger than Pawzer. Pawzer is just too much of a scaredy cat that he avoids fighting them. But they’re still humans. Powerful magic can still kill them.
I can’t see far, but I can tell that there are battles in the floating islands placed near this island. And now, even most of the elves are moving on their own. Well, that’s fine. I will handle protecting Angela here.
I might not be able to see far anymore. But I can detect when someone is getting closer and I can react fast enough to stop them from reaching Angela. Though Tia and some other elves are still here.
In the forest, I can see something huge is moving really quickly. Well, human-size huge I mean. Not the gigantic one.
They’re the centaurs. They utilized their speed well in the forest as they killed anyone who enters the forest.
The elves are agile in the forest. But centaurs are fast. Though it’s still up to the individual, that’s the innate skill of elves and centaurs. After all, a lot of werewolves are much faster than either of those two races. But each race has their own innate skill of which they are superior to other races. So if they train more, they can surpass the werewolves.
Dragons are flying in the sky shooting magic breaths to the enemies that is getting closer from above. Some of the dragons have riders on their back. Though most of them are just temporary riders. They are werewolves or weretigers who landed on the dragons’ back before they leap to another location.
The angels are everywhere healing those who are injured. And the vampires happily drink the blood of the master level enemies. The enemies only make those vampires stronger.
I can’t see the Crab People. The sea is too far. But I think they are doing fine.
With how many people fell from the ship, I guess the Crab People are busy. I doubt anyone who enters the sea will be able to survive.
I can’t see Kayla and the others. They must be doing their own things to protect Angela.
Victoria continues reporting the news of what she sees when she’s not in the middle of a fight. And she said that almost half of the people from the ship are wind mages. Then there are also those who survived by riding on the back of their tamed monsters. They are so tenacious.
But she said that instead of coming here to watch and see, it seems like they are all here to as expendable assets. They are here to die so the real enemy can gauge our strength.
’Are you sure about that?’
’No. But it’s best to be careful just in case,’ Victoria replied.
She’s right. Though I am not good at thinking. I’m just good at assuming things without evidences. So I will let other people do the thinking.
There are too many enemies. And they are smart enough to stop when the sky turns dark. So we have a chance to rest.
Well, not really. There are still some wild monsters trying to get here. At least we don’t have to fight all the time.
When the cult stopped attacking, we leave some people in charge of watching where they are resting while the others are gathering near Angela to discuss stuffs.
We have a building for those who are tired to rest. But since I’m by Angela’s side all the time, they discuss things here with me.
"With how they’re acting, we can’t assume that that’s all they have. They might be waiting for more reinforcement. And probably stronger ones," Sunglasses said. He decided to join us once he heard that the cult stopped attacking. He’s the best strategist we have so it’s all good even if he doesn’t participate in the battle directly.
"Can’t someone just go to where they are resting and destroy them all?" I asked.
"Other than you who dare and can do that, there’s no one else. Are you going to leave Angela? Besides, they are already prepared to stay here for a while. And I’m pretty sure that their defenses are much stronger in their base than when they’re attacking. They will be gathering in one place and they are stronger together. So it will be difficult for others to do that. But if you want to cause ruckus so the enemies can’t have a good rest, then we can do that," Sunglasses said.
So we decided to send me every night to cause some trouble in the enemy’s base while during the day, I will rest near Angela’s side and have some other people to protect her until someone strong arrives. Someone that only I can defeat.
"Then... I’ll go with Spot. We can hide using his camouflage and he can shoot from distance. I’ll ride Ray when I think that I will need to spend a lot of Aura or mana," I said.
Other than the time when he was shooting his magic breath to the ship, Spot said that he didn’t do much. He said that most of the battles were fought only by his children. He was just watching.
So his children seem to be even stronger now. They can fly and shoot magic breaths. Then I hope they can also learn camouflage skill.
Wearing armor, I ride with Spot to where we expect the cult would build their base.
It’s not close. It’s quite far but it’s the closest island from where we were. And the island is smaller as well.
There are several wind mages flying checking the surrounding area. Protecting their base. But Spot’s camouflage skills combined with my ability to hide my presence have improved a lot. Though we still can’t get close to any master level mage, we can still find a path to the base.
"Alright. Just give me five minutes. Once five minutes is up, you can shoot the island with your magic breath," I said.
"Do you think five minutes is enough?" Spot asked.
"It’s not enough to destroy them. But I will come back here again in a few hours and every time I’m here, they will experience the hardest five minutes of their lives."
I have no plan to just come here once a night. I will come here every few hours and create so much trouble that they can’t get enough rest.
Though today is their first day attacking the island. So I doubt that they are exhausted. They’re master level mages after all. They have great stamina.
I jumped from Spot and his camouflage skill is no longer working. But since no one is paying attention to me, no one noticed me until I get too close.
They are still raising their base. Creating shelter with the help of the earth mages. They saved some supplies from the ship it seems. So my target is their supply.
It’s not far enough from Angela, but my Divine Vision works better here. So as soon as I found where they store their supply, I quickly run over there as the enemies noticed me.
"Intruder! He’s the Aura user!"
Tens of thousands people are ready to attack me. But in the air, I can maneuver so easily. Better than even wind mages. So I can dodge their attacks as I destroy their supply. Though with how many fishes swimming nearby, it won’t matter much. But if I can make them eat less delicious food, their morale will drop easily.
After destroying their supply, I faced them. So far, there’s no one who is really strong mage that I have to be careful of. But if I have to find a target, it would be summoners or monsters. Because they can easily bring people here.
So while fighting, I observe the surrounding area. Finding any monster, no matter how small or weak they are, and finding someone who is more well-protected than the others.
With this much ruckus, only the summoners who have to protect their own lives for their mission won’t try to attack me. And I found them already opened some portals.
I ignore the weak magic attacks attacking me and use Blobbyguns to shoot at the summoners. With Aura bullets, I can kill them even if they’re master level mages.
Still, it’s too much for me alone. It won’t be long until they can hurt me. But five minutes is already up and Spot shoots his magic breath here. Letting me escape with him using portal.
"Alright. Let’s rest for two hours before going back there again. I couldn’t mark that place with Blobbies since they were noticed by them so I had some Crab People to stay near the island so I can go there right away," I said to Spot before we return to the island.
Two hours later, I noticed that there are more people in the island than before. So I continue killing the summoners and the monsters.
The summoners are really the most annoying one. And I am one. So I will annoy them until they all die.
