Chapter 1096: Quick Battle
Chapter 1096: Quick Battle
Me against the Armored King. A broadsword against whatever weapon I will decide after this.
"A slime that can change her form into any weapon you want. So she’s your main weapon, huh?" the Armored King said.
"Yes. She has been my partner ever since I returned back to the past," I said.
"Still, I can’t believe that someone could return back to the past. Are you really from the future?"
"The future I came from is no longer the same. We already have an alliance of the countries in this continent against the cult which we didn’t have in my past life. And also, it was not my power that I was returned to the past. It’s the power of a certain monster and a certain Spirit King. Thanks to the Spirit King ability to see past my memories, I could recall that," I said.
"Well, that’s interesting. I also wish that you can kill this Evil God you’re facing whether he’s the same guy who destroyed my kingdom or not. But I won’t go down easily just because I support your idea. I’ll fight with my life on the line. As the current King of this land said, I’ll be a stepping stone for you. If you die here, then it’s impossible for you to win against the Evil God," the Armored King said.
He’s right. This guy is someone that the old Evil God decided to bring other people to kill instead of doing it himself. Whether he was strong enough to kill Aura users back then or not, he’s still someone who gave this zombie in front of me so much trouble. The Evil God was afraid of him. He lost against the former King in front of me. So if I want to see if I’m stronger than the Evil God, then I have to have the skill to kill this guy.
That’s why instead of using Reizpear or my sword and the cane, I’ll have to fight with Victoria. Because after all, she’s my greatest weapon.
I’m sure of it. The Armored King is strong.
If I can finish him in one strike, that would be great. I’ll just use my everything from the start. There’s no need for me to wait until he’s showing his everything as well.
And that armor. If what I’m thinking is right that those armors allowed the wearer to move independently, or according to someone’s wishes, then I could get at least four more fighters. By utilizing Victoria’s clones to wear those armors.
I want them. So I need to kill him to get it.
Although parts of the armors were broken from the fight, they can still be covered with something. And the wearers are Blobbies. So it will be fine even if the broken parts of the armors can’t be fixed.
Victoria can fight well. Since she used to be Aura users, she can fight as well as long as someone, either me or Ray, share some Aura with her so she can control it in a fight. But unlike Graham’s clones, Victoria’s clones can’t fight on their own.
With those armors on though, if they can somewhat fight independently without Victoria ordering them around, then it will be as if I got four more familiars. That’s a huge increase in strength.
But to test that, I need to kill the Armored King first.
"Do you need a signal to start the battle?" I asked.
"Let’s just say that the fight already begun. No need for a signal once both sides are facing each other."
As soon as he said that, I rushed toward him. Victoria in my hand as a spear. It’s the weapon I’m most familiar with.
Using my most powerful technique, I tried to pierce the Armored King’s armor. But the Armored King is very agile with his broadsword. He parries my attack and tried to counter attack.
But I can see that. I never told him about my Divine Vision. Though he’s really fast.
Not as fast as Pawzer, but he’s really fast that I need that technique I used against Pawzer. The one that will make everything around me move slower including my own body. It’s also because I want to kill him as soon as possible.
In the slow motion, he casually changes the trajectory of his broadsword so he could pierce me. And when I move my hand to block his attack, I can tell from his eyes that he’s actually reacting to my movement. Unlike Pawzer who had a hard time doing it.
Damn, this guy is strong. But as long as he doesn’t know yet the full extent of what my Aura can do, I’m still at the advantage.
I blocked his broadsword with my empty hand covered with Aura. I can tell if I didn’t put this much Aura into my hand, hand will be cut through.
Then I grabbed his broadsword and change Victospear into Victokatana as I slashed him. But even though I used a lot of Aura this time as well, his armor seems impenetrable.
No, it’s not just his armor. It’s his magic.
Using his magic, just like how Shelia can regenerate his wound automatically, his body is covered with magic that strengthened his body and even his armor. It’s just like Aura. But instead of Aura, it’s magic.
That is the special ability of his race I guess. Using magic to do things that I can do with Aura. And that’s his innate ability. While I have to train for it.
"You can do that? Then why couldn’t the Small Knight before do it? If he could do it, my werewolf would have been the one who died," I asked.
"He hasn’t evolved as a race as I had. And I was the only one from my race who has evolved to my final form. The other hasn’t. But he’s still the second strongest after me. I truly believed that if he could transform into his final form, he would be stronger than me. Unfortunately, he didn’t have the time to evolve," the Armored King said.
Evolution! I think I’ve read it somewhere that some monsters will evolve into their stronger form as they grew stronger. So this is his final form. And the Small Knight is the form before the final form.
"I guess once you’re dead, you can’t evolve anymore. He’s been here for who knows how many years. But he couldn’t evolve. What a shame," I said.
And that’s it. There’s no more talking.
Aura and magic. Both used to increase our strength.
When we pushed each other until we’re both gaining some distance, we both then slashed from far at the same time. So his magic can do that as well.
Our slashes hit each other. From the look of it, we’re pretty much equal since neither of our slashes went through the other’s slash attack.
"Can’t you just die, please? After all, I’m the only one who can kill the Evil God. Not you who seem like can’t leave this dungeon," I said.
"That’s why I said that I’m a stepping stone you have to step over before you can do that! If you can’t kill me, then you’re not strong enough!" he replied.
How can I win? Should I use grappling techniques like Shelia did? Or I’ll use magic.
Long distance attack won’t work. So I have to keep it close.
He might be about as strong as I am. But I have more fighting experience. While he’s lying still for a thousand years, I have been fighting against the cult.
Once we get close again, I tripped his leg to make him fall. Then I let go of Victoria as I furiously throw multiple punches on the falling opponent.
It was great. His defense was finally broken. But I didn’t stop punching because he’s still alive.
"I’ll just pummel you to death like this!"
This is no longer can be said to be an honorable duel. This is just a brawl. And I’m the only one punching.
Of course I didn’t just punch blindly. I keep looking for an opening so I can kill him.
Finally, I found it. I made an opening in between my attacks so he could react to it. And he caught the bait.
Then I quickly jumped back before summoning Victoria and use her as a spear to pierce his heart.
He thought that he found a chance. But I just made a huge opening by doing that. He forgot that my weapon is my familiar that I can summon anytime I want.
"Using tricks, huh? I guess you can do that," the Armored King said.
"I’m not like my familiars who chose to fight and die honorably. I’ll use anything to survive," I said.
"I see... It’s still a good duel for me. Thanks for letting me die in a duel..."
Just like that and the Armored King drew his last breath.
I finished the fight sooner than the previous fights. And there’s no injury as well.
As expected, Victoria is my greatest weapon. Not only do I need to carry her around, I can summon her or unsummon her whenever I want.
Now, I’ll have to bury him together with his knights. The match is over. The Dungeon Boss has been killed.
"That was quick. But it’s good that it’s over quickly. Let’s go back now! We will finally stop going to this undead dungeon!" Victoria said happily.
